I love how LO makes Demeter out to be this overprotective, overly paranoid helicopter mom... and then immediately proves her correct in the first two or three episodes.
Persephone is basically drugged, "kidnapped", put in a stranger's car, and wakes up hungover in an old man's house completely alone with no idea of where she is or how she got there.
Like the first thing one would conclude is that "wow. Demeter was right". And she is. Persephone is better off away from Olympus. But nope, Eros becomes Persephone's friend... somehow.
Persephone's problems just annoy me in general. She's the heir of a massive company (a nepo baby, essentially), she lived a life of luxury and comfort, never without food or struggle, was always kept safe, and was provided with a good education.
Does that mean her desire to do more and see more is stupid? No! Of course not! It's just the way people describe Persephone's life before as "struggle street" and how it's painted as "worse" than Olympus and the Underworld. It just comes off as a spoiled girl complaining to me sometimes.

Imo, LO's writing wasn't that great from the very beginning. Minthe was made out to be this terrible, abusive, slutty bitchy woman with no chance of being redeemed. Why? So that it made the main character cheating on her and the other one knowing she was wrecking their relationship further A okay.
This is childish writing. It's writing I hate anywhere. "Well it's okay for the character A to do this because character B deserves it!" And the audience cheers and encourages it because Character B is a meanie and should be hated and never get a W.
Same goes for Leuce. She's a clout chaser, she's trying to go after Hades and be a home wrecker, she's an attention seeking bitch. Therefore, if Persephone breaks into her home and threatens her, it's okay! She's an annoying bitch tying to "steal" Hades anyways. Persephone is such a girlboss, even though this means she has no faith in Hades and feels threatened by Leuce.
It just frustrates me so much.

It still shocks me that something claiming to be so feminist and groundbreaking like LO started out with a really old man seeing a 19-year-old girl in a skimpy dress and immediately thirsting over her... and this is the main couple that's meant to be so very healthy and better than all those other toxic romances?

A lot of HH/HB fans like to tell critics that they're just mad their headcanons of the character aren't in the show but.... for HH especially a lot of fans have a latched on to fanon versions of characters that were made/developed when there was little to no content out. Hazbin Hotel's pilot is great, but there's not enough to get all of the character's personalities, and those personalities are still rampant in the fandom interpretation, so if some see you critize a character, tf out.
Idk just a tired thought

When I think about Stella, I just get more frustrated, because she's the type of character I dislike. A character that's specifically written to be hated by the audience. Any chance at nuance or a closer look at her character and motivations are thrown at the window to make The Bitch TM. This isn't just me disliking HB though, this is something I really dislike in general.
If she were a once off character that didn't matter? Fine. But she does matter. She is Stolas' wife and Octavia's mother. Her actions are a consequence of Blitzø and Stolas' actions. She is a regularly occurring antagonist, as opposed to the cherubs, who I don't mind being not too developed as they serve their role well and (unfortunately) didn't come back.
Not to mention, there's the fact that there is stuff there that makes you understand, but not excuse her, which the writers brush under the rug because you aren't supposed to think like that. Like the fact that she was married off and forced to have a child, and then her husband cheated on her. That makes this more frustrating.
For me, Stella's whole personality being the angry bitch who screams and swears and abuses the character we must sympathise with is getting old.

The sad thing about HH/HB is that you're not allowed to analyse or explore the characters, not truly. You have to hate the characters you're told to hate (like Stella) and love the characters you're told to love (like Stolas). Any attempt to break from this gets you attacked.
Characters are not as nuanced or developed as they should be because they are meant to be simple cookie cutters of certain traits or tropes, so there is no room to love characters designed to be evil TM (again, like Stella). You are told what to think and interpret, and it's really not fun.

Something I noticed while watching episode 7 was when Tessa was walking past those same lockers the intern walked past and opening them was the drones inside:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is interesting. This is very interesting. I can see they've got those magnets on their heads just like what was used on Uzi in the previous episodes. And, of course, they have the freaky Solver wings that Uzi has.
Also first has "help" scrawled on the door with solver symbol and the only word from the second one I can make out it "you" and maybe "won't")
Nothing huge lore wise ig, but it's interesting too look ut

People need to stop thinking that being able to predict a plot twist or a mystery automatically makes it bad. Twists that come out of nowhere are not automatically good.

Prude. Noun: "a person who is or claims to be easily shocked by matters relating to sex or nudity."
Sorry honey just saying "you're a prude!" doesn't do anything, it just shows you can't read. I don't have a problem with sex in the show at all. I just think the sins are not being portrayed well. Also, I can see you're arguing with a bunch of critical posts. You're purposefully trying to fight with people and make yourself upset. Block the tag and so smt else.
I'm convinced Viv and her stans don't understand what the sin of lust is. Lust is not just a sexual thing. It's desiring something no matter what. So the EMBODIMENT of THE SIN OF LUST saying "consent is important" and caring about consent MAKES NO SENSE.
And then people defend the shitshow that is Mammon with "but there's no good side to greed!" Bitch there's no good side to lust either???? It's lust! It is, and I will say it again, desiring something no matter what. There is not a good side to that.

"It's a show it doesn't affect reality"
Then why do you call people who like Stella or bring up the fact that she was married off as a child "abusers justifying abuse" and "abuse supporters"?

Amazing how you can never find HB or HH critical video without stans being complete idiots.
Someone's response to wanting Stella to have more depth? "But she's meant to be evil" what happened to "It's hell" lmao?
I think it's clear that stans don't know what good writing is, since they insist that because a character is "the bad guy" they should have no personality or development.

I think it says a lot about HH and HB's quality when the only responses to good criticism fans can think of is "then stop watching" "It's not that deep" "You're just illiterate" "so what?" "You're projecting!"

Hey assholes, if a post is talking about the discrimination, stereotypingn and demonisation of a certain or multiple mental illnesses, that is not your cue to go "but this autistic guy was an asshole to me" or "my mom had bpd and she was abusive".
Shut the fuck up. Positivity/awareness posts are not your place to go "ummm actually" and trauma dump. In doing so, you are actively contradicting the op and saying that people with these mental illnesses aren't demonised, but they are all "just like that". Go see a therapist or write a vent post, don't waste people's time with close-mindedness and bigotry.
Yes, this applies to posts about npd as well.

It's funny to me when fans draw/write Alastor not knowing what modern words or terminology means (and of course using this to say he doesn't know his own sexuality in some cases) despite him using modern swears words and saying stuff like "and that's the tea!" In the show. I'm not sure if it's poor media literacy, if they weren't paying attention, if they just don't care, or Viv didn't establish what modern things Alastor does or does not understand well enough
Not really criticism. I just think it's odd and shows HH's inconsistency in a way
