This may be an unpopular opinion but I like Rory. She's smart, sweet, and a good person. who worked hard. Does she make mistakes or bad choices, yes, but that is part of growing up. Heck, even adults still make bad choices/mistakes. Rory was so young when she first started dating Dean. He was her first boyfriend and then when Jess came along, she felt this pull towards him that she probably didn't understand. He was different from her and did things she wouldn't dare dream to do. She was young, inexperienced with boys, and was confused about her feelings. She also had Lorelai praising the ground Dean walked on while hating Jess which no doubt made her even more confused. She didn't want to let her mom down. She says in her graduation speech that Lorelai was the person she most wanted to be like and Lorelai liked Dean. So, on top of raging hormones, there was also confusion over her feelings for Dean and Jess, and not wanting to let her mom down and not wanting to hurt Dean, no wonder she didn't handle things the best.
Cheating with Dean and stealing the yacht were obviously wrong choices. I see that cheating with Dean as wanting to go back to something familiar during a time where everything was changing at college, she was failing a class, and Lane just moved back. Dean represented familiarity and a time when she felt happy. Stealing the yacht was also an impulsive reaction to feeling like her world was just turned upside down by being told, she didn't cut it in the career she had dreamed of and worked hard for all of her life.
She is flawed and makes mistakes, but she is still a good, sweet person and I like her.

The (original) series finale
There is nothing like watching Lorelai and Rory driving up to the Town Square and seeing everyone waiting for them.
Zack and Jackson running to the Jeep with umbrellas to help Lorelai and Rory. (I don’t care for Zack, but man he’s great in this episode).
The look on Babette, Ms. Patty, Liz, Lane, and Sookie’s faces as Lorelai and Rory walk in to the tent.
Specifically the look on Luke’s face. He is just so proud of Rory.
Richard and Emily showing up. Richard’s words to Lorelai about what a special person she is to have inspired this outpouring of love.
“It is an honor to be your grandmother, Rory Gilmore.”
Luke and Lorelai’s reunion, duh.
I love this episode. I hated that the series ended, but it was such a great ending.

Weird societal impact of Lorelai getting pregnant young...
Just something that kinda struck me on the last rewatch. Do you think its possible that Lorelai giving birth so young really rocked the generational relationships for Emily and Richard? Their kids (Lorelai and her class) grew up together but presumably Rory is like 6 -10 years older than the next rich kid generation. So Richard is a grandpa and dealing with fathers. And while that seems like semantics it is different in a conservative world. Jason is a 'baby' in that world and yet Lorelai already has a college age kid at that time. Richard knows Tristan's grandparents but also Logan's grandparents. So other than being just being scandalous, it really messed with Richard's business relationships.
