Mei, MK, and Macaque watched in thinly veiled horror as the monster of the week knocked Wukong away, sending the Monkey King flying back into a mountain, slamming into it with enough force to make the rock crack. There was a beat, dust blocking their view for a moment, and then it cleared enough for them to see Wukong pulling himself out of the indent he’d created, leaping back down to the ground, setting the staff down beside him as he rolled his shoulders to get the stiffness out of his back. The three of them collectively let out a sigh.
