What’s their full name?

Why was that chosen?

Does it mean anything?

The name "Tsumiki" written in the kanji "月美希" means "Moon, beauty, and hope". They are the characteristics I thought fit her character the best, especially the moon motif.

However, canonically in the story, Tsumiki's name is written in katakana (a phonetic way of writing in Japan), like the rest of her brothers.

So her full name in Japanese, Sakamaki Tsumiki, would be written as "逆巻 ツミキ"

Fun fact! I actually decided to use the name Tsumiki cause of Mikan from danganronpa, about 4 or more years ago. I liked the way it sounded and it’s kanji, meaning “sin tree”. I didn’t really do proper research of naming conventions for my characters until a while later😅.

Everything will be answered as if they are in the Lilith Rebellion universe (au versions also possible). Meaning either established relationship Amayui or ambiguous mutual pining stage.

DL Boys don’t interact (well technically you can, but Amaya’s probably going to yell at you so I’m not sure why you’d want to.)

Special guest appearances by other LR-verse relevant characters maybe? idk. (definitely not the guys though I’m not writing for them unless absolutely necessary)

Yeah I can’t think of any other specific rules but if you make me mad, just know it’ll hurt you more than me!

Hello everyone!

If you read the description, then you know what you’re getting into. “Love by Moonlight” is a rewrite of the storyline for the well known Otome game, Diabolik Lovers. It will be mainly centered around my original character, Tsumiki Sakamaki, and the many struggles she has to overcome as a vampire, sister, and a girl in love. The canon character’s (as well as more OC’s) will of course have their own limelight here and there, but this is ultimately Tsumiki’s story.

Who is Tsumiki?

Despite the shared family name, Tsumiki is not actually related to the Sakamaki bloodline. Rather, an orphan who made her way into the family thanks to it’s head, Karlheinz. Since childhood, her presence in the manor acts as a voice of reason and as some much needed stability for her dysfunctional “brothers”. However, things begin to change drastically once the new sacrificial bride, Yui Komori, arrives.

What to expect?

As a rewrite, what kind of changes should anyone who’s interested expect. Well, as a disclaimer now, this story will be a strong deviation from the canon lore and characterization for the majority of the characters. Diabolik Lovers is known for its strong “sadism” element, but it’s really just extreme levels of abuse and toxicity from all its suitors. While there’s nothing wrong with enjoying darker media like that, it always made me so uncomfortable with how the heroine is put through such horrific circumstances and the games basically romantized it. Especially with how each of boy’s traumatic pasts were used as excuses for their behaviours, with no real character development happening in the end. The writing itself does not help either, as Rejet loves to retcon it’s story constantly, leaving behind a lot a lot of confusing details. I don’t speak for everybody, people will love those games just how they are and that’s fine! These are my thoughts and I just want to make something that I would personally (and hopefully others) would enjoy.

“Love by Moonlight” will delve into the themes of trauma and explore the ways it effects different people, especially in relationships. Very different from the source material, mind you. I want to aim for a true, happy ending, but it won’t be easy for the characters to obtain. I hope you all will like what I have in store.

Until the release, what’s in store for now?

The story itself will take a while to fully create and finish, especially given my IRL life so what I can offer till then:

Answer any questions you may have about my story or characters (so long as they’re not too spoilery).

Create fun content of Tsumiki, along with dynamics and headcoanons between her, Yui, and the rest of the DL characters. 

Share my ideas and ask for feedback, showing what I have in store and what I plan to specifically change.

Later down the road, I can even share some fun AU’s I came up with.

You could even send in-characters asks for Tsumiki if you want a better feel of her personality.

So yeah! Those are plans for now for this fun little project. I want to make a fun environment here so I hope you all enjoy!

Because it's already December and before this 2020 ended, I just want to share you all my collections of my ship from this year.
