To everyone collectively agreeing that Hob has a cat: Yes, you are wonderful and I appreciate you SO much. (Bonus points for a black cat)

However, consider.

Hob has a parrot. Hob has a large macaw like a blue-and-gold or a military. Purely because those fuckers live for such a long time. He got it in the mid-90’s as a means to keep him company after his stranger didn’t return to him. He named her Eurydice.

Hob sometimes brings her to class, expressing that she is indeed older than most of the students there, and that she was in charge whenever he left the room for a moment. She enjoys the New Inn, and even though she technically shouldn’t be allowed in, occasionally exceptions are made when it’s less crowded.

Eurydice, or Yuri as Hob calls her sometimes, is very intelligent (even for a macaw). She knows his routine and is very displeased if he breaks it. If it’s bedtime and Hob is still up grading papers, Eurydice will scream at him until he finally looks at the time and heads to bed.

She is also very affectionate, being provided several perches around the house but often opting to sit behind Hob on the couch, or nestled into his neck during the colder months. When Dream finally does return, she takes an immediate liking to him. Matthew is jealous.

Once again, Hob having a cat? Very good and enjoyable concept. I love it dearly. But I hope you enjoyed my ramblings about Hob owning a parrot.
