you're the first person i've seen ever acknowledge that jaeden is mixed! it always makes me feel weird to see people's headcanons about the race/ethnicity of the loser's club because they spend so much time on the others and then are usually p dismissive of bill like "and then bill's just a White Boy" when jaeden's literally the only one (other than chosen obvs) that isn't fully white. idk it always bothers me

It should bother you, because that behavior is clownery! I’m so fucking tired of this fandom dunking on Bill just because he fucking punched Richie in the face (and by the way, the editing on that shot is so bad you can immediately tell Jaeden pulled his punch, I mean we stan an acteur!) 

Like I would get nuanced discussion of Stan’s “race,” and even Eddie’s. But people just consistently pay Mike dirt (even I’m guilty of this), but let me say, Mike is my favorite in the book so far. I mean Stan actually is but nothing is from his point of view, so it has to be Mike.

And after I learned Bill is not Steve’s self insert, but rather based off of a boy Stephen had a crush on… I’m starting to realize that Mike is Stephen King’s self insert. Like he’s the mouthpiece that says every theme in this entire book! And you know why no one realizes that? Because no one cares about Mike and no one has been discussing it. We’re all guilty!

So yeah, I wanted to tread lightly because I’m white, but fuck a bitch who makes Eddie an uwu lightskinned boy. Mike is consistently sidelined in the first place and to take the sheer pain and trauma Mike has endured for his entire life and say “But what if Eddie (and Richie) experienced that instead :)” is so disgusting to me, full tea? I’m not even going to hide how I feel about that.

Again, include Mike if you’re going to do this shit! Center Mike! He is not only a person of color, but dark skinned! You should not even be attempting to approach race in your It fanfiction if you’re white and you don’t even utilize Mike Hanlon!!
