Well unfortunately my life is. I wish it weren't though...but anyways, I've had them for weeks now. Every night, without fail. Is that bad?
Tumblr media
No, I can't say I know the answer to that.
Sometimes life doesn’t truly seem realistic either.
Tumblr media
How long have you had these dreams?

How...how would you know that? I mean, yes, they do. But that would be ridiculous. My dreams aren't even realistic.
Tumblr media
No, I can't say I know the answer to that.
Do the dreams feel like memories?

Is something wrong?
Tumblr media
No...at least, I don't think so. But my dreams have made me quite sad. Every time I wake up, I feel as if i've forgotten something terribly important. Like someone very close to me. Its odd, really.
Tumblr media
No, I can't say I know the answer to that.

Well I can't say there have been any great transitions in my life, but I would appreciate one right about now.
Tumblr media
Thank you though, Doctor Hopper. I realize that was a bit of an odd question.
No, I can't say I know the answer to that.
It could mean a great transition in your life, there to emphasize the wonder of the color in the city. Other than that, I can’t say I’ve heard of it before.

Are you sure? My, that's disappointing. I thought that black and white dreams might mean something. Oh well, maybe my dull life is affecting my dreams now.
Tumblr media
But perhaps they do mean something. I could explain more, and then maybe you might know why my dreams have been so strange. Its always black and white when it begins, but then I find myself in the same colorful city, filled with strange people. Always the same city. Do you think that could mean anything?
No, I can't say I know the answer to that.

If I Only Had A Brain// FTL Self Para
Prompt: Friendship
Walking along the yellow brick road was beginning to become tedious. The scenery would change every short while, but aside from that, everything remained rather dull. She supposed the large city of...whatever they were called, possibly munchkins, was enough excitement for one day. Even so, she couldn't help but hope that she would experience something even more exciting on this little journey.
She was walking through a cornfield, though still on the road, when the road diverged. She crossed her arms in frustration, "Well what exactly am I to do now?" Dorothy examined both paths, deciding quickly that neither looked like the better option.
"Well you could always go that way," a voice called, nearly causing her to jump in surprise. Quickly she spun around, peering through the corn stalks. She saw nothing, aside from corn and a rather expressionless scarecrow. Huffing in frustration, she turned her attention back towards the decision at hand. Which way to go...
"Then again, you could always take the other path," that same voice spoke again. She turned and faced the scarecrow, her eyes narrowing. It's arms were now pointing in the opposite direction. "How very strange," she muttered to herself. It wasn't as if scarecrows could talk. That would be ridiculous.
Even so, this land was stranger than anything she had ever imagined, and she could not be too sure.
"Did you just...talk?" Dorothy asked aloud, trying not to feel ridiculous at the thought of her asking a scarecrow a question and expecting a response.
She waited, and he said nothing. After several minutes, she rolled her eyes. "Fine then! I'll find my own way." She turned her chin upward, marching defiantly down one path.
"Well good luck with that then," she spun around when she heard the voice again, seeing that the scarecrow's arms were now at its sides.
"So it was you! You can talk!" She hurried over to stand next to it. "Now now, stop all this nonsense and speak to me when I'm looking at you. Its rude to talk behind people's backs you know."
After a moment, the scarecrow's face softened, "Well there aren't a whole lot of things that I know. You see, I haven't got a brain," he told her, rather matter-of-factly.
She turned her head to the side, "But that's silly. How can you talk if you don't have a brain?"
He thought for a moment, "Well, I'm not really sure. All I know is that there's nothing but a handful of stuffing in my head. No brain."
Dorothy thought for a moment; she had an idea. It was crazy perhaps, but an idea nonetheless. "Well," she began, "I'm headed to see a great Wizard, in Emerald City. He's supposed to help me find my way home, and if he is as great as people seem to think he is, maybe he can help you find yourself a brain."
The scarecrow smiled, "Really? Do you think so? Boy, what I would't give to have a brain!"
She grinned, "Alright then. We'll go to Emerald City together, and we'll see if this wizard can help the two of us."
He thought for a moment, "But if i'm going to go with you, I suppose I should know your name, miss."
She smiled, "Dorothy, you can call me Dorothy."
When he smiled back at her, it was as if her worries shrank back. Here she was, in an unfamiliar and strange land, alone. But now here was someone to keep her company; a friend. She supposed that was what she needed, to get through such a place. She had been wanting for an adventure, and perhaps friendship would be the best adventure of them all.

Oh that's right! It would seem I've forgotten to start looking for mine. I guess I should thank you for reminding me, even though you didn't mean to.

I don’t know what I should go as this year. I need to start looking at costumes.

Ah, well, my parents never really had a say in what I did with my life. They...died, when I was too young to remember. My relatives raised me instead. But the point is; I do understand you. I think if I had been allowed to make my own choice and follow my dreams, my life would be a bit less dull.
Tumblr media
[She follows him outside, locking the store behind her] A wolf? In Storybrooke?! My, that sounds strange. I've never seen any sort of wild animals quite like that here. Though one time, when I was daydreaming of course, I thought I saw a lion. Ridiculous, isn't it? [She laughs]
The store is a bit slow today.
As different as we are on the outside, it is nice to find someone who might understand where I may be coming from. Parents mean well with making your life decisions, though I do wonder how different life might be if I had followed my own dreams.
Tumblr media
There were rumours of a wolf running about… have you seen anything like that? [He steps outside the door to take in a breath of fresh air] I believe it was Emma Swan’s reasoning behind taking out our town sign. I’ve never actually seen it for myself, so it would be nice. The most wildlife I’ve seen are a few deers and squirrels that have taken up residence in the the tree at my estate.

"Really? Well, I think magic is a wonderful thing! Its unexpected, and mysterious. I would think its a fine occupation, really. I guess I know what you mean. My family tends to make decisions for me as well, despite what I want to do. So I guess I understand how you feel."
Tumblr media
"Well, then I guess we'll have to explore the forest then! Its lovely, I promise! There is always something new to be found. I get tired of seeing the same things every day, so I like to explore a bit." She closed down the register, motioning towards the door with the keys in hand. "We can get going now, if you want?"
The store is a bit slow today.
I cannot truly express how relieved I am to find a fellow magic lover in this town! Much less an another adult! My parents, bless their souls, always thought of it as a childish thing, so they pushed me towards a “realistic” occupation. So, I always assumed that most felt the same way, which clearly I was mistaken about.
Tumblr media
Adventuring in the forest? I’ve lived in this town for as long as I can remember, and I’ve yet to actually explore the surrounding forests. Believe it or not.

Well, that would be wonderful, if it were true. I would love a more exciting life, so I can't say being a storybook character would disappoint me. Maybe that's why people might want to believe it? But what am I talking about? It's silly!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was brought about by like a little kid. Why on Earth anyone would believe such a thing is such a strange thing?Of course it is interesting, but to actual believe it is just, no.

Inside of a book? Well, that seems silly to me, but also interesting. Do people actually believe that?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Talking all about how we are in a book or something like that? It’s strange and doesn’t make sense.

But of course! I would love to watch your tricks! Magic is wonderous, and I haven't seen any performers like that in Storybrooke. Its all very exciting!
Tumblr media
Wonderful! I would really love some company. I usually end up adventuring in the forest, but we could do whatever you like, really.
The store is a bit slow today.
I do happened to know quite a large number of tricks, actually. Before the fate of a dentist was decided for me by my parents, I used to spend a lot of my free time practicing magic tricks. Would you? That is exciting to hear! Never did I expect anyone to be truly interested in seeing them- not yet, at least. I haven’t had nearly enough time to prepare a show, displaying my full potential as a magician.
Tumblr media
Oh? How ever could I turn down an offer like that? I would love to assist you on whatever adventurous plans you may come up with to pass the time.

Kennedy was extremely grateful for the man's kindness. Some people wouldn't act so selflessly, but he didn't hesitate. Though, his position as a ranger of the forest might have something to do with his actions. Even so, she couldn't help but feel thankful.
She pulled the jacket tightly around her arms, relieved to block out some of the cold. Her heart sank when he told her of the road's conditions. Her family wouldn't really be disappointed, seeing as she was only in their way when she was home, but at least it was better than being stuck in the woods. At the suggestion of taking refuge at the sheriff's station, she grew hopeful once more.
Despite the her cold and wet state, she almost smiled. She had been yearning for excitement, and here it was. It wasn't exactly what she had hoped for, but in a way, her wish had come true.
Once he had helped her onto the horse, she relaxed a bit. They would get out of this, she was sure of it. He mounted after her, and it occurred to her that she hadn't told him her name. She smiled a bit, her trembling finally coming to a stop, "Sorry, I guess I've forgotten to tell you my name. I'm Kennedy Barnes. I live on a farm on the outskirts of town." She paused for a moment, then continued. "Thank you. I didn't think anyone had heard me."
