i saw the words “ur not the first person in your lineage to be queer” and it’s rocking me to my core. how many generations down the line did one of my ancestors feel the way i did, feel differently than i did and so damn queerly it was a crime? how many of us were there? did they have hope? did they find peace? i don’t know. at the very least, maybe i am proof their identity was never wasted. reincarnated.

#recently found out that i have a great-greagreat-aunt #(that my grandma knew and that i've seen pictures of) #who was very beautiful but never found a man worth marrying #so she lived her whole life with her (female) roomate and business partner #at this point of the story i was looking at my grandma like 'this sounds familiar' #and she did say that maybe they were together #and that's when she dropped that bombshell on me: #the 'business' part in 'business partner' #was a lingerie shop #anyway i can't know for sure if my great-great-great aunt was a lesbian #but let's just say that there is reasonable suspicion that she wasn't straight lol
