It’s been over a year since I posted on this blog. The main reason being that The second I had an opinion about an American show everyone came after me for going after POC characters...which was misconstrued and not my intention. There was no way for me to really respond to any one person. Tumblr at the time was changing constantly and I was losing threads. Being called retarded and a bitch by anons didn’t exactly make me want to stay on this site. Having a full time job and family I didn’t need the negativity in my life.
I made this blog to have an open dialog with people about books, shows, and movies that I have read or watched. Instead of going to each individual fan page of the shows or movies I thought this would be fun. But sadly the second I said something critical about an actor I was attacked. I might have some biases...who doesn’t? But just because I don’t like someone’s acting style of the material that they were given by the writers doesn’t mean I’m a stupid racist. It just means that I watch way too much TV and have higher expectations for actors that I’ve seen for years.
When you’re a fan of an IP and that IP doesn’t get the treatment that you think it deserved you want to express that. My opinions change with conversation, but yelling and demeaning me doesn’t change anything it just makes me defensive and feel like an outsider in my own fandoms.
I may pick this blog back up in the future, but I’m not sure I have a thick enough skin to deal with anonymous people spewing hate at me when I just want to talk about a show I like or IP I want to do well.

Shadowhunters
Okay, so it seems that the producers of Shadowhunters didn’t bother with the pesky trouble of research when coming up with character concepts. I guess no one bothered to mention that Silent Brothers are old, but not all of them look like walking voodoo dolls. Also, Brother Zachariah...about 19ish when he comes out of his 100plus years of service. So yeah, they age slowly and aren’t all bald with crosses for eyes. Change it up. The Minions have more variety than the Silent Brothers on this show so far.

Final thoughts on Minority Report
I finally got the time to finish all 10 episodes. There was a vast improvement in the back half of the season, but it was too little too late.
The writers waited too long to give Wilmer Valderrama something to work with. It could have been a cardboard cut out for those first few episodes tbh. His character development elevated what is honestly some very bland writing. Why they wasted Wilmer for those first 7 episodes I will never understand.
Meagan Good as Lara Vega didn’t find her chemistry grove until Arthur, played by Nick Zano, became more involved with the story line. Meagan and Stark Sands(Dash) just didn’t work for me as a team until after we finally got a freaking backstory for Vega. When Dash and Arthur went into that machine to help find her father’s killer THAT was for me when the “team” dynamic started to click more. And the episode on the island was MUCH better. Megan found her grove as the authority figure once she was faced with all three PreCogs. Vega was literally like every other cop until The Present, episode 5.
Akeela, played by Li Jun Li, was also getting better stuff to work with later on. I loved her character and was really looking forward to getting to know her better. Wally, Daniel London’s character, was solid throughout the show, but I think that had to do with the fact he was the only actor from the original movie. Loved the sacrifice that he made for Vega and the PreCogs at the end. It was like he was trying to redeem himself for being apart of keeping them trapped in the milkbath for so long. He really was their caretaker and the one who always saw them as people first, PreCogs second.
Pretty much for me the reason this show failed to get picked up falls to the writers. It took too long(for a FOX show) to get off the ground. If this had been on Netflix it might have survived and gotten a second season. Hell, if Syfy would have aired this show instead of FOX, the killer of all things scifi, we would have most likely gotten a second season.
When will Scifi shows learn that FOX is not your friend. If you want your show to die a fiery death by all means sign with FOX. If not you might want to go to Netflix or Syfy.

Doctor Who season 9
Dad: So why is he wearing sunglasses?
Me: ummm...(spoiler already watched episode)
Dad:...*looks at me questioningly* What?
Me: So you see, the thing is...
TV: *scene that explains the sunglasses comes on*
Me: *looks for dad's reaction*
Dad: They didn't *looks back to me* Tell me they didn't
Me: Oh yes...they did *hangs head in shame for our favorite show*
Dad: They made the sonic screwdriver fucking SUNGLASSES?
Me: Well it's not like it was MY idea.
Dad: *judgely glances my way*
Me: I DID NOT WRITE THE DAMN THING! I just watched it before you.
Dad: No...what the fuck?
Me: Trust me papa bear I had the same reaction.

Seriously missing some Danny Pink on Doctor Who lately. Samuel Anderson was great and I loved his chemistry with Jenna. Would have loved to see Danny and Clara as the companions this season, but alas they killed him off and made him all noble giving up his chance to come back to the kid he couldn’t save.

Long Time No Post
Sorry about being MIA on Tumblr for so long. I got caught up in other things and then for some reason the main browser I use no longer wanted to work with Tumblr, and I was too lazy to try and worm out the problem. So now i’m old schooling it on Safari.
I don’t really even know if anyone is even following this anymore…cause again I haven’t checked. This was always just a place to voice my opinions about what ever it is that I’m reading or watching. I’ve read about a book a day for about five months now, but I rarely review them on Goodreads. I wanted to use tumblr for that but with the whole brewer debacle it went by the wayside. I might talk a whole lot about one thing and then just have a short little something about something else. Still not sure what I want to do with my blogs. A year can change a person and my interests might not be the same as they once were.
I’m a much better talker then I am writer so this is going to take some practice to get this going how I hope it will be. No promises for future posts, but I’m trying to do something productive with all of the things I consume i.e. TV, movies, books, music.
I’m a forgetful person so hopefully I can remember to come back here and just put up some random posts every once in a while.
congratulations/thanks for reading this rambling thing of nothing.

You Who Came From the Stars: With Only One Episode Left Who Will Get Their Happily Ever After?
With only one episode left there are many things that need to be wrapped up.
Evil Hyung's father is most likely going to feed him to the wolves now that he's learned that Evil Hyung murdered his eldest son. I'm sure that's what the phone call to the lawyer was about. I'm not sure they're going to spend too much of the final episode dealing with a trail. So it will most likely wrap up with a confrontation at the jail/prison with the Father and Hwi Kyung giving him a stare down.
There are the very minor character story lines that I would love to see a little bit of in the final episode. One of them being with Yoon Jae. Not only getting more comfortable with his father, but I also want to know how his fellow students will react when they find out he's the younger brother of Chun Song Yi. I just love how badly he wants Do Min Joon to be his brother-in-law. Another minor character that I hope makes an appearance in the final episode is Bok Ja, Song Yi's school friend. And I just love the little detective and Se Mi's brother. How funny would it be if there was actually a wedding and Bok Ja meets the little detective and he likes her, but she sees the prosecutor and goes all goo goo just like she did for Min Joon. And that idiot CEO of the entertainment company...damn...can Hwi Kyung just have an entertainment agency for Yoo Se Mi and Chun Song Yi? Maybe even throw in Chun Yoon Jae as well. Hwi Kyung would need to be more business savvy, but if that idiot CEO can do it Hwi Kyung can learn it too.
I'm rooting for a happy ending for Hwi Kyung and Yoo Se Mi just as much as I want the lead characters to find their happiness. Even if they don't end up together I hope that they can, at the very least, gain their friendship back. Hwi Kyung has grown up so much within last these 3 months. I still don't think he's the brightest crayon in the box, but he is showing signs that he actually has a working brain and isn't completely oblivious to his surroundings.
The big thing that's going to have to happen is Do Min Joon will have to "disappear". I can't remember if they ever showed how his kind gets on and off their ships or if the ships can do the "beam me up" kind of thing. If what he is seeing in his premonition is actually just him being brought onto a ship above then he could be healed by his people. Someone already spoiled a kiss scene with fan photos of the filming so I'm a little pissed. But even with the fan photo we still don't know if it's early on in the episode or if it's toward the end. If they don't do a fast forward years into the future I'm going to be really sad, 'cause I want Min Joon's fantasy dreams to come true.
SPOILER:
In the fan photo it looks like a movie premiere. So it must jump at least a couple of months if not a year, because if it's a movie premiere it must be the one Song Yi and Se Mi are filming right now. less than 24 hours to go until the end...writers don't fail me now.

The Fall: Ep. 15 Spoilers
This show has so many fantastical elements to it that I'm willing to believe in, but when something happened without a supernatural element that is so out of the realm of reality I was pulled right out of the show.
Chun Song Yi was at most two stories above the ground when she jumped. The cable stopped her momentum more than halfway down. Then she slammed against the wall and hovered there until finally the last ropes broke off. She was maybe 10ft in the air above MATS to break her fall. She would have been fine if Mister I'm-going-to-stick-my-nose-into-everything hadn't tried to catch her and then land off of the mats. The mats are there for a reason dumb-ass. Just when I was starting to respect the character too.
Falling from that height is like jumping off a one story house onto the front lawn. It might sting, but you'll walk away. At most she would have gotten the wind knocked out of her and a concussion with a few bruises. It would not have sent two people to the hospital in critical condition. Unless she literally landed on her neck or head her life would not be in critical condition.
I'm going to just pretend that she was actually higher up and that the mats weren't there. Because if I don't I just end up laughing every time I see either of the characters in the hospital. Maybe they just didn't have the time to make it look more realistic. If it was a drop without anything stopping her from the height she actually lifted off from then maybe, just maybe, I would believe that they both would end up in surgery.
I can believe alien life from another planet with super powers, but THIS was the thing that pulled me out of the fantasy.

Viki Comments
I've been on Viki for a long time. since the new format a few things have started to bug me. One thing I don't get is why everyone in the comment section of an episode is asking for no spoiler. A comment section I always thought was to discuss the episode. Yes, cheering on the subbing teams is a give-in because they work their asses off. But don't expect to not be spoiled in the comment section of an individual episode. I want to discuss the episode and story/plot lines and not get reprimanded by someone telling me not to spoil it for others. Really? To see the comments you must first click on the the episode to watch and then scroll down. You don't even have to click the episode to see how much subbing is completed. Pretty much I'm just a little peeved about the comment/disqus section because things that are actually relevant to the episodes get down voted because they have spoilers. It's like going to a youtube video and people bitching about others talking about the videos content.

Heirs: Final Thoughts On Chemistry/Relationships With the Lead Characters
Between takes Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye had a lot more chemistry together than their fictional counterparts. They are naturally more playful with one another than their characters ever were. Until the end it didn't even seem that Eun Sang liked Tan enough to go through all the bullshit that was being thrown at them. There was nothing really overly dynamic about their relationship, "dramatic" yes, dynamic...not so much.
Tan's playfulness was always received with shock and dismay by Eun Sang for most of the drama. And by the time they were both being playful and connecting together in harmony they had already been so boring that it was over looked because of the over all impression that they characters had already made on the audience.
I'm sorry to LMH but Woo Bin's acting was just so on point that it was hard to take Tan seriously when comparing the two characters and acting. Early on the show I was confused by the love of the Young Do-Eun Sang fan pairing, as you may have seen by my previous posts. That changed shortly there after my initial assessment.
Considering that Young Do wanted love and approval from a man no one loved there was a real struggle and heartache to his character. Even more so thanks to his mother saving herself and leaving him to a loveless, abusive and volatile household. Tan had a loving mother who, not only loved him, but his father as well. Yes, he was sent away from his family but she was always a phone call away to support and shower him with love and affection. With these two stories put side by side Tan just seems like a winy brat compared to someone like Young Do who is dealing with demons, literally and figuratively.
Add to the mix a girl who, for the most part, is strong and self determined, but brakes down in almost, if not all, the episodes well...not the most interesting combination with one of the characters. She builds up Young Do's strengths and self worth. Holding up a mirror to show him how others perceive him. Showing him the dangerous path that his father has already taken and which he could soon find himself going down. Something even his friends had yet to confront him with. It took an outsider to thaw the Ice Prince and realize that he could be a better person.
With Tan the relationship becomes more of a pity party with no end in site...until the literal end of the show. 'Our loving parents are best friends. How will we survive this high school romance?' *dramatic hand to forehead swoon* Seriously, after a certain point it became pathetic. You know how people say that the best relationships are outwardly boring? Well, with a show that logic shouldn't be implicated when we are seeing them in private settings.
Overall the show was entertaining and interesting enough to hold my attention til the end, but by no means was it amazing and a "must see". If I were to recommend this drama to someone it would almost solely be because of Woo Bin's acting and character development. He played a whole person, warts and all, with passion and believability that captivates and draws you in even with a script that was at times lacking. Making you wish that he could have his own spin off just to see how much more he could bring out in Young Do. The day that they put Woo Bin as a misunderstood leading romantic lead the show will be a hit. 'School 2013' was a school drama and had high ratings considering the content. Woo Bin is one to keep your eye on.

how come i didnt know about this blog yet? ^^ loved your reviews on heirs. are you watching reply 1994?
Not yet. Don’t really know why I haven’t already tbh. I was going to write about ‘Secret’ but every time I sat down to write about it I just got so pissed off by some of the characters that I couldn’t form any kind of intelligent statements/observations. Now that it’s over I could possibly do my final thoughts though.
I should have started watching Reply 1994 earlier so that I could speculate and not be tainted by any spoiler involving who’s with who. Well…I just realized that it’s only 8 episodes in and I only write after every 4 episodes so I can totally catch up this weekend and have 2 reviews (comments/observations) up by next week.
I was also going to write a few book reviews but they got me so hard that it’s taking me a while to recover from the emotional roll-a-coaster that they took me on.
Do you have any more recommendations for dramas I should watch?

The Heirs: ep. 1-12 Spoilers
Over the past 12 episodes I've been looking forward to a few things. One of those things is wanting to see all of the characters at least try and stick up to whomever or whatever is holding them back.
By the time I finished the 12th episode I started to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Mind you, it's a very long tunnel and the light is only a pinprick, but the characters are still moving toward it.
Young Do beat his father at his own game. I like that he didn't have to use violence(which seems to be a go to for his father), but rather he used his head. He and Rachel didn't want the family portrait to happen so he called up the mistress or ex-mistress and boom, photo shoot canceled. Playing dirty, but without any physical harm. Young Do has shown SO much growth in the last 4 episodes. Yes, he still can be a little shit, but the ice prince is melting. At this point I don't think he would intentionally harm Eun Sang emotionally or physically. When he dropped her in the pool it wasn't as cruel or hurtful as tripping her in the cafetiere. She had other clothes and didn't have her cell with her, so her falling into a semi shallow pool wouldn't harm her. I think we can all agree that Woo Bin is one of the best actors in the whole show. He plays Young Do's emotions so well and convincingly that you understand and believe what he does. The subtlety of his expression when he gets the whole picture with Eun Sang's mother and their situation. The only time he really raised his voice was when Eun Sang was scared he might reveal her secret. He was hurt that that's what she thought of him. He saw himself through her eyes and he looked hurt and confused. I'm starting to see why people ship Young Do and Eun Sang. He is protecting her, but in his own way. Misguided at times, but he hasn't said one word to anyone although he's known about her financial situation from the very beginning. He's realized (at least I hope) that Eun Sang is breakable and should be handled with care. I'm still terrified about what's going to happen when his father finds out about his infatuation with her. One thing has become clear over the course of the series, Young Do is NOT his father. A bully at times, but we've never seen him treat women the way his father does. (sleeping around going to clubs or bars, which being wealthy he could easily get into if he wanted) We were always meant to like the character of Young Do. Myung Soo and Bo Na wouldn't have stuck around if we were supposed to hate the kid. Also if Tan hadn't come back from the US when he did Eun Sang might have never known the "bad boy" ver. of Young Do. He would have just been the boy at the bike shop and convenience store who showed her attention.
Won is trying so hard to get to where he wants to be. He is a good man, but he feels that he can't trust anyone. Now thanks to his step-mother he really feels that he can't trust anyone. The one person he does trusts(Hyun Joo) is getting pushed away and put down by his own father. I hope with the revelation of Tan's birth being outing will make it easier for Won and not more difficult. Tan is more vocal about his disinterest in the family business and that it's Won's rightful place and not his own. If only Won could really see how much his brother is on his side they could easily team up and overtake their father. I really love the idea of Hyun Joo becoming Tan's sister-in-law because she could help build the bridge back between the two brothers.
Hyo Shin is showing more defiance toward his family. They don't want to listen to anything he has to say. Some might say he's "acting out" but he's just trying to be who he is without all the family baggage/lineage that's being forced on him. In the 12th episode I finally realized that he wants to go into film. I couldn't put my finger on what he was interested in. I knew it was some sort of artistic medium, but for all I knew it was sound mixing. Hyo Shin is trying to say what's wrong with him, now someone just has to be willing to listen. He doesn't have a lack of friends or admirers, so I hope that he'll at least open up to Tan a little more. He was the one person Tan went to with the secret of his mother so it would make sense in my mind that Tan would be the person he could trust with whatever is eating at him. (Anyone else wondering why he's the only Senior around?)
More than half way through the drama and I'm still more interested in everyone BUT the main couple. Yes they are interesting, but I find the other characters and relationships more dynamic and MORE interesting. I don't know why, but with Tan finally growing a pair I hope that feeling will change. Tan should have waited to defy his father until after his 18th birthday though. I'm not sure he'll be getting shares for his birthday anymore. If he does I think he'll give at least some to Won. That would be a good way to show Won that he really doesn't want to take his place and just wants to live quietly.
Still forever wondering why Tan and Young Do don't try to do their own work. They don't want to be apart of their families drama and yet they haven't even really thought about what they would do to be able to take care Eun Sang(protect their relationship with her) much less themselves. How are they supposed to protect this girl from their families influence and power if they aren't willing/making the effort to become independent? They have only ever lived off of their fathers' money and yet they really don't like or trust their fathers. They are teenagers but soon they will be on their own, but what should I expect from 98th and 100th in the class? Hoping that one of them will get a job at one of the same places as Eun Sang. Like come on that would be a great plot device. She can't quit cause she needs the money so they would be able to spend time with her while they learn to live for themselves. Come on writers I know you have this in you.
This post is well past long so I'll end it here. If you read all of this, bless.

Young Do is no different than Jun Pyo was to Jan Di and tons of people shipped them. In fact, most male leads in kdramas, if you analyze, force themselves on the lead women after they treat them like dirt while they come to terms with the fact that they like her. So I'm not sure why you're so surprised that people ship them together.
Personally I’m someone who doesn’t ship until the mutual respect comes into play in the relationship. Misplaced anger can be looked over later down the line/farther into the drama. So I get what you mean by you not being sure why I’m surprised. The longer I turn that over in my head the more I just keep saying “Oh yeah…that happened in ____ too”.
I can see myself possibly shipping YD and ES, but not yet. Not with so little to go on with him being more violent and reminiscent of a conman than kind and protective. The writers are doing a good job at slowly chipping away the layers of YD. I find YD as a character more interesting then most of the others, but then again that could just be my preference toward the actor.
I’m looking forward to seeing how the writers get past the whole tripping and scaring ES shitless cafeteria scene. Cause all YD seemed to accomplish is pushing ES away, right into KT’s waiting arms. The very least YD can do is buy her a new uniform.
So to sum it up…too early for me to ship what looks to be an abusive unwanted relationship/conection. I think my feelings may change in the next few weeks once YD begins to open up a little more and we get to know him better. Hopefully reel in his hot headed tendencies.
One day(not anytime soon) male Kdrama leads will learn to use their words and not attack the girl with his lips. Ask her to come with her instead of making it an order or grabbing her wrist as though she’s a misbehaving child.
Also side note: How awesome was the scene when KT told ES to follow him and she just walks the opposite direction? I clapped for that move, cause I was just telling my mom that I wish that for once the girl wouldn’t follow the guy telling her to go with him.

At this point in time in the drama I don't quite yet feel that the male leads are really ready for a relationship that WILL turn their whole life upside down. They aren't strong enough to stand up for themselves much less a poor girl whose mother is a mute live in maid to one of them.
But this is a Kdrama like you said so reason can/goes out the window. It's not the real world, but I still wanted to point out that they have to mature and grow before they try and really fight to be able to openly love/court this girl. If Young Do would have acting more gentlemanly toward ES from the beginning she might not have been as afraid of him as she seems to be now. But she sees that he is lonely and doesn't have anyone who he trusts enough to tell secrets to other than Myung Soo who, lets face it, is kind of absentminded. But BECAUSE of his friendship with Myung Soo I have given more points to Young Do's character.
I can see the good in both Tan and Young Do just like I can see the bad/poor judgement in Eun Sang, but teenagers are not the final product of their life. I'm hoping for this show to cover more than a semester or year at school so we can really see how they change/over come what is holding them back from their full potential.
I'm just glad that the "lead male" isn't the massive A-hole at the beginning but rather moving past that part of his life. And what girl doesn't have a soft spot for a bad boy?(Young Do) But "bad boy" and abusive are two very different things with a very thin line separating the two.
My views on similar relationships in 'Secret' are vastly different because of the circumstances with the characters and their overall arc. I'm totally neck deep in kdrama-land with that show. AKA looking past certain character flaws for no other reason than "because he didn't know"
and thank you for commenting I really enjoy the discussion aspect of social media cause it's meant to be social.
A lot of people have been saying they hope that Eun Sang ends up with Young Do and I have to say I was not only shocked but worried for the people who were just arguing that he was sexy and hot. Woo Bin is sexy yes, his voice alone makes me go all fangirl, but Young Do is not Woo Bin. Woo Bin and…
