Put yourself out there!
I don't know about you guys, but I often get annoyed at the lack of Norse pagan/myth resources out there. But one day I realized, I could change that and so could you! Put your ideas out there! Even if it's one post, or one video, or one picture! You never know how helpful that piece of media could be to someone! I would also argue that doing stuff like that is a great gift to the God's because we continue on their stories, their legacies, and the traditions of their people. So make the post! You can do it! <3

A short prayer to Loki <3
Feeling inspired, and i've wanted to do this for a while so here you go!
Hail Lord Loki, bringer of gifts, God of laughter and warmth, keep my joy steady and bountiful surprises near, keep my bonds strong and my home warm, may I continue to honor you, hail Lord Loki.

I love Loki :3
Prayer to Loki
[[ A prayer I wrote to Loki as I attempt to find purpose and joy ]]
Loki, turn my sorrow to laughter 'Til the hopes of younger days return.
Loki, change my woe to excitement As the pains of hurried nothings burn.
Loki, turn my grief to happiness. While the aches of missing pieces heal.
Loki, change my fear to blissful mirth Until I know joy: loving and real.
Hail the Smiler, Hail the Knot-Maker, Hail the Storyteller, Hail Loki!

“Paganism is dead”
No man it’s just not organized and that’s the way it should be, creating a monoculture for paganism is potentially extremely dangerous to its themes of individualism and personal practices . Yeah we don’t have temples or pilgrimages but that’s because the grace of the natural world/ our deities can be found anywhere and everywhere we don’t need temples our own bodies are pagan temples. Our own flesh and bones are structures of divinity to us, we make altars in our houses and make those our blessed places. Most of paganism is heavily private of course you think it’s dead that and anytime western culture is faced with a polytheistic system it has an absolute hissy fit.

I've been so frustrated with researching recently, nice change of pace. :)
I often see people lamenting how difficult it is to research norse myth. No story seems quite consistent through time and space, no interpretation is exactly the same, no pre-Christian group even believed in exactly the same way… Would it not be easier if nordic religions came in one, monolithic package— all fossilized together into a single block? But one comes to realize that they don’t, and it’s proof of their wonderfully diverse nature. Oral tradition in Scandinavia, dating back long before the Viking Age and surviving into the christianization period, was unbelievably alive and organic. And taking it all in is a joy in of itself— not necessarily seeking to acquire a single answer to every question we as heathens find ourselves pondering, but rather, appreciating the myths for what they were: ever-evolving, ever-shapeshifting.

Ways to bring magic back into your life <3
⋆˖⁺‧₊⋆˖⁺‧₊⋆˖⁺‧₊⋆˖⁺‧₊⋆˖⁺‧₊⋆˖⁺‧₊⋆˖⁺‧₊⋆˖⁺‧₊⋆˖⁺‧₊⋆˖⁺‧₊⋆˖⁺‧₊˖⋆
Gonna be so fr, my craft and spirituality haven't been at the forefront of my life and mind recently. So here are some ways I still kept that connection!
Express a bit of reverence to animals you may see that have a relation to one of your deities. Whenever I see a crow or raven (correlation to Odin for me) I like to say or think "Hail Allfather Odin" Just a small thing that makes me feel more connected.
I also like to play with and take care of my dogs in the name of Lord Fenrir >:) Yes I venerate Fenrir a bit, he's cool and I like him :)
Write magic-y things to do in your schedule if you can, for instance my thing I try to do at least a couple of times a week is to shuffle my oracle deck and take a look at what's up.
If you aren't feeling motivated at all, try to relate it to something you are motivated by. Makeup? Do color magic, same goes for painting your nails! Video games? Devote your kills (if applicable) and energy in that time to Odin >:D (I do that it's fun)
Overall, have fun with it! Much love, stay prosperous baddies <3

LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK!!!! Yes, is Loki a bit of a trickster, of course. Does he get into trouble (in my opinion its because he knows he'll be able to get out of it one way or another, think of it like a sneaky toddler lol) But he is still everything that ^notthesomefather^ said and more. If you refuse to give Loki a chance, you may need to de-construct your practice. Idk gimmie your guys's two cents!
This is a good blog about the norse deity Loki.

Man, I see this especially with people who look to get a surface level of understanding towards paganism. I have had family who have looked up sources to try to understand Norse paganism and always go for sites with a Christian view point as that is what they relate to. That's fine, but it isn't the most truthful look at paganism. I try to let them know that but you know how people can be lol. Especially when they don't want their main view point changed or to expand at all. Kinda cringe tbh :P
Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely adore deity depictions made by artists online. However, it sometimes gets unsettling when deities whose aspects are centered around entirely nonviolent concepts are drawn as hyperviolent, warrior-type of characters. This is especially common in depictions of Norse deities. I can understand why this tendency would be, considering some of these depictions are made for promoting video games, and such. It’s plenty more surprising, however, when such drawings can be traced back to pagan sources. Now, this highlights a larger, more concerning issue: the general perception of Norse deities by pagan informational websites. It gets easy to distinguish between the pagan sources I want to look into and those I want to avoid, based on the general image of some deities that they choose to present. I know I’ve talked about this in the past, but if you spread information on Norse deities but depict them all as “warrior Gods”—by only relying on hyperviolent representations even in the case of more “peace-oriented” deities for example, it shows you don’t care to go deeper than your surface-level understanding of a mythological pantheon that’s filled with diverse figures and nuance. And it’s especially concerning when this type of perception is spread by websites that advertise themselves as being 100% factual and unbiased. These types of sources generally reduce deities to a fixed list of aspects (“This or that deity is the god of this, period”) and it doesn’t help new pagans at all to explore the pantheon and their own perception of it. (This tendency is especially common on New Age websites, as they also tend to put up lists of unmovable correspondences while reducing the importance of UPG and personal belief in deity associations.) It doesn’t spark skepticism, reflection or curiosity. Let me illustrate: if someone who’s questioning their spiritual path and considering becoming pagan sees a super intimidating and ferocious depiction of Óðinn, accompanied by the caption “He is the god of death and war:))” (implied: he is the god of mostly that), they will likely not consider right away other important aspects of Óðinn as a deity, such as his association with wisdom, poetry, the afterlife and other, vastly more nuanced elements of his myth. Websites who present hyperviolent depictions of pretty much all Norse deities, even in the case of Frø or Njörðr, more often than not have some sort of ties with the far right or even sometimes with white supremacy. At the top of my head, I could even name at least two folkish pagan websites I stumbled upon simply because I was baffled by the images they put up online and sought to see who’d commission such pictures. These sorts of website also tend to reduce deities to a handful of personality traits and this can lead new pagans to view them as entirely two-dimensional. It’s a dead giveaway for sources to avoid, in my opinion. If you are a new pagan who seeks to better understand a deity’s areas of influence and general personality, I would advise you to double-check sources, to keep researching and researching until you’ve consciously made your own opinion of them. Don’t right away believe the very first source you stumble upon. This is all a personal thought I’m trying to express as clearly as possible, and if any of you guys have anything to add, don’t hesitate to share your own thoughts and experiences! I would be delighted to hear about them.

Divination Drinks: Teas to Aid in Divining
Tumblr media
Divination in all of its forms (tarot reading, tasseomancy; palmistry; pendulums, etc,.), can be quite exhausting and require large amounts of energy. These teas and tea blends will aid you in divining by enhancing your psychic power, and/or boosting your energy.
Tea Blends:
Psychic Tea (Scott Cunningham)
3 parts Rose Petals
1 part Cinnamon
2 parts Yarrow
Brew the tea, strain it and drink a cup before performing any form of divination as this tea enhances psychic awareness.
Tea for Divination (Moura)
1 tbsp China black tea
2 tbsp Lemon Balm
1 tbsp Rose Hips
1 tbsp Mugwort*
Brew the tea, strain it and drink either before divination or sip during/throughout.
Teas:
Jasmine Tea
Jasmine is said to induce prophetic dreams, which can aid in the growth of psychic power and psychic awareness making this tea a good choice of drink to be had before divining.
Drink 1 cup of this naturally sweet and fragrant tea before sleeping the night before you wish to divine.
Vanilla Tea
You can brew your own or buy ready-made Vanilla tea/tea bags. Vanilla enhances psychic ability and allows the benefits of this enhancement to be better felt and absorbed.
Drink Vanilla tea before and during any divination work to open yourself up and be more receptive.
Peppermint Tea
Peppermint tea heightens your psychic sensitivity, as well as working to clear the mind and sharpen focus. It can also be used to cleanse the mind and body of any negative energies beforehand.
This tea should be consumed before any psychic or divination based activities.
Some Other Things to Consider:
Some herbal tea blends may not be to your taste but this can be remedied by adding honey to taste.
Other herbs, such as Cinnamon, are used to add oomph to magick and can be added to tea blends and teas to do just that. If you don’t want to add pre-ground and grainy Cinnamon to your drinks, you can use a Cinnamon stick to stir instead. This will add the oomph you’re after without altering the taste too much. If you want to make your brew even more potent, stir clockwise. This adds positive energy to your tea.
[* = This herb is harmful to pregnant or nursing women!]

Things to put in your book of shadows
Of course, only put in your book of shadows/grimoire what you want. If you don't want to put certain subjects in your book then that's fine. It's your book, utilize it how you want. This is just a masterlist of ideas that I've put together. Feel free to add anything else to the list that I may have missed, because there's absolutely no way I included everything.
And for the love of all the gods, if you come across a closed entity or practice, don't try to work with the entity or practice if you're not already part of that group or tradition. You can research it but don't practice it.

Ways to Remember Moon Cycles 🌙
Tumblr media
⋆˖⁺‧₊⋆˖⁺‧₊⋆˖⁺‧₊⋆˖⁺‧₊⋆˖⁺‧₊⋆˖⁺‧₊⋆˖⁺‧₊⋆˖⁺‧₊⋆˖⁺‧₊⋆˖⁺‧₊⋆˖⁺‧₊˖⋆
Let's face it, moon cycles are hard to remember. How many times have you missed a new moon? Girl, to many to count! No one is perfect, and that's ok! Here are some ways you can remember the moon cycles so that you can incorporate them into your practice. <3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-Put reminders on the calander on your phone. I feel like this one is pretty obvious but definitely a helpful one nonetheless!
-If you prefer something more physical, you can draw/ write the moon phases on a paper calander. This is for my baddies who prefer to keep these kinds of things on paper.
-Make it a part of your everyday schedule! If you make it a part of your daily routine you won't forget. You could take like 10 minutes out of your day to acknowledge the current moon phase set an intention to it, learn about it, etc.
-Meditate daily based on the moon phase/ change what you are meditating about based on said moon phase.
~I hope you guys liked these ideas and found them useful!~
