Just tossing this here so non-jewish mutuals/followers are aware, since I think this isn't as well known: Jewish Voice for Peace is as representative of jews as Autism Speaks is of autistic people. That is to say - not at all.

To clarify, I do not disagree with the idea of jews fighting for.. well, peace. I am a big supporter of organizations like Standing Together which pushes for exactly that. The issue is that JVP just makes shit up, often misrepresents or totally messes up jewish tradition (like the time when they misspelled every single hebrew word on their passover plate), and is generally such a car crash that it would be a bad idea to take their comments on judaism at face value.

And you’re standing in the theatre with your mouth full of Ye Olde Poppéd Grains, because. What the fuck what does that mean. Is it a coincidence? Did Hiromu Arakawa base her manga off this forgotten seventeenth century English play? Is the playwright another time traveller preemptively ripping off Fullmetal Alchemist a full four centuries before it’ll ever be written? How the fuck do you respond to this

Btw when I say “antisemitism forges the horseshoe theory”? I don’t mean that there’s a line of political radicalism that only crosses into becoming antisemitism at the ends of the political spectrum. I mean that every political movement among goyishe Westerners has some amount of antisemitism built into it, because Western society is built on antisemitism just as much as it’s built on racism and imperialism. It’s just that people on the radical ends of the political spectrum seem to have a far easier time justifying their antisemitism as a morally righteous act, which makes their internalized bigotry more overt and socially acceptable.

Centrists aren’t less antisemitic at heart than the political extremes. It’s just as internalized in them as in anyone else. Not doing as many overt hate crimes as the other guys is a pretty sorry excuse for allyship if you ask me
