Evan didn't even have time to reply before he was being pulled in another direction. And by someone he barely even talked to. His eyebrows raised even higher when she mentioned shopping. "There's still enough time to find her something. Why do you even need me?"

“Yeah, you’re coming with me.” Claire said, grabbing Evan by his arm and dragging him away from his buddies. “Lucinda’s birthday is coming soon and we are going gift shopping.” she stated, looking up at him. “Walk faster, Rosier, we don’t have all day.”

Shortly after his parents’ death, his boggart was his own death. Slowly, it took the additional form of his aunt’s and cousins’, as well. But he hadn’t expected it to take the form of Lucinda’s death too now. But it did, that night, and he was still shaken by it. That’s how he came up with the idea that a date would be perfect to change his mind. But even as he waited for her in the common room, his mind could only go back to that memory, so much that he could barely notice anything of what was happening around him. Even when she came out of the dorms, his mind was far too gone to realize it.

If anyone had told him he was going to change so much in the first two months of school, Evan would’ve never believed them. But it happened, and all those plans he had made to act against muggleborns, he wasn’t so sure about them anymore. He didn’t just care about imself now, he cared about Lucinda, and he’d hate himself if any of those silly plans backfired and hurt her. But mostly, mostly about the one he plotted with Nixie. So when he saw her, all he knew was that he had to make her drop that plan. “Gaunt, you need to stop this.”

He was quite mad at this dare, but there was no way he could answer that question. When he finally spotted Stefan, he tapped on his shoulder to make him turn his way. “This means nothing.” He just stated with an annoyed sigh before letting his lips crash onto Stefan’s.
