Okay thank you because as much as I’ll forever ship it in my heart I have been sitting here going over this again and again in my brain with the thought of “how was he going to get either of them to do that script when they’ve vocally made jokes about it the entire run and neither were for it” they never took that seriously and Geoff has given himself such a sketchy track record with the lgbtq community and like it’s publicly known they read fanfic in the past to laugh at it :/

hey guys i know we're all excited for grimmons, but we should keep in mind that jason weight is only one writer, and does not control nor own the characters or their outcomes. so not everything he released is "canon" per-say. its more like half canon.

so take everything with a grain of salt and remember that gus and geoff own grif and simmons (and other characters the same) and they are the ones that choose what to do with their characters.

lotsa things to say but i don’t have all the words

what i will say is that the number one reason i’m sad is because this really feels like the final nail in the coffin for the RT community as we know it. throughout all the controversies and bullshit the community has dwindled a lot, and now that the company is gone and all the employees and shows have been left to fend for themselves, it really feels like it’s over

thank you to everyone who made anything for RT content over the years. the art, the edits, the fics, all of it. whether you got five notes or ten thousand, your creations mattered and were the backbone of this community. thank you to everyone who supported RT cast/crew in their endeavors outside of their work, for participating in twitch streams or side projects. thank you for speaking up when the company was in the wrong. thank you for all the years that you made me feel like i fit in here with all of you.

keep making your art and being kind and loving what you love.

trying to pin the rt shut down on warner is really funny given barbara was on reddit like 2 months ago crying and malding and seething about rtx never ever making money the entire time theyre been running it so by roosterteeths own admission they were already a shit company throwing money into the furnance. like they were running rtx before warner even looked at them funny if anything it was a miracle they made it this long.

never mind the abuse, racism, homophobia, sex crimes permeating the studio. trying to pin any of that on warner is disingenuous at best and just a lie at worst.

Uh reminder that while WB shutting down the company and making 100s lose their jobs in a moment is shitty….that Rooster Teeth’s history of shitty actions is what lead is here and started well before they sold to any company’s. You can be sad about it and what you liked, hell I have some conflicting feelings because I’ve had some friendships for over ten years now thanks to it and the OG RVB as problematic as it is never fully let go of my brain. But we still need to honestly recognize that this was a final domino in a long chain of them. There are to many people to count who left that company over this past decade who have talked about how awful they were treated and the terrible work environment. Do not forget the awful crunch times the animators were put through….and then they fired the animation department. LGBTQ staff has been treated poorly by other staff and the public without any defense. The really awful handling of the connect the hots incident when Geoff and Gavin admitted to following women in their car as a game. The list goes on and on y’all. You can be mad at WB and other big company’s that’s fine, just remember that the people in higher positions at Rooster Teeth this past decade is why we got here. A lot of us watched this in real time and watched them not do much about it. And what’s really shitty? A lot of the people who contributed to the negatives are going to be fine. The people who are screwed over are the rest of the employees who had nothing to do with it and were just trying to make a living in their dream careers
