Eternal Flame Falls sounds like the coolest concept for a fantasy book. A path you follow down into a ravine until you find an ever-burning flame inside of a waterfall? That’s fuckin metal! But it’s not in a fantasy book it’s like an hour away from my house I can literally go see it any time! I remember it like once a month and lose my shit over it every time

So, if you visit Rykad Philia first, you’ll meet Evayne and he’s unharmed, and is super sweet.

Nice to see that sequence in which you do planets actually has consequence(same applies to Navigator station and Rykad Minoris), unlike in act 2, where thus far I saw no difference between doing either Janus, Dargonus or Kiava Gamma first.

Architect Manas Bhatia used AI technology to create “symbiotic architecture,” showing how apts. carved out of Hyperion trees would look.
Tumblr media
The architect questions: ‘Can the envelope in which we live & breathe as creatures do, instead of us dwelling in air-conditioned concrete and glass boxes we call apartments?’
Tumblr media
The result is a surreal series of apartment buildings that take on nature completely.
Tumblr media
Hollowed-out Hyperion trees are transformed into functional breathing architecture, with apartments facing inwards and natural lighting sweeping in to create an illuminated, enchanted natural space.
Tumblr media
In this envisioned alternate future, buildings are not machines made from concrete or steel. Instead, they are live and can grow to accommodate the ever-growing needs for housing.
Tumblr media
Manas Bhatia imagines apartment towers as giant hollow redwood trees that breathe and grow. They are magical, but would they continue to grow if they were all hollowed out and everything?

We also figured out—the hard way—that the ancients probably cut each layer of linen to the proper shape before gluing them together. For our first linothorax, we glued together 15 layers of linen to form a one centimeter-thick slab, and then tried to cut out the required shape. Large shears were defeated; bolt cutters failed. The only way we were ultimately able to cut the laminated linen slab was with an electric saw equipped with a blade for cutting metal. At least this confirmed our suspicion that linen armor would have been extremely tough. We also found out that linen stiffened with rabbit glue strikes dogs as in irresistibly tasty rabbit-flavored chew toy, and that our Labrador retriever should not be left alone with our research project.
