Emperor Corvis and Empress Mesmer, rulers of the Outer Realm. Corvis inherited his realm from his devil father, and his power from his godly mother. Mesmer was a noble with an extraordinary gift in magic that caught his eye, and now they rule together, seeking an alliance with the all power Gro of Ozmashu… if he ever considers glancing their way.

He was always there. He couldn’t be mistaken for human for he was too tall, too pretty, too charming. His eyes were wicked despite him supposedly being divine. Skin paler than snow with hair to match and that utterly annoying smirk he seemed to always have on his white lips.
"Sometimes you annoy me so much that I want to start planning our wedding, just so I can very publicly divorce you."
The Hunna snickered, still sitting on her desk and preventing her from working, “And what would you get out of that? Managing to marry me, you a little mortal and me-“
“‘A divine warrior who serves the Holy Drrerar’- I’ve heard that too many times now. It haunts me in my dreams!”
He laughs, “I’m good at getting under people’s skin. Good at making them unable to think about anything other than me.”
He wasn’t an angel, he was Hunna. Something similar, something considered sacred, but they aren’t without faults or wickedness. Vanada didn’t believe they existed until Lith came crashing through the veil into the training yard. Now she’s forced to believe, and forced to endure the insufferable creature until he can return to his world.
Apparently the silence went on too long and Lith leaned closer, “So?”
“What? Something else to ramble about?”
“You never told me why. Why you would marry me only to divorce me.”
“Publicly. Because while my people would wonder why I would throw you away, your people would wonder how you fucked up enough for a ‘little mortal’ to not want you.”
For a split second there was a crack in his mask. His confidence that Vanada had long suspected faux gave away. But it returned the very next second, making her wonder if she actually saw the insecurity underneath. She knew enough about Lith to know that he was only considering a Hunna because of his relation with the Drrerar, his people’s most divine warrior and general.
“Mind going away? I have work to do.”
Lith rolled his ruby eyes and stood, “Fine, fine. I’ll go grace your soldiers with my presence then. Maybe show them how to properly use a sword.”
“You go do that.”
He left rather quickly but not without his grace. Vanada could only silently wonder about his world, the Drrerar that guards their vacant throne, and whether or not Lith would even be capable of opening the veil once more to return home.
Prompt #1037
"Sometimes you annoy me so much that I want to start planning our wedding, just so I can very publicly divorce you."

“Your name— It burns!”
She was horrified, first by her own stupidity of giving her name to such a creature, then by it crying in pain. It laid on the ground before her, crying and clawing at its own skin.
“No, no- I will not anger Death or her apprentices today! Take it! I beg you! Take it back!”
Sasha didn’t understand what happened. What was revealed in that moment. And she wouldn’t understand for years to come, not until she is swept away into a realm not like the one she grew up believing was the only one to exist.
How was she to know death was etched into her very soul, let alone her name?
A young fey creature just tricked you into giving them your name. They are now writhing on the ground in agony begging you to take it back. You have no idea what’s going on.

“First, magic, now you made her heir?!”
Tyzre has always been backwards despite being one of the most powerful lands in the world. Governors, dukes, kings, and the single emperor. But no one was ever fond of Emperor Iskander. He was too… open about change. And he married an outsider, a foreigner, a woman who was taught magic at a very young age.
Here, magic is taboo and very few get the pleasure to learn it. The most that happens is that children with the gift are taught how to hide it or are given amulets to seal away their gift. No one learns magic leisurely, let alone a little girl. Daughter of Emperor Iskander, but that’s not the part everyone looks at. Her mother, a foreigner, a mage, who came from across the Black Bottom Ocean with pirates— Wolves— and married the most powerful man in Tyzre.
That’s all they ever noticed first about her. Even after her mother passed on, that’s all they noticed. Thought her father’s radical decision to not remarry and try for a son is what shook the land of Tyzre. And his decision to make his only child his heir after abruptly refusing to even marry again, let alone try to have another child, only made him even more unpopular. And her? Yada Iskander, princess of Tyzre, was even less liked.
This begun when she showed promise of magic. The Emperor did not send for one of the court mages to teach her to hide/ignore her gift or seal it away… he hired a tutor. The light in his daughter’s eyes was something he had not seen since his late wife and he refused to see it dim.
Though the original royal line of Tyzre were said to have powerful magic, they long had been lost to time and Iskander’s own family lacked such a connection to the Old Lands. Everyone believed magic would never touch the throne again and they were glad. But… as he watched his daughter learn a simple spell, a ball of warm light to help chase away the unwanted darkness in her room at night, he believed that Tyzre could use that magic again.
“My daughter would make a fine Empress of Tyzre. She’s strong, smart, brave-“
The advisor who had aided the Emperor thus far to teach his child magic despite his own issues against the gift couldn’t remain silent anymore.
“My lord, the kings of Tyzre would disagree against such a thing!”
“Really? The King of Mon-Eir-“
“He is not a good example of what Tyzre needs in leadership! He’s wild, let’s magic flow through him without restraint!”
“He also won us a war… and his mother the war before that. I know the truth about what happened, it was not General Evier who chased the legions of Coveris back, but Queen Sao.”
“My lord! Magic should not touch the throne! Let alone-“
“Through my daughter?”
The advisor silenced himself, hearing the tone of the Emperor drop. He remained silent as Emperor Iskander stared him down. He was done talking about this.
“My Yada will be Empress of Tyzre. If I have to marry her to the single man in this forsaken nation who will let her have power, then so be it.”
“My emperor-!”
“I’m done talking. I will go to my daughter now, she had something she wanted to show me.”
Emperor Iskander did not know what he had done in that moment. Giving his daughter that light, sealing her fate to the throne. He would not live to see it all come into play for his unpopularity would come with a sharp price. But… he would live long enough to make his daughter his heir. Live long enough to watch her blossom into a younger copy of her mother and commune with spirits through magic.
He would find her a man, a husband, who would promise to protect her and serve her, promise to ensure magic is given to the throne once more. Once the agreements were made, once the letter was sent to King Kahhn, Emperor Iskander would be struck down by his own advisor. But, everything was already put into motion. And Tyzre would be pushed into a new age of magic.
In a patriarchal world where magic is strictly practiced by only men, you taught some very basics to your daughter, because you just couldn’t say no to your adorable child. Little did you know, what this would snowball into.
