Seriously. How is Alex's growth as a character going to be displayed without two of his biggest role models? No June, no Rafael. It's just... So disappointing. I'm so worried that the depth of the characters are going to be scraped to push a steamy romance.

How do you have a red, white, and royal blue movie without the character of rafael luna? like i’m genuinely curious: how the fuck is that going to make any sense???

Okay. They have some serious explaining to do as far as Alex's character development goes. First they removed June and now they're removing Luna? Two of his biggest role models? So the plot is going to be completely different from the book, I guess. I don't know how to feel. It feels like they're removing all of Alex's depth as a character.

The moon bois are autistic, obviously, but Jake doesn’t really stim much. Ok well he does, but they aren’t your typical stims, aka they’re mostly “self harm” type stims like poking the prickly parts of a cactus and hitting oneself

But either after a long period of low self care days or maybe they’re just extremely busy and have little free time, the bois don’t shave, so they grow a beard

Marc and Steven have Jake front because 1. Steven doesn’t know how to shave (and honestly he thought he just didn’t have the genes to grow a beard) and 2. Marc is exhausted from either still being burnt out or is just tired from the busy schedule, so they have Jake shave

Jake goes to shave off the whole beard but realizes that they’ve grown enough to keep a mustache, so he doesn’t shave that

Jake runs to put on his hat and he smiled wide and bounces up and down, giving little flappy hands at the fact he finally looks like how he does in the inner world, or at least a little closer

Steven and even Marc are both shocked but extremely happy and proud of Jake that they allow him to keep the mustache on for other couple weeks-

And when Layla comes over next and sees the mustache Jake fronts and she thought it would’ve been Steven because he was acting so giddy and happy, but the Brooklyn accent with the Spanish thrown in definitely shows it’s Jake-

They eventually do shave it off because it starts causing slightly major sensory issues with Steven but now whenever their beard gets long enough they have Jake shave so he at least gets a few minutes with a real mustache before shaving it off

So funny how people read a book about the trauma of being outed publicly and then proceeded to harass the actors playing Alex and Henry about not being openly LGBT. I feel very strongly that no one would have been happy with the cast no matter what. They could have been exact to the book and people would still find issues with them being cast. It's annoying as shit.

I know the internet is the internet and y’all are entitled to your opinions or whatever, but y’all’s behavior has truly been appalling over the past few days. You’re all entitled to your opinions and whatnot, that’s fine, but harassing CMQ + demanding that Amazon Studios recasts the movie + trying to force the actors to come out is just… not to be a bitch, but what is wrong with y’all? I feel like Tyra Banks screaming at Tiffany Richardson— I have never been so disappointed in a group of people in all my days. I’ve been here since the start, and I honestly expected y’all to behave better than this. This exact ordeal happens every time any sort of queer media is released, and I thought that y’all were going to be capable of being mature and giving these actors just a skosh of grace, but I guess I was wrong to assume that y’all would lol. No, but we don't talk enough about how fucked up Ellen is. Like... My heart breaks for Oscar. Not saying he was entirely innocent but Ellen was definitely the reason that they got divorced. Ellen would literally step on anyone to get what she wants, even her own kids. June said multiple times that she felt like a political pawn and her parenting depended on how valuable you were to her.

Oscar wanted a career in politics too, he wanted to be a senator. He could never fulfil that dream though because of Ellen. Ellen would never let him. That's where the tension in their marriage started. Oscar places his children and his family before his dreams, Ellen doesn't. I think things got really bad when Ellen started talking about running for president.

Oscar wouldn't have wanted to be first gentleman. First the man had to give up his dreams and then he was going to be forced into the white house? Losing all privacy, being a hot topic in the tabloids, an almost certain end to his dreams of being a senator. Absolutely not. I think Ellen did not give a shit how upset Oscar was or how badly she would be uprooting her kids lives, she just wanted to president. She pushed Oscar until finally he couldn't take it anymore and he left. He left because Ellen completely disregarded him their entire marriage. She again disregards him when he offers to assist her with her reelection campaign.

I do think it's funny how two years later she replaced Oscar with a man that was willing to give up his career and his dreams to be her quiet little husband. She just wants a "Yes, dear." man rather than someone that would actually have opinions. Like, that just seals the deal. She can't handle anyone being on her level, she just has to be above everyone else. Alex says that he thinks it was a little messed up of his dad to run for the senate seat in Cali as soon as he got divorced but I don't think it was messed up at all. He'd put a hold on his dreams for decades, I think that he did the right thing.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk. I'm 100% an Oscar Diaz stan until the day that I die. I think it's very telling that he has a stronger bond with June rather than Alex. Ellen is a bad person :)
