love letter to mass of the fermenting dregs (
god im so glad i got into motfd when i did, i started listening to them in around early/mid 2020 giving me the perfect amount of time to get well acquainted to their existing discography at the time, then they released you/uta wo utaeba and it was so fucking hype, to know that the band id become a fan of, not having new music for 2 years before i became a fan, suddenly sending out a spark of light saying that theyre nowhere close to done was the best feeling in the world at the time. while they did stay quiet for the next 2 years again, just as i was about to lose hope they'd make new stuff, i see them post on instagram, revealing a whole new full album, including a feature and a new genre theyve never done before*, (*Helluva, feat. Taigen Watanabe from BO NINGEN) im so happy to have witnessed the current peak of their career right as it began. I feel like despite the fact i missed out on so much before i started listening, its better that way, because i could NOT have been able to handle the various members leaving and the disbanding from 2012-2015. that said, i made sure to understand why it happened when it did, because its the context for the existence of the songs endroll and tantantan, and knowing that makes me appreciate them even more.
despite only listening to them for 3 years, mass of the fermenting dregs has made a huge impact in my life. even if i dont understand the lyrics most of the time, it doesnt stop the sheer energy from their music reaching my heart, and how they convey it so well. they want to evoke feelings and theyre going to make sure you feel them, and feel them hard.
it may be coincidence, but the past three years, being the most terrifying times in recent history, mass of the fermenting dregs played a huge part in letting me know that in the end, everything is going to be ok. especially with you/uta wo utaeba, their music (among other, more direct things) helped me anchor me to my own self, keeping my nerves down and giving me the ability to switch to a better state of mind that only few others can achieve. even in their more energetic music, it still draws me in with the swirling rhythm of guitar, bass, and drums, and a voice that shouts past my ears and into my heart, even if i dont understand it (mostly)(yet).
another thing theyve influenced is my own musical "career", despite the fact i produce various edm subgenres, listening to their music helps me understand how to use odd rhythms to my advantage, how to take a basic call and response pattern, and flip it on its head for a lasting impression.
i love masudore so much, theyve been such a big part of my life ever since i let them in, and i wish i could share this music with everyone i know all at once and let them experience the same joy i do out of listening to them, even though i cant, due to my own experience being unique and unable to be replicated. in its stead i wish that i can introduce people to music that might change their lives like it did mine.

Hello, Tumblr! Due to Current Events, I’m checking in here going forward alongside Twitter. This is an introduction post of sorts for people that don’t know what exactly this account is.
I’m Cheryl Stelli, the one writing this post, and I lead Hajimeli. Hajimeli is my output for my creative projects.
It’s not quite a studio, as separate Hajimeli projects have entirely separate production teams. (For example, Team Vividstasis is separate from Hajimeli despite the fact that vivid/stasis is a Hajimeli production.)
Tumblr media
The current ongoing Hajimeli project is vivid/stasis. vivid/stasis (sometimes shortened to vividstasis, v/s, or vivista) is a vertical-scrolling rhythm game (VSRG) fused with a metanarrative mystery visual novel (VN).
The story follows the journey of Saturday, a teenage girl living in Japan that tries to search for her sister who mysteriously disappeared on a summer night, and gets wrapped up in an unexpected mess involving cultists, memories, and the fourth dimension.
Meanwhile, the gameplay takes a unique but familiar spin on four-key rhythm gameplay, engaging the player in a wide array of difficulty for all levels of rhythm gamers.

(it doesnt control like djmax)
You can wishlist vivid/stasis’ upcoming Steam release here.
That should probably be it for the introduction post, I think. Any questions can be asked to the blog, and I’ll try to respond to them.
You can also find my much less formal (somehow) and more vulgar personal page here.
