I'm convinced that Alice is Armand. The eyebrow. The way Armand comforts Daniel "she wanted to say yes". The way Daniel remembers Armand's face when Alice is mentioned. It all fits just too perfectly!

And Armand had to give Daniel's mind something instead of just outright erasing a decade of his life, right? What would Daniel have done with such crazy amnesia?

And it's that way Louis always goes back to talking about Alice. He doesn't really mention Daniel's "2nd" wife or his kids. It's always just Alice.

( just for fun! I'm on board with the theory as there is definitely something there.. 👀 )

Possible spoiler ahead for those who don't listen to the soundtrack prior to the episodes coming out...

According to the soundtrack, we'll meet Raglan James this season... Does this mean the body thief is talking to Daniel? We'll have old maniel exchanged to a younger model? Maybe even a Fareed-made younger Daniel-clone or sth?

I hope not... but we'll have to wait and see. What do you think?

Theory about the bit of Louis saying "as long as your there I won't go into fire":

When Claudia dies, there's no reason anymore for him to not kill himself. Considering he's said it to Claudia and not Lestat.

Armand knows that, maybe Louis talked to him about it. So Armand doesn't see any other way to save Louis from himself but to erase/change his memories. Because Armand can't loose Louis because Louis is Armand's only way to connect to the "modern" world (he said sth like that in iwtv iirc, in the 70s Daniel partly played that role for him)...

This fits into the whole "chronicling a suicide" thing that sounded like "vampires are gonna kill Louis when the book gets published" but actually it might more be along the lines of "if Louis remembers all about Claudia/his own role in her death he might throw himself into the flames"

Does anyone have any thoughts on the boy Andrei in episode 1?

I mean... I can't wrap my head around it, yet. But:

Before Armand was Armand, his name was Amadeo. And before that his name was Andrei, when he was still home with his family in East Europe.

Armand must have been around the age that Show-Andrei is in the episode when he was abducted and sold into slavery and both grew up in a rural village with a lot of superstition around and people trying to survive.

What if Andrei wasn't really there, what if Andrei is actually an Armand-manifestation in Louis' mind or something? I'll have to rewatch, but do Claudia's diary entries mention Andrei at all?

Or is Andrei just an easter egg for people who read the books? Or is there something about it i'm just not getting right now? What are your thoughts?

Seen the movie at about 11 or something (don't ask, my parents even allowed it, they introduced me to the movie because i adored Brad Pitt...) then started to read the books out of order because they weren't available a my library all the time. Now the series got me back into VC and i'm rereading the books and Armand's still my most favorite comfort meow-meow of all times!!!

Shu dow-a, shu- biduck habibti, stani stani schway, min fadlick, Sho bit se-wee? The minute she heard any words she knew—however poorly used— She stopped crying. She thought our flight had been canceled entirely. She needed to be in El Paso for some major medical treatment the Following day. I said no, no, we’re fine, you’ll get there, just late, Who is picking you up? Let’s call him and tell him. We called her son and I spoke with him in English. I told him I would stay with his mother till we got on the plane and Would ride next to her—Southwest. She talked to him. Then we called her other sons just for the fun of it. Then we called my dad and he and she spoke for a while in Arabic and Found out of course they had ten shared friends. Then I thought just for the heck of it why not call some Palestinian Poets I know and let them chat with her. This all took up about 2 hours. She was laughing a lot by then. Telling about her life. Answering Questions. She had pulled a sack of homemade mamool cookies—little powdered Sugar crumbly mounds stuffed with dates and nuts—out of her bag— And was offering them to all the women at the gate. To my amazement, not a single woman declined one. It was like a Sacrament. The traveler from Argentina, the traveler from California, The lovely woman from Laredo—we were all covered with the same Powdered sugar. And smiling. There are no better cookies. And then the airline broke out the free beverages from huge coolers— Non-alcoholic—and the two little girls for our flight, one African American, one Mexican American—ran around serving us all apple juice And lemonade and they were covered with powdered sugar too. And I noticed my new best friend—by now we were holding hands— Had a potted plant poking out of her bag, some medicinal thing, With green furry leaves. Such an old country traveling tradition. Always Carry a plant. Always stay rooted to somewhere. And I looked around that gate of late and weary ones and thought, This is the world I want to live in. The shared world. Not a single person in this gate—once the crying of confusion stopped —has seemed apprehensive about any other person. They took the cookies. I wanted to hug all those other women too. This can still happen anywhere. Not everything is lost.”
