Wilhelm Trübner - Great Dane with Sausages: "Ave, Caesar, morituri te salutant" (1877)

Apapently, the artist's dog was a really professonal model, patiently sitting still with the sausages hanging over his snout while he was being painted. During the work, Trübner had to leave for a while to get the door, and when he came back, he found his dog still posing dutifully. Everything was the same, with one minor exception: the sausages had disappeared without trace. (source, in German)

Hobby journal : today I think I have finished the horse fabric, for this side at least, and I started the heraldry freehand.

Also, I had this plan for one of my adeptus Nautilus marine and decided to take advantage of mermay to start it ! OK, it's still not may but I taking a bit of advance in the hope that this year there will be a new paintpotchallenge on Instagram.

2mm Celtic village: mould, unpainted, painted

Took a beginner sculpting/mould-making class yesterday. It was FX/film-oriented, but we're talking similar principles to poured miniatures anyway.

A proper ringfort would've been larger, with a proper gate and all that, but this gets the point across on the tabletop. With 2mm Ancients seeming to be the most common period I've personally seen at that scale, starting with appropriate scenery makes sense. All my 2mm stuff currently is Renaissance, but that's likely to change in the near future.

Overall, I'm happy with this as a first mould and I'm excited to continue sculpting and mould-making until I have pieces I'd feel proud of seeing on others' tabletops.
