StarFall Discord Server!

I have a server made for the AU, which mostly comprises of friends at the moment. And there are a few things that go down there, like chatting, playing games together (or others watching), exclusive WIPs and non-canon memes... But overall, it's just a small chill space I created for people to learn more about the AU and interact. :]

now that the event is done over on the server... here's Cryla's design!

Cryla (She/Her)

While she's not a entirely a spider monster, she does ascertain certain features (arms, figure,etc.) This is partially due to her family tree, with most of them being spider monsters but some of them turning out differently. Her mouth is lined with many sharp teeth, making it easier to eat food. She has a girlfriend named Allyia and they run a clothing shop together.

Cryla has always had a love for ways she can bring about her creativity. And when she was in school, she learned how to sew. She discovered she enjoys crafting clothes, things that are unique and will stand out. She doesn't tend to mention her family, despite having a mother and older brother. She's usually calm and collected, however, she doesn't tend to handle being under stress/pressure very well. She lives with her girlfriend in Waterfall, where their store is also located.

The stars in Waterfall, although never quite compare to the real thing, are still beautiful enough to anyone who notices.

This was originally just going to be a Waterfall background... but I added Papyrus too!! and look at him <3 just enjoying the stars :]

The Wishing Star

There have been stories and legends told, passed down from generation to generation. The monsters have one half of the story, the humans hold the other.

The monsters' side

There came a star in the night sky, brighter and more oddly shaped than the others. It only ever appeared once every year, on the last night before spring. This star is said to grant good luck if overhead, or even a wish if you have one present at the time. It's only visible later in the evening than the other stars, one of the many reasons it's so unique.

Over time, the monsters celebrated the appearance of the star with a small ceremony, welcoming it into the sky. This was followed by a gathering and party afterward that sometimes would even lead into dusk when the star was no longer visible anymore.

Ever since the monsters were sealed underground, monsters often paint this star on the ceilings of their homes, commonly above where they sleep. Some still participate in the ceremony and festivities afterward on the night that the star would show on the surface. Others stopped when they were sealed underground, claiming that it will do no good if you're not directly underneath the true star.

The humans' side

The variation of this belief on the surface have been lost to time. Although, the king and queen remember bits and pieces.

Human Talk (Star and Pin)

"Hey, Pin, what do you think you would do if you encountered a human?" Estarius, sitting right next to Pincushion, asked. He thought for a moment as he kicked his feet gently in the air. After taking a bit of consideration, he asked a question in response. "Well, are you talking about if I were on one of my patrols, during the day, out in public-" Estarius groaned and cut him off. "You're thinking about this way too seriously, come on, just answer! If a human were standing right in front of you, what would you do?" He blinked, glancing at them before staring back at the icy water. "I'd probably try to talk to them, I don't know. I'd find out their business, where they came from, and sort things accordingly." He shrugged. Star broke out into laughter. "Of course, that's so you. Always taking things seriously and thinking on the logic end of the spectrum." He leaned back. "What about you?" "Me?" Estarius thought. "Personally, I'd probably turn them in to a higher up." Pin tilted his head. "Really? Why?" He heard what he thought was a snicker before they responded. "Too much responsibility on my part, plus, they're the ones who are trained for situations like that. They'd know what to do, right?" He kicked his reflection, causing the water to ripple in a small circle. "I guess."

A Dream

The smell of damp grass and petals surround the area as Pincushion came to his senses. "Where am I..?" He asked under his breath. It took a few blinks before his vision steadied, the sparkle of artificial stars lined the sky above. "Waterfall? But how did I end up here? I was at home a bit ago, at least, I think so..." He groaned, holding his palm to his forehead as he shut his eyes tight, allowing the darkness to cradle his eyes. "My head hurts, I don't understand. This isn't a dream, is it?" As he opened his eyes he looked around, noticing the lack of anyone nearby. He fell quiet and let the silence echo back to him, the tranquil sound of constant water ripples easing his mind. He pushed himself to his feet, brushing off any mud from his coat. "I don't even know what time it is, I'll probably just head home." Yet, he hesitated. Although, it wasn't voluntary, he was frozen in place by a chill along his neck. He snapped out of it, turning his attention quickly to his surroundings. Still no one. He could hear his heartbeat lightly in his ears as he chuckled to himself. "Jeez, I really am paranoid, huh?" His laughter slowed to a stop. "...Guess I don't blame myself, especially considering the.. odd circumstance I ended up in." He blinked, realizing now he could move. "Right, I almost forgot. Heading home." Blades of grass folded under his boots as he walked towards Snowdin.

so, one of my dear friends that i've known for YEARS asked a while back if she could draw one of my characters (later I found out she wanted to practice drawing skeletons, and wouldn't you know it, I draw a lot of skeletons) so, having made a reference sheet for Strixxa the night before, i sent her the picture

Estarius (They/Them)

Estarius, also nicknamed Star, is a Lisk. Lisks are monsters that have wings instead of arms and their bodies, except their faces, are covered in feathers. Lisks are empathic by nature, sometimes feeling the emotions of others whenever they look at someone. Lisks also do not grow very much, often looking like children because of their height and appearance. Lisks cannot fly with their wings, seeing as they are too small to get them off the ground, but give them heightened speed and/or agility. They also do not get cold as easily due to the warmth of their feathers. Star has a heightened empathic ability to the point where if they watch an act of violence happen, they can feel a similar painful sensation.

Star is close friends with Pincushion, hanging around him whenever given the opportunity. They are often mischievous and likes to perform tricks or pranks. They live somewhere in the Snowdin Forest with their parents and little sister. They volunteer to work at whatever place is hiring, but tend to prefer the Bunny Inn. They hate feeling restricted by things like rules, which is part of the reason for their occupation status. They like the outdoors and exploring, often getting into trouble naturally. They have a short attention span and daydream frequently. They long for a girlfriend but have never experienced (romantic) love.

Strixxa (They/It)

A monster in the underground that generally prefers to keep to themself. They have two base forms. One base form is a star-like creature with a soft glow and eyes. The other base form is a small skeleton form that they only use around people they trust. The reason these forms are called 'base' forms are because they can take characteristics from each form and make a sub-form.

They were around during the times of the war between monsters and humans, even being a soldier back then. However, they never tell anyone what the war was like aside from bland, non-descriptive statements. They're able to levitate, and often do so, especially to be eye-height with other monsters. They never part with their scarf, no matter where they are and the temperature, yet nobody knows what it's importance is. They're close friends with the king, Alphys, and Gerson. They usually reside in New Home or Snowdin. They know how to sew, often making or repairing their own clothing. They also happen to enjoy munching on sugar cubes, a treat every now and then.

this is probably the first thing I ever drew for StarFall... and whew, you can tell it's old just looking at the way I drew skulls!

This features both Stalactite (left) and Pincushion (right) sitting together and chatting in Waterfall together. granted, i've tweaked both of their designs a bit since drawing this.. but oh well, it's nice to reminisce (sometimes) :]

The Story

But something else is going on here.

It's been a couple (2-3) decades, roughly, since Frisk fell into the underground and the events of an UnderTale neutral route took place. After the fight with Omega Flowey, Frisk passed through and the barrier remained unbroken. Asgore, the king, was resurrected as a result of a recent breakthrough on behalf of the Royal Scientist team shortly after. Toriel had left the throne decades ago without any word, leaving monsters to assume she had died.

The monsters are becoming restless, forming groups and concocting protests to take place. Some are giving up hope on ever leaving the underground, some are getting more persistent about their cause. Science has been venturing where it might not necessarily be wise to.
