Struggling to write with the rest of life going on, honestly. 

I told myself maybe I’d pop out a quick zutara fic to get the words flowing again, but that hasn’t happened either.

Hello!! How’s the project going?

Basically it’s all written and waiting for sprites, backgrounds and background sounds except the endings where we have an ‘unstitched’ Malady with us. And technically I could just make those endings not an option and call the writing done, but I don’t want to lose the option of taking her with us ‘whole’ and the Mare-Malady interactions that are possible there. 

Finding backgrounds will be a challenge, and given the state of the world today if anybody happens to get a photo of an abandoned/empty coffee shop type of place (bonus if trashed) we need one that the Monster!Anti ran through, and they’re hard to find.

Here's the scene you see after dying to Darkiplier in Choose Your Mistakes. 

The two ending clues - reflect and hiding with the dolls, are randomised references to two other endings, for the completionists or just clues about how not to die.

Heyho, hows the CYM production going??

Slowly, but it is progressing. 

I am so dependant and grateful to have a team of people who can help me and check the continuity while my brain is frazzled. Everything blurs after a while otherwise. 

Let me grab you a choice map to show you where we're at.

The Lore endings are accessible only if you Let Dark In, which means every other choice is death. They reveal a fair amount and I hope you enjoy them when you get there. 

I've written the stitched, cryptic Malady parts (where her eyes are stitched shut) and am working on the unstitched parts. So if there's burning questions you're desperately hoping I wont forget to answer, now would be the time to remind me as we're almost all written, and she's at her most explicitly talkative. 

For those wondering, the red, green and purple squares on the right are the post-death scenes for Dark, Anti and Mare. I'll try to upload the Dark demo shortly. 

Lots of backgrounds, sprites and sounds still to go, and a few gameplay tweaks (like autosaving). But the bulk of the story is almost there.

Yup. It is a bit of a hinderance getting day to day things done, I'll admit. 

And sleep deprivation and nausea do not make a good combination for tying together loose plot ends. But I am trying.

Sorry I just realised how long it's been since I first stared following you, and then I started to worry about my perception of time in general. I don't know if it's been a year or more since your last post, and if it's only been a few months I do apologise. I simply wanted to ask if your still writing these days, or if you'd moved on to other things? 😊

No mate, I haven't ‘moved on’ as such. Just, stuff happened. 

Namely I got pregnant, had major nausea for 3 months, ended up in hospital for a week. Getting back into the saddle gradually. 

Trouble was I was up to writing the end pieces, pulling together all the threads and clues dropped in the other 80% of the story. And trying to remember everything when you've got pregnancy-brain is not necessarily the wisest idea. The last thing I wanted to do was to drop all the balls I'd been juggling and pull a Game of Thrones. 

Also, I lost the login for this account and only just got it back. Blaming the pregnancy brain again on that one.

I haven't been following this blog in ages but holy crap that trailer was soooooooo good! I'm excited to see where this is going! (Also, it's good to see Corn Chip is still Corn Chip.)

Thank you! When there's more sprites I might do the whole song. I really just wanted to show off @amaurapond 's work, since those sprites look so much like the original characters.

Been a while, so I thought I'd better assure you all that I'm still here, and still working on Choose Your Mistakes. 

A lot of writing has been done. In fact, there's just a little over 6 scenes to go, sorting out all the many endings. This picture is the scene map for the Cloudnovel, and the colors mean:

Yellow: The text is written and copied in.

Purple is written but not copied in, yet. 

Orange has complete text, and backgrounds. 

Pink has complete text, and backgrounds, and character sprites!!

So it is progressing! We are trying our best between real life but we are getting there. 

Continuity checking is going to be a pain in the backside though.

This is super random but I’ve always been interested in the people Dark has in his mirror thing. Do they each represent something or? Are they like Malady? Did she actually replace them?

You know the phrase ‘practice makes perfect’?

D’you think Malady was Dark's first anything? He's been trying to take people apart to figure them out in different ways for a long time. Anti just counts the pieces. Some were more interesting and satisfying than others. 

He didn't release them. One in particular was quite important.

idk if anyone's asked this before but why does it say "You have lost your soul to Darkiplier" if it doesn't say "You have lost your soul to Antisepticeye" (since it just says Anti)

No reason in the first drafts, I guess Anti has a more casual friend feel to him, while Darkiplier feels more formal.
