saw The Phantom Menace today in theaters for Star Wars day (well the movie started on the 4th lol) and this movie means a lot to me because a) i can say it was the first movie i ever saw in theaters and b) i grew up with the prequels (literally since this movie came out 2 weeks after i was born). it's a fun measure of how i've aged as well as how one of my favorite pieces of media has.

but the most wild thing happened when i went to see it today. a couple sat down next to me with a newborn baby, could not have been more than a week or two old. and all i could think about was that my dad did that 25 years prior. the cycle continues.

When the the First Order is at a wavering war against the Resistance, Emperor Hux travels among neutral planets to convince the people to side with him in exchange for protection and peace. Among the journey, Captain Phasma has assigned the bounty hunter Kylo Ren as a body guard during the travel. At first, Hux finds it somewhat insulting the Captain would bring an outsider to protect him, but upon discovering Ren’s abilities, he finds having a Force user by his side would strengthen his power and grasp on the solar systems he rules over.

Unfortunately our bounty hunter would rather collect his credits and leave as soon as possible. But when an enemy attack forces Ren to protect the emperor and return him to First Order territory, will he be seduced by the might of the empire?

I guess he would be a gray side user. he’s worked close with the First Order and the Republic, but never takes long contracts, only interested in the money he gets to help his goals. Ren has been journeying countless galaxies looking to strengthen his bond with the Force, both through the power of the dark and light side of the force.

I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

been playing a lot of Helldivers recently with randoms and my mic turned off. i forgot that when people assume everyone is a cis man while playing games, they respect you based on your skill level and in-game actions. i often find lower level players following me around (i often go off on my own to do sub-objectives while everyone else goes for main objectives) and it ends up being close to puppy behavior. those guys will follow me to the ends of the map, but i wonder if they'd still do that if they knew i was trans. i used to play fortnite before my voice deepened, and playing random squads was hell due to the instant backlash i got for simply opening my mouth.

just been thinking about this a lot recently lol. shout out to the person who would literally not leave my side who played with me last night. you deserve all the shield generators.
