Today was pretty good. I found the first 18 volumes of Sailor Moon, though the resolution is a bit eeehhh at times. I don't really have enough vocab to fully understand what's going on yet, but I am watching the anime, so I have a good enough idea, though it is a bit hard to resist the urge to look up all the words that i dont know. That being said, present are two parts which I did understand!

泣き(なき) is one of this week's kanji and it felt really good to be able to see and know what it meant. I have a feeling I'll be seeing it a lot, given Usagi's tendency to cry about everything.

I managed to finish a decent amount of my dissertation work I had planned, so tomorrow is just typing.

Went out for supper today and tried to win a toy from one of those absolutely rigged prize machines 🙃. I didn't get it. There was a raccoon, this cute bunny/cat thing, and a hello kitty one (amongst others). Next time I think I should just try to shake the machine.

24th and 25th Apr; 15 & 16/20doa🚲

the past two days has mainly been a lot of planning and outlining for my internship presentation at uni and my extra credit tests and my GRE (I've been saying I'll do GRE since last year but my procrastination has got me here...if I don't do it before I leave for my masters in July I am pretty much screwed) I got some network analysis work done yesterday and it looked really cool

I spoke to my internship guide yesterday about the next steps and the discussion has renewed my motivation and my energy to work. The catch is that there is a lot to complete in the next 2½ months but I really wanna do as much as I can. She also wants my uni deliverables on her table by Monday which is... a bit of a tight schedule, but let's see.

Other than that, a family friend had a layover at my city on their way back home from vacation so we spent the evening with them yesterday...

amidst all this work I haven't had the time to track my water/fruit intake or my sleep and exercise timings... hoping to get back from the next doa entry, trust 🤞

#i have been kind of irregular on here... mainly because ive been forgetting to take pictures of my day 😭 #its holiday for voting day today so its also the start of a long weekend #turns out i have a million things to complete for uni and i cant find a single right way to track them... #im also afraid that setting up a tracker at this point is taking away from the time i do have to spend on work... but idk man #kind of panicking.... i have internals for a few extra credits on on monday then finals for the same subjects on friday #and my guide also wants a report of all my internship progress on her desk by monday morning... so its a bit.... #i also need to prep to write gre before i move out the country for my masters... i wont have time once my classes start again #yeah. its a whole thing... #i also need to read up on the candidates in my area before i go vote so theres just so much to do one after the other...

had a lazy morning in my pajamas finishing reading for my gender and health seminar while it was raining out

it continued raining which made walking around miserable

fun discussions in my seminar about childbirth stories and folk practices

i got an A on the paper i turned in last month for this class, and the prof emailed me beforehand to ask if she could use it as a model paper, which was so so exciting, i love academic validation

got tacos with a friend after class!

went to my sociology seminar and continued learning about genetic ancestry testing

went to the library to start working on my first draft of my capstone paper due next week

had two hours of dance rehearsal for my cultural show next weekend!

Grad school is lying to you. You can indulge fixations on obscure topics on your own time. You can sit in a library color-coding notes on articles printed from JSTOR for free. You can argue with dead philosophers in essay format whenever you like. Academia is a state of mind.

tuesday | 04.23 | day two of spring break study

things i achieved :

1 hour of studying on duolingo!

𝝑𝝔 progress on learning hangul is steady! i’ve made the goal of beginning to keep a journal on the hangul i’ve learned, which will be started tomorrow :)

finished problems 22-33/42 on third math review sheet + 1 hour and 54 mins of free-timed studying!

𝝑𝝔 i don’t know where my productivity went today… i was so sure i was going to finish the other half of the exam review but my psyche was just off. :/ went for a walk outside and everything but i just couldn’t seem to focus. im glad i did manage to do some work but i did set these goals, you know?

finished my notion home set up!

𝝑𝝔 the picture isn’t really accurate lol. i just finished setting up most of the home page … the other pages still need working on but i love the home page a ton :)
