If you're taking requests, could you do Gurney Halleck teaching the reader (either female or gender neutral) how to play the baliset?

The soft strumming of the baliset echoed through the halls of Castle Caladan. Being plucked from the calloused hands of the War Master, the nine strings reverberated along with the lyrics of hymns from Gurney.Â
(Y/N) heard him play many times. But, it seemed like each time Gurney played it sounded sweeter and nicer than before. It was also a sight to see. The instrument lazed against his shoulder and between his legs; while his hands waltzed against the frets. It was the contrast between the baliset and Gurney that made it comical in a sense.Â
He was this rough man, with a hard shell. Not even the salt in the ocean would be able to erode at his exterior.Â
The baliset seemed to provide a sort of gentleness and comfort, for both him and the people who listened.Â
It was the thing (Y/N) saw now when they walked in. They gazed at him sitting with the baliset in hand. Him focused on what to do, sitting against the wall in the training room. His gray shirt blended seamlessly into the wall.Â
âAre you going to continue to stare?â Gurney spoke, barely above a whisper. His voice held an amount of amusement at (Y/N)âs observance.Â
âWould it be bad if I did?â They retorted as they walked closer to where he was sitting, âI thought you liked it when I listened in?â
âNever said I didnât.â he chuckled out softly as they sank down next to him.
(Y/N) watched as he continued to play with such skill. He had been playing for so long that they didnât remember a day where he did not sound as good as he did now. He had been improving from amazing to excellent.Â
âWould you ever teach me how to play?â They asked.Â
âIf you wanted to learn I would happily teach you.â He assured.Â
âWell then I do want to learn.â (Y/N) pushed as they looked Gurney in the eyes.
âOkay,â Gurney started, âcome here and Iâll teach you.âÂ
Gurney moved the baliset for a minute so that (Y/N) could move to sit between the War Masterâs legs. They pressed against Gurneyâs chest, hardened by fighting and training, and got comfortable.
âYou alright?â he said.Â
âYeah,â
Gurney moved the instrument to sit on (Y/N) shoulder and their legs. He guided their fingers to lay against the neck of the baliset.Â
âThis is the neck of the instrument,â he whispered in (Y/N)âs ear, âas you already know it has nine strings.âÂ
He plucked a singular string.
âItâs tuned to the Chusuk scale, which isnât surprising because itâs from there.â Gurney muttered.Â
âTry arranging your fingers like this,â he said as he moved (Y/N)âs fingers for them, âit may seem uncomfortable, but after a bit of practice youâll be fine.â
âAlright,â they responded, âhow long will that be? I can feel my hands cramping up.â (Y/N) joked.Â
Gurney moved their hands off the neck and moved them to rest on the body of the instrument.Â
âIt can take awhile,â Gurney replied, âyou should practice to get better, but stop if your hands are cramping.âÂ
âGurney, that was a joke.âÂ
âItâs still good advice,â he declared, âshake your hands out and then move them back to the same place where I had themâÂ
âSo demandingâŠâ
Gurney would continue teaching them how to play. Correcting their mistakes with a gentle tone before telling them what to do instead, and reminding them to stretch their hands ever so often.Â
He shared his love for music with them and the unannounced continued to grow every single time he taught them to play.Â

A Scintilla of Happiness (Chapter 2)
Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen x Mentat!reader
author's note: This is a bit of a shorter chapter. In this chapter of my life, I'm doing a ton of studying of exams :/ so I made this kinda fluffy to make up for it. The normal angst will be back soon :0
warnings: mentions of violence and killing
wc: 871
(Not beta read, we die like Feyd-Rautha)
You were beginning to settle in well to your new job on Geidi Prime. Of course, waking up and leaving your room to see bald heads and beady eyes caught you off guard. Until you remembered where you were. The work was fine, the environment on the other hand was not.Â
The food was bland, the tile froze bone when walking on it, and the halls creaked and ebbed with no contentment. Almost like they didnât want to be here too.Â
The walls and I are the same. We both cannot leave.Â
It was easy for you to deduce you were homesick. Even though where you grew up wasn't tender or loving, just studious. The Harkonnen castle, per se, wasnât tender or loving. You should have loved it there. But maybe it was the lack of hair, color, or company that didnât flinch when spoken too, and a baron who was just gross at best.
It was easier to work and work until the day was over.Â
When the Baron didnât need your assistance, you would sit in the library buried in stacks of film books that waited to be used. Along with rows of them, standing like soldiers at attention, waiting to go back to their shelves, their homes. You learned more about the planet and the Harkonnen involvement in the spice trade. There was not much more to learn, but it kept you busy.Â
Today was the same.Â
You sat in the expansive library absorbing as much information as you could. Language and roots, music, math, and anything else. It almost got boring, but once it did the next stage in your routine would happen. It was a scintilla of happiness in your cold dead world.
Like clockwork, you could hear the faint gait of the Baronâs nephew, Na-Baron Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, begin to walk over to the giant door that separated the two of you. The tracks would get louder and louder before finally reaching the door.Â
75.4% of the time he would stop and turn around, leaving to go back to training, which is all he ever did besides partaking in violence.Â
But, the other 24.6% involved him walking through the door and only being a meter inside before saying something along the lines of, âwill I win today?â in a slightly joking manner, with a smirk on his face. Even though he knew he would win, he always asked, and you said yes. Because it was true, not because you wanted to see the content look on his face, never.Â
Instead of him walking away today, he entered.Â
âIf you are here to ask about the probability of you winning your match, then I think you know your answer.â Amusingly, you say it, not looking up from your work.Â
âWho said I needed to ask?â he hissed, âEveryone knows I will.â
It wasnât like him to be that short with you. It was higher by 60%. It was the way he spoke to people under him. You were under him, but he didnât speak to you like that, especially at this time.Â
âRight,â you mutter while putting your work aside and looking up at him, âIâm sorry for assuming, Na-Baron.â You put your hands onto the desk and intertwined them together.Â
âI know you had a meeting with the Baron today. Can I hypothesize that it went well?â
He tensed up like a man turned to stone. You knew that he had a complex relationship with his uncle. It didnât take your skills to figure that out. But when you asked about meetings before, he never tensed like this.Â
âMy uncle has decided that I will start to train more often,â he revealed, âIs it safe to say this will pay off?âÂ
You ran the calculations in your mind. But there was a little voice nagging you the entire time.Â
If the Baron has him train more then he wonât ask about his chances at his normal rate. But either way, his winning rate should increase with ample training.Â
âYes,â you assure, âwith the training you are going to receive now, it is likely your strength will increase 3%-5% per week. That number may seem low, but the value of 5% will increase by the week.â
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
After that interaction, you began to see him less and less.
You saw him even less when you found out that the Baron was giving you more work to do. He asked for your advice more and more. He assigned you and De Vries to research plans. And worst of all you had to start following the Baron around along with De Vries.Â
Your time in the library was gone, and your sanctuary was lost.Â
The plus side was that you were always with the baron during meetings. Meaning you saw the Na-Baron and were able to speak with him. Even if it was just him asking you easy questions and having your input, in the quiet time before moving onto a new meeting point. Â
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
âWhat extent would the fallout be if I killed a duke of another planet, Mentat?â
âIf he had a sufficient army and they found out it was you, they would wage war, Na-baron.âÂ

wc: 1158
Being sent to Geidi Prime was not surprising for (Y/N). She was a go to for the emperor to send to planets and sort out political issues. The part she didnât expect was being arranged to marry Feyd-Rautha. His actions were the surprising part. The way he fought and his prowess in and out of the arena. He was overconfident, even arrogant. But, since he was going to be the new governor of Arrakis. Why not give him a wife who could take care of business when he is off slaughtering. After all, is that not the duties of a wife?Â
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As (Y/N) was sitting in the mammoth Harkonnen dining room eating breakfast alone, she started to look over the letters she was sent from people who thought her marriage was a death sentence. That it was only good for securing a short alliance with houses that the Harkonnens wanted to import from. Everything went along the lines of,Â
Your husband will kill you once youâre not of service. Youâre nothing but a pawn for him.
Think twice before asking for mercy. That will make it more amusing when they kill you.Â
You should've gotten away from the emperor when you had the chance. Other places need you more.Â
While she knew what she was getting herself into, the acceptance that she would die, at the hands of her husband, disturbed her.
Those feelings washed away when she watched him fight. It was entertaining for everyone watching and for Feyd-Rautha himself. But, for (Y/N), it was a testament of what he would do for his wife. The wedding day vows of him not letting anyone hurt her, touch her, or disrespect her. Because sure, Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen was a harmful man who wasnât afraid to kill, but that meant his wife could say whatever she wanted, no matter how vehemently, and who she said it to, could not disagree, out of fear for their life. It only took one time for this to be instilled, two days after they had gotten married.Â
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
âNa-Baroness Harkonnen, while your idea for this trading route is good. Compared to others itâs mediocre at best.â The imperial advisor scoffed, âWho ever said it was your place to make these things?âÂ
The other people at the sides of the table chuckled along with what he was saying. But (Y/N) knuckles were tensing up at just how hard she was gripping the arm of her chair at the head of the table. White hot anger flashed through her mind and over her eyes. Â
The advisor kept on going, mocking her ideas and diminishing her accomplishments on other planets, saying they were mere flukes and shouldnât have been taken seriously.
â... and your marriage to the Na-Baron,â he snorted out, not realizing that he was walking through the door now to listen in on what his wife had to say, âhe chose an alien from a different planet, not a Harkonnen highborn. At least that shows to us you wonât be around for much longer, so we donât have to look at your atrocious ideas anymore!â He finished, guffawing.Â
âAre you done?â replied (Y/N), smirking, as she saw the angry look on her husbandâs face, âbecause I think there is someone behind who would like to speak with you.âÂ
As the advisor turned around he saw Feyd-Rautha glaring at him. Before could say anything, Feyd grabbed him by the neck and threw him against the wall.
From the outside of the room, you could only hear the screaming of the poor advisor, who had dared to speak badly about the Na-Baron's new wife, as he had his head stomped in by the Na-Baronâs boot.Â
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The letters now seemed irrelevant to her now. She had a good life so far on Geidi Prime. She had respected and she had earned it too. But it did help to have a husband who invoked fear in those around him. Speaking of her husband, the doors opened and in walked Feyd.Â
âWhy are you here?â She questioned while looking up from her assortment of papers, letters, and documents, âWhy arenât you training?âÂ
âI finished early,â He uttered as he began to walk closer to the table with his bloodied knife still in his hands.
âWhile I don't mind you sitting with me,â She said, not surprised at the fact her husband had a knife that was covered in blood, âplease clean your weapons off before coming to visit.âÂ
Feyd reluctantly took a cloth that was on the table and wrapped it around the knife before setting it down.Â
âYou say you donât want to change me and yet you make me follow your rules.â Feyd retorted in slight irritation.Â
âRules donât necessarily imply change, Feyd.â She responded, âI just donât want blood on the table while eating. Iron is a very important part of one's diet, I donât prefer it in the form of blood.â (Y/N) joked.Â
âThen what do you want me to change!â he shouted angry at his wife for not asking him for anything, including change. Because he knew thatâs something she strived for and he just wanted to make his wife happy.Â
(Y/N) was not scared by his outburst, she had been witness to many of them, but none of them pointed at her before.Â
âI donât want to change you, Feyd,â She said as she got up from the table to walk to him, âyou would fight for me, defend me if I needed it.â She stopped right in front of him and gently grabbed his forearm, âwhy should I try to change you when I respect who you are?âÂ
Feyd looked at his wife who treated him like an asset to herself. It surprised Feyd because he had never heard her say something about why she needed him. Only the reasons why she didnât. But even then it wasnât words that came from her, voices from other planets. The confession of his wife tugged at a place in his chest, a feeling that he hadnât felt before. He took his rough hands that were calloused from fights and placed them on the soft skin of his wifeâs jaw near her ears.Â
âThen use me as your sword if someone needs slashing,â he whispered as he laid his forehead against his wifeâs, âand use me when someone disagrees with your ideas and plans.â he continued softly, âIf someone chooses not to hear you; I will make them, no matter the cost.âÂ
âThank youâ (Y/N) said softly, knowing she had that man right where she wanted him to be. She now knew that Arrakis would be hers if asked. And it was in her cards and plans to ask soon to take over spice production when they would leave, under the guise of allowing him to hunt down a well known fighter.       Â
And why would he say no to her?         Â

It wasnât a surprise to the residents of Castle Caladan to see Lady Jessica and her lady-in-waiting, (Y/N), walking around the luscious gardens of the castle late in the afternoon. Them arm in arm strolling past yellow, red, and orange flowers blooming in the cool air of Caladan, talking incoherently.Â
âDo you really think Paul is the Kwisatz Haderach?â (Y/N) questioned, knowing the plot that the sisterhood had been planning, âItâs a generation too early.â
âI do.â Lady Jessica responded, âHeâs shown the signs. The reverend mother Mohiam is visiting later before we leave. Sheâs skeptical as well.â She added, poking a bit of fun at her partner.Â
âAnd if he fails the test?â (Y/N) asked, âNot saying he will or not.â
âThen I would be wrong.â Lady Jessica utter quietly.Â
âI donât think Iâve ever heard you doubt yourself about this.â (Y/N) chuckled, âand you using âwrongâ and âIâ in the same sentence. But if you are right about him, which you most definitely are, then heâll be fine.â
âThatâs easier said than done.â she chortledÂ
âYouâve taught him everything he needs to know.âÂ
âThatâs very kind of you to say.â Jessica said as she looked at (Y/N).Â
âYouâre welcome.â (Y/N) added while turning her head to look at the woman beside her.Â
As they continued to walk around the garden, they spoke about what needed to be done on Arrakis, what needed to be brought, and what needed to be gotten rid of. It was rather domestic they way they mentally sorted through silverware and bits and pieces of furniture like an old married couple. Their lighthearted arguments of whether or not the ornate chess table needed to come along.Â
âYou cannot just leave a gift behind on a planet weâll never go to again.â Lady Jessica declared.Â
âA gift that was given almost a hundred years ago, my lady.â (Y/N) retorted, âand besides when have you or anyone here last used it?âÂ
âThe point still stands, maybe even more so.âÂ
As well as soft affection to each other too.Â
Other people in the castle also noticed these interactions as well. Gurney Halleck once spotted Lady Jessica with her head on (Y/N)âs shoulder as they were furiously arguing about whether or not Paul should learn universal history or mathematics first. Lady Jessicaâs augment won with the fact that Paul would one day be duke. And dukes need to know what caused several wars which spanned centuries. Duncan Idaho was privy to see them argue with each other too. He saw them in the expansive library debating Bene Gesserit tactics and plans, while their knees ever so slightly tapped each other, more than once and in while.Â
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Everything changed once they got to Arrakis though. There were no afternoon walks because of the scorching sun, there were no more arguments on what should stay or go because there was nothing to leave, and there were no more soft moments spent that lingered because they didnât have that time anymore. Only after the battle at the Arrakeen, traversing the desert to find safety, and finally meeting the Fremen would provide some form of sanctuary.Â
In Sietch Tabr, (Y/N) and Jessica were in a tiny bedroom they were given. Both of them had their hair messy and tangled, eyes set back into their faces with new purple eye bags now making their appearance. (Y/N) was walking pacing around their room, back and forth like a fish in a pond back home. Lady Jessica sat on the bed with her hands gently tucked onto her lap and one leg over the other.Â
âYouâre tired, arenât you?â Lady Jessica asked.Â
âWe all are,â (Y/N) remarked, âmy tiredness doesnât sum to the tiredness of the people and group.â As she continued pacing.Â
Lady Jessica moved back onto the bed so she was sitting in the middle of it. She crossed her legs over each other.Â
âCome here.â She said, ârest, even if itâs only for a minute.âÂ
(Y/N) stopped in her tracks. She looked over to where the red headed woman was sitting. Her features lit up by the soft, golden light that seeped through thin cracks in the rocks. Her beauty was a thing that would always be captured in (Y/N)âs mind.Â
âAlright,â The woman whispered as she walked over to the bed. She sat on the bed and slid back until she could comfortably lay her head on Lady Jessicaâs lap. (Y/N) took her hands and laid them on her stomach as the red head started to smooth her hand over (Y/N)âs head.Â
âWhat do you make of some of the Fremen calling Paul the âLisan Al-Gaibâ?â (Y/N) commented.Â
âI think it gives us an opportunity to give the people what they want and have been waiting for.â Jessica shared, âThey, also, need a new reverend mother.â
âDoes this mean youâll drink the water of life?âÂ
âIâm not sure yet,â she swallowed, âI havenât given it much thought yet.âÂ
âYouâll need to go to the south, Paul will need to go too if you do decide to drink it.â (Y/N) whispered, âYouâll need to go either way after becoming reverend mother.âÂ
âI know.â Jessica sighed out as she continued to brush her hand over her head, âBut all that can wait for tomorrow, rest.âÂ
(Y/N)âs eyes would soon begin to fall as they got more and more heavy. The soothing nature of Jessica touching her head made her feel calmer than she had felt in days. Her muscles slowly began to relax and her head didnât feel as tight and weighted as before. It didnât take long before her eyes were fully closed and she was asleep, asking in the presence of Jessica and the love that was between the two. But the last thing she felt was Jessica pressing a tiny kiss to her forehead.

.
âHe calls himself the Redâthe Red Hood,â The goon talking to Black Mask rasps. When they first wheeled him into the office, he didnât seem so hot, and that's not counting the practically full-body cast he was in. But now, watching him recount the way his ass was brutally whooped, itâs a whole new low.
Black Mask sighs in unison with you. You should probably stop spending so much time with this man, or the next thing youâre going to pick up from him is his anger issues, âSo youâre saying,â Black Mask begins, and you can feel his oncoming temper tantrum in your bones, âThat this fucking nobody is the reason sales have dropped fucking ASTRONOMICALLY SINCE MONDAY!â
âWell, sir,â You interrupt calmly, tapping away at your tablet, âHe is the reason drug sales have stopped, but itâs really because he recruited many dealers to work under him, especially those who were working under you first.â
Black Mask stands up from his desk, and you can see each of the men standing in his office tense at the same time, âHE NEEDS TO BE FUCKING GONE!â He yells, punctuating his words by striding over and smacking a punch into the face of the nearest goon. The man groans and staggers out of the office, most likely to take himself to the hospital.
âYes, I understand that, sir, but he can most likely beat all of our men,â You explain, evening Black Mask with a steady gaze, âProbably all at the same time.â
Black Mask huffs and waves away the man reporting to him, and heâs wheeled out of the room.
âPut a hit on him,â Black Mask instructs you, waving you off as well, and he dumps himself back in his desk chair to brood.
You smooth out your pants and nod before turning and walking back to your office. Communicating with the underbelly of Gotham was hard enough, but finding a good enough assassin to beat Red Hood? That might be your biggest challenge yet. You resign yourself to several days of conversation with bigheaded crime lords.
.
You sigh as you take the stairs up to your apartment, keys rattling as you dig them out of your pocket. Today had been a long day, and youâre looking forward to flopping into bed as soon as possible. You fiddle with your keys and the lock for a moment until the door swings open with a creak. Dropping your briefcase at the door, you then fold your coat over the couch. Burgers actually sound pretty good tonight.
Thereâs a creak behind you.
You calmly make your way over to the kitchen, rolling open one of the drawers andâ
âYour gunâs gone,â A voice says behind you and you whip around, glaring at the direction the voice had come from.
âWhat do you want?â You snap, bracing yourself for a fight you will probably lose. Youâre an assistant of the most dangerous crime lord in Gotham, you have people to win fights for you. The voice sounds masculine, too, which means, most likely, a stronger opponent.
Thereâs a slight huff, and a man steps out from the shadows, his face is still obscured, but looking at his body you are so going to lose, âI want your help,â He says. What the fuck does that mean?Â
Who is this guy? Youâre not easily recognizable as the Black Maskâs assistant, so this person must have done some research. Heâs obviously here about the Black Mask, because thereâs not much else important about you other than your job, âIâm sorry, but I donât think thereâs much I can help you with.âÂ
âYouâre very calm, arenât you?â Thereâs humor in his voice when he speaks, âI donât know what else I expected from Black Maskâs secretary, to be honest.â You narrow your eyes at the comment. Youâve relaxed slightly, leaning your hip against the counter. Maybe if you could find a way to get to your front door before he could get to you, you would be able to get out.
âThe point being?â You cut to the chase, exhaling sharply out of your nose. This will most likely end up with you being tortured if this is a man trying to get information about the Black Mask. Youâll fold easily, your loyalty to the crime lord is stretched thin.
This is the Red Hood, you realize with a start. Who else would want to take down Black Mask like this other than a man trying to challenge his rule? Putting up a fight would be useless. Looking at the men heâs killed, heâs obviously very skilled, and he carries guns with him as well. At least he wonât beat you to death, since most of his other kills are from gunshot wounds. Heâs typically efficient with who he kills. Your death will be clean and simple.
Red Hood rests his hands on his hips, unaware of your sudden revelation, âI want information. I wonât torture it out of you unless I have to,â Itâs a threat, and he says it like one, his voice predatory. It scares you in a way youâve never been before.
âIâll come work for you,â You say rather quickly, offering the best deal that might get you out of this alive. âI have more data about the Black Mask than anyone else. You can take him down from the inside; he wonât know what hit him,â Despite how desperate the words sound, your voice is even, and you look him up and down before crossing your arms.
Thereâs a slight pause.
âYou donât even know who I am,â Red Hood states skeptically. You can feel his gaze sharpen even behind the mask you know heâs wearing.Â
âIâm not dumb,â You snap, crossing your arms and leaning forward slightly, âYouâre the Red Hood.â
Thereâs another pause.
âWell, that was fast. Youâre smarter than I thought, (Y/N) (L/N).â
Thereâs no way to hide the slight flinch at his use of your real name. It feels grounding in a way your adrenaline isnât, âMaybe you just underestimated me, Red Hood.â
He hums noncommittally, âNice place you got here,â He says, suggesting a conversation. His demeanor has changed completely since you agreedâmore like demandedâto work for him. You just stare at him, unimpressed, âI see you donât talk much,â He sighs, pulling a flip phone out of one of his pockets and tossing it to you, âIâll call you on this when I need to talk to you. Be ready.â
He leaves as fast as he appeared, striding through your front door like he owns the fucking place, leaving your heart pounding against your ribcage as the door slams behind him.

A Scintilla of Excitement (Chapter 1)
Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen x Mentat!reader
author's note: This is the first chapter of the mentat series I am writing! I'm so excited for you to see what else I've come up with for this :D (It has now taken the spot for longest thing I've written.) Also go check out my beta-reader @zzleeper!!!!
warnings: house harkonnen, death, mentions of knives,
wc: 1529
You sat on the cold, metal seat of the ornithopter the Harkonnens sent to come and get you from the heighlinder. The scraping of metal startled you when they screeched unexpectedly.
How tragic, you thought, my final moments will take place in a world with no normal sun. And no normal sons either.Â
The entire two day trip on the heighliner was not so bad. You were allowed to wander the empty ship corridors and explore even up to the staff decks. The only part that was scary were the âservantsâ aboard the ship. Their bald heads, that seemed to engulf any light that shined on them, made you feel uneasy.Â
If this is how I feel when I see people like this, I wonder how Iâll feel when I see the baron.Â
They always seemed to look at you as if you were an alien. Which I supposed you were. The color to your skin that made you look more alive than them. It probably scared them just as much as it scared you.Â
As you continued to sit there in the cockpit, thinking about the heighliner, you fiddled with your fingers and did not sit fully still.Â
âWe have a nervous one I see!â Shouted a voice from the front of the cockpit where the pilot was. A voice that had a distinct inflection that just screamed Harkonnen, even if the owner of the voice was whispering,Â
âDonât worry the baron doesnât play with his food.â The pilot laughed out, âBut the Na-Baron, oh boy watch yourself around him!âÂ
As you sat there, mildly disturbed at what you just heard, the pilot went on and on about the things he had seen the Na-Baron do. Almost like he was proud of him,
âThere was this one time Na-Baron took a butter knife off the table and stabbed one of his uncleâs advisors because he didnât agree with what he was saying!â He exclaimed, âOne of my friends was there, he barely survived with just one eye left. Told me all about the story.âÂ
âThat's,â you swallowed so as to not hurl at what you heard, âreally somethingâŠâÂ
FACT: HARKONNENS AND THE PEOPLE OF THE PLANET, IN GENERAL, ARE USED TO THIS VIOLENCE AND ENJOY IT.Â
INFERENCE: DON'T ACT LIKE YOU HATE THOSE THINGS, BE VERY NEUTRAL ON IT.
HYPOTHESIS: IF YOU CAN ACT LIKE YOU FEEL INDIFFERENT ABOUT THESE THINGS MAYBE THEY'LL PUT IN A GOOD RECOMMENDATION TO KAITAIN.Â
âItâs incredible, â The pilot responded, âBut the real question is, why does the baron need another Mentat?â
âAnother good question is whereâs the store that doesnât sell chatty pilots?â(Y/N) retorted, feeling a little sick and tired from the traveling and what they had just heard. Â
The snap seemed to shut him up just long enough before you landed on Giedi Prime.Â
âAbout an hour before we land on the surface, Mentat.â The same pilot muttered in annoyance.Â
Actually, 1 hour, 2 minutes, and 23 seconds. But who's counting or keeping track? Definitely not you.Â
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As the heighliner ramp went down, it allowed you to fully see the polluted land around Geidi Prime. The black sun changed the red, metallic bracelet you were wearing to a dark and shiny gray, almost sliver, instead of its normal vibrance. You saw the guards and their multitude of weapons and dark armor.Â
If they were standing inside, that would be black. You thought, but that isnât a surprising detail.
âAre you ready to walk down, Mentat?â one of the other workers on the heighliner asked.
âYes.â You responded courteously, because you had a pretty good idea of what would happen if you disrespected someone with all the guards and important people around.Â
The ramp underneath your feet was extremely slippery and steep and forced you to take very slow and precise steps to reach the end. At the rate I am moving Iâll get to the end after the sun goes down. You eventually got to the end of the ramp. But, you only looked at your feet the entire time. Once you looked up you saw a man with a black hood and robes, as well as the lip tattoo you had.Â
Thatâs Piter de Vries.Â
You took the final ten steps to walk to him. As you walked you noticed him look you up and down in an arrogant and almost disgusted manner.Â
You put your hand out waiting for him to shake your hand. As you did this you said, âIâm (Y/N) (L/N), the new Mentat.â
Instead of him talking your hand he just continued to look up and down. Most likely reviewing the clothes you were wearing and the way you held yourself. Awkwardly, you put your hand down back to your side.Â
âWell your arrival in the ornithopter was on time. But, the way you traversed down to the ground was quite untimely.â He remarked, âIt must be quite exciting for you to have your first assignment.â He added sarcastically.Â
Just a scintilla of excitement, it would be more if I was not here.Â
âBut, there is no time for talking,â he exhaled, âI canât have you seeing the baron in such attire.âÂ
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You looked around at the small bedroom you were given. The room had a hospital type of antiseptic-ness. The walls were bare besides small vertical groves and bolts into the walls holding things together. There was a little gray desk that had shelves that were indented into the walls above it. Beside your desk, was the little chest of belongings that were sent before you had departed from Tleilax.Â
Iâll unpack that before I go to bed tonight.Â
You turned toward your bed, a relatively small bed with dark covers and pillows. On top of that was a black butcher paper package. On the front of it, in clear print was, TO THE MENTAT, (L/N). In the package was a set of black clothes that looked similar to the ones you see de Vries as well as other people wearing, except without the cloak. On top of the clothes was a note from de Vries himself.Â
(L/N), I have taken the liberty of getting rid of all the unnecessary clothes in your trunk and replacing them with more suitable attire for a Mentat. In your closet, youâll find more of the same kind in the package.
De Vries.
What an asshole.
Quickly, you walked over to your closet and sure enough when you opened it. It was like the same outfit had been cloned over and over again. Black shirt, black pants, and a shiny black belt. Three pairs of black, leather dress shoes were in there too. At the back of the closet, there was a small amount of colder weather wear. A couple of insulated black coats and cloaks.Â
Unwillingly, you shed your bright clothes from the academy for a dreary uniform instead. The fabric of the shirt was silking and smooth, but the pants itched badly when it met your skin.Â
Once you were done, you exited your room to see two, bald headed, slave girls standing outside of your room.Â
âWhy are you here?â You questioned.Â
âWe are here to take you to the baron. Under the order of Mentat De Vries.â The girl on the left said timidly.Â
âAlrightâŠâ you whispered as you closed the door behind you.Â
As you walked through the halls of the Harkonnenâs castle you saw portraits of past rulers who were equally as bald as the next. After four minutes of walking, you ended up in front of a heavily guarded door. From outside the room, you could hear the sounds of yelling, screams, and a thud against the wall. Â
Remember, indifference, and then youâll get your way.Â
You nodded toward the guard, signaling to him you were ready to enter the room. Slowly, the guard opened the heavy, metal door with a slight grunt. Walking inside, you saw a long table that had chairs on either side of it and a huge spread of food on top of it. But, there was only one chair at the head. The Baron was sitting there enjoying the elegant feast on the table.Â
For the baron⊠all that food.Â
You walked past important officials and advisors to Baron Harkonnen sitting in the chairs. You noticed De Vries sitting right next to the baron and opposite two bald headed men. These men were dressed not like the slave or advisors, but men of higher standing.Â
The baronâs nephews Count Glossu and Na-Baron Feyd-Rautha Rabban.Â
Beside De Vries, there was an empty seat. As you walked to sit in that seat, you noticed the younger man who was sitting opposite of you, the Na-Baron, eyeing you down and biting his lips at the same time.Â
He probably picks the member of staff that gets eaten when a couple mess up. Is he imagining me fried or boiled? Â
âI appear to be late, Iâm sorry about that, my baron.â You apologized as you pulled the chair out and sat.Â
âDonât be sorry, Mentat." The Na-Baron jested, "Itâs not a good look for you.â

Jessica and atreides!reader angst? (Mother and daughter angst then yn slowly turns into evil which jessica slowly realise the pattern was repeating)
Metamorphosis
Lady Jessica x Daughter!reader
(Not beta read, we die like Feyd-Rautha)
author's note: If you guys can't tell I really like writing angst. This is also the longest thing I've written so far :). Also trying a new formatting type.
warnings: mentions of death, mommy issues, mentions of blood, mentions of Paul after drinking the water of life
wc: 1145
Lady Jessica did her job halfway right. To ensure she completed her Bene Gesserit mission, gave birth to twins. A boy named Paul and a girl named (Y/N). While the loophole was clever, the Bene Gesserit could not use the daughter she had given birth to. They said she had tainted her womb while bearing a son.Â
Her father, the Duke Leto Atreides, was the only one who actually taught her important things. When she was little she would sit in a stool pulled up near her fathers desk and watch him go through paperwork and meeting notes. While he trained his son to become duke, he trained his daughter what to do in case something happened to Paul. He didnât brush her off.Â
Lady Jessica focused most of her time on Paul. His training, his skills, and his talent. While (Y/N) was taught how to use the Bene Gesserit ways by other members and not her mother. While those tutors did their job well, and she was learning quite a lot, (Y/N) found that her brother, a male, was progressing much faster than her. She was proud of her brother. It wasnât her brotherâs fault, it was her motherâs.Â
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A younger (Y/N) and Paul sat on the damp grass on Caladan on a breezy afternoon. They watched the sun lower into the sky and begin to graze where the horizon met the sea. (Y/N) took small daisies from the ground and started to make a flower crown out of them.Â
âYou know Paul, if you continue to improve at this rate I wouldnât be surprised if you were better than our mother.â (Y/N) praised as she continued to pick and tie other flowers together.Â
âNo, no, no,â her brother replied modestly, âwhat she is teaching me is all of what she knows. Sooner or later Iâll plateau.âÂ
âYou never know,â (Y/N) chuckled, cheekily, âMaybe one day sheâll go to you for advice.â
When (Y/N) finished the thin crown, she placed it onto Paul's head.
âThere,â she said, âI now dubbed thy, Duke Paul Atreides of Caladan. Who will be an excellent and fair ruler.â
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The only thing that (Y/N) had against Paul, was that her ability to use the voice was much better than his. Paul sounded like a dying horse and (Y/N) could command hundreds of people with her voice. (Y/N) found incredible joy from this. But this fact scared Lady Jessica.Â
Lady Jessica was afraid of the power her daughter held. She knew of her hatred against her brother who took most of the time spent learning. Of course this all wouldnât matter when the Duke died and they lived in the desert with the Fremen. Until Paul had a war forged in his name and (Y/N) had nothing but her brain.Â
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Y/N) was standing in front of the giant pool of water, watching her reflection rippled and ebbed. As she stood there, she imagined a war that was fought in her name instead of Paulâs. Tons of water, from people who died while waiting for the âLisan Al-Giabâ If this was my war, no one would die. She thought. After a couple of minutes a Fremen woman came by and poured the water of another warrior. If my mother and her witches hadnât meddled, we wouldnât have this mess. She stood there for hours, hours past when the sun went down, pondering her existence and her brotherâs willingness to say he was the messiah.Â
âAre you going to keep looking at your reflection or are you coming to bed?â She heard her mother say.Â
âDoes it matter if I stay up late? Iâve nothing to do on Arrakis.â (Y/N) responded, sounding completely uninterested in talking to her mother.Â
âIt does matter, you need sleep in order to thrive.â Lady Jessica declared.Â
âDonât try acting like you care now,â her daughter bit back, coldly, âdonât try acting like a caring mother. Go spread more rumors about Paul.â she sighed out.Â
âThey arenât rumors, (Y/N),â She retorted, âItâs what heâs going to do. You and everyone else here realizes who he is and his potential. You need to help Paul.âÂ
(Y/N) bundled her hands into fists at her sides. Her knuckles popped at how hard she was squeezing them. Your son has changed far beyond what was expected. she thought, you barely recognize him anymore.Â
âWould me dying for your cause be sufficient?â (Y/N) uttered under her breath as she continued to look at her reflection, âShould I stand out there and be a martyr? The loving sister of the Kwisatz HaderachâŠâÂ
Lady Jessica breathed in sharply and said nothing in return. She took her hands and put them over her stomach where her other child was.Â
(Y/N) turned around to look at her mother, âYou agree donât you?â she assumed.
Still, the Lady said nothing and just looked at her daughter. She met her daughter's eyes. The blue within blue encased her small pupils and her skin looking paler and deeper set than when they had left Arrakis.Â
âWhy arenât you speaking?â Her daughter whispered, âTell me what you think!â
âI think you as a martyr would do as much damage as if you were alive,â She voiced, âyour death would be mourned. But, it would not change anything.âÂ
The sudden use of the voice surprised and startled Lady Jessica, âYou imbecile, you using the Voice on your own mother.âÂ
âYou didnât seem to mind when Paul used it on your old reverend mother,â (Y/N) stated, âPaul and I did the same thing, use the Voice on a reverend mother.â
âYou used it on your mother. Paul seized the moment so he could speak.â
âYou were never a mother.â (Y/N) asserted, âyou were a housemate, an incubatorÂ
at best.âÂ
This stunned the reverend mother. She had never heard her daughter speak so unrighteously and sternly. It was almost like she had never really known her. The (Y/N) she knew, the sweet girl who collected wildflowers that had grown on the cliff sides, had died when they landed on Arrakis and was replaced by someone cold and quiet.Â
âIâll help my brother.â (Y/N) expressed as she moved closer to her mother, âIâll do as he says. No matter how much you go against it. It doesnât matter if he asks me to burn temples or castles, or even destroy planets. As long as I donât have to follow you.âÂ
As she concluded her announcement, she turned to hastily walk out of the dark, humid cavern.Â
Leaving Lady Jessica on her own; to see what had become of her daughter who would burn down the world if given the chance and her son who slipped unnecessary blood in the name of war.Â

Scintilla (Prologue)
Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen x Mentat!reader
author's note: This is the first official posting of the series. I do plan on making chapters than what I am posting now.
warnings: house harkonnen, mentions of death and blood
wc: 528
âAre you sure Iâm getting what I want?â
You say to the guard blocking the closed door. Youâre saying not for him but mainly for yourself. How easy his life must be. He just stands there, quietly. You think.Â
âAre they going to write me off and not listen?â
FACT: OPEN POSITIONS ARE ON KAITAIN.                               INFERENCE: 70/30 CHANCE I GET KAITAIN.                             HYPOTHESIS: WILL GIVE ME KAITAIN OR A TEACHING JOB IF WORSE COMES TO WORSE
The great door opened with a bird-like screech,Â
â(Y/N) (L/N) come in.âÂ
The door slammed, punctuating your entrance. You take rushed steps and a nervous inhale. In front you is a monstrous pedestal that holds the council of three professors who told you everything you know, who made you self righteous and sufficient. The people who gave you everything; the people who would give something great back in return.
â(Y/N) (L/N), the orphan, the child of a planet destroyed by interplanetary wars,â says Vere Engle, the one standing in the middle, the old man with a shocking white beard and circle glasses.Â
Gosh heâs ancient.
âMy peers and I have decided to give you a prominent assignment.â He says with a slight chuckle.
âYouâre giving me Kaitain, arenât you?â You coldly state while cutting off Professor Engles giggles, âTo work for the Emperor and become his mentat? He always needs more of us.â
âWell thereâs been a change of plansâŠâ Professor Glacian utters out, the lady who made your life a living hell. Drilling you over and over again when you got complex material wrong. Punishing you and saying that it was because, âyou need to learn how to take this information or else youâll face more extreme consequencesâÂ
âYouâre not going to Kaitain anymoreâŠâ She says.
FACT: THE COUNCIL IS KNOWN FOR NOT DECLARING OTHER OPENINGS FACT: THE BENE TLEILAX NEEDS MORE PROFESSORS HYPOTHESIS: YOU COULD BE STAYING HERE (EXTREMELY UNLIKELY)
You weigh your options, staying here to teach isnât a bad thing, you thinkÂ
âOkay,â you muttered out, trying to hide your disappointment, âif not Kaitain then it must be that you want me to stay here.âÂ
âNo (L/N), youâre leaving this planet.â Professor Engles says.Â
âYouâve been given the honor of working for house Harkonnen on Geidi Primeâ The third professor beams out, âisnât that just splendid?â
You feel the anger well up into your body. I have trained harder and better than every single one of my classmates and this is how they repay me.Â
âWhy am I going there?â Your voice almost breaks as you reply.Â
âThe Harkonnens mentat, Piter De Vries, has gone off the wrong path if you know what we mean. Since we cannot trust that the Baron has the best interests in mind, we are sending another mentat, you.â Engles says trying to calm the situation down.Â
âNo one survives Geidi Prime. Youâre sending me to an early grave.â You say jokingly, even though the people in the room knew the gravity of the assignment.Â
"So, learn to hold your tongue" declared Glacian.
If I die at least no one will see the blood stains on my clothes

Rats Vs. Mice
Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen x Atreides!reader
author's note: Feyd is so fine. That's all.
warnings: death, blood, house harkonnen, knives.
wc: 940
(Y/N) Atreidesâ father, the Duke Leto Atreides, had a saying, âRespect for truth is the basis for all morality. Something cannot emerge from nothing.â This has always been something both him and his daughter lived by. Because there is no honor in a man who isnât truthful. Most of the time she didnât think of this saying often, since she had been surrounded by truthful men. But when she married Na-Baron Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen she realized just how much the Harkonnens lie. She realized the truth did also die with her father.Â
âDoes he always fight this way?â She interrogated her uncle-in-law as they were watching Feyd fight in the black and white light of the Harkonnen homeworldâs sun.Â
âYes of course he does!â He quickly responded, feeling a little offended because of the criticism of his heir from his own wife, âWhat other way is he supposed to?!â Â
âI didn't mean to offend, my Baron,â she replied, realizing it was a bad idea to bad mouth Feyd in front of his uncle, âIâm sorry.â Â
âSilly girl,â the only thing that came out of the baronâs mouth after that was, âThat boy killed his own mother.â (Y/N) continued to watch Feyd fight.Â
The way his arm moved through the air in a teasing motion. Like a cat drawing out the death of a mouse. It was complete cowardice disguised by an overconfident nature from many fights against drugged opponents. Drugged opponents who may just stand a chance against Feyd-Rautha. Of course, she did not think he was a bad fighter, just that he was a big baby.Â
The fight, of course, ended with all of Feydâs opponents on the ground lying still and Feydâs knife rising to the air to show the blood of his kills. Pathetic from a man who wonât even fight a sober man, (Y/N) thought.
As Feyd went back through the tunnel he came out of, (Y/N) turned toward the baron and asked him,
âWould Feyd ever fight against a man who wasnât drugged?âÂ
âWhy do you ask this?â The baron asked suspiciously.Â
âI mean, isn't his birthday coming up? A good present for him would be fighting someone of equal machinery in a sense. You also need to test whether or not he would be good for Arrakis. I know you arenât happy with Rabban.âÂ
The baron just mumbled incoherently.Â
âAnyway, I must leave,â She said as she got up, âI have to see my husband.âÂ
(Y/N) began walking through the tall halls of the fortress. Passing grotesque portraits and seeing the black and white fireworks coming from outside of the castle. The fireworks in celebration of Feydâs victory. Even though it was dark inside the castle the fireworks did light it just enough to where you did not need a glow globe to transverse through the corridors. The air got more frigid as she continued to walk deeper and deeper to her husbandâs room. Like walking into the belly of the beast. She got to her husbandâs bedroom door and saw two guards outside of it.Â
âYou can leaveâ (Y/N) said to the guards.Â
The guards just looked at her and nodded. Afraid of what she would or her husband would do if they didnât listen.Â
(Y/N) opened the huge door to see her husband sitting hunched over on his bed. His feet firmly planted on the ground. His knife, still bloody, in his hands.Â
âI watched you fight today.â She said cooly to him.Â
âI know,â He said equally, âI saw you from the groundâÂ
âWell congratulations-â She tried to get out before being interrupted by Feyd,Â
âWhat were you talking about with my uncle?â He bit out in a mix of anger and annoyance.
âI donât know what youre talking about.â (Y/N) deflected.Â
âDonât play coy!â He shouted and moved to stand menacingly in front of his wife, âI saw you two talking and then looking back at me. What was it!â  Â
âYou would be right, Feyd,â She responded, standing her ground, âWe were talking about you.âÂ
(Y/N) declared, âHow much of a coward you are,â After saying this she could see the anger lighting up in the cold, black eyes of Feyd-Rautha, âHow his youngest nephew only fought people who werenât able to beat him. And how pathetic it is.â She spat at him. Â
âAnd would you know something, he actually agreed with me.â (Y/N) lied through her teeth, hoping that Feyd would not go and ask his uncle about it later,Â
âHe agreed that it would be more entertaining if you actually fought people who stab you as easily as you stab them. Have a form of equal bloodshed.âÂ
Even though his wife was still berating him, Feyd continued to look at his wife, the woman who was not afraid to question him or go against when it came down to speaking, and thought about how pretty she would be with her head on a spike. Red lipstick smeared on her lips and hair all messed up from the blade going across her throat.Â
âAnd do you want to know the worst thing about you Feyd,â (Y/N) continued to push his buttons, âany honor you have earned is false. The only animal one could compare you to is a lazy, house cat; who can only find entertainment in tiny mice, and canât defeat the rats which actually pose a threat.âÂ
âYou lost all your honor the day you killed your mother.â
"What makes you think you know anything about honor? " Feyd retorted, "Your family is dead and mine is thriving."

Hi there!! Iâm so excited to see that you have Dune requests open! đ
Could I make a request for Gurney x fem!reader? I was thinking something angsty with her being either an Atreides or a member of the bene gesserit who is close to Jessica, and sheâs forced into marriage with another. ïżŒ(probably more angst for Gurney if itâs to Feyd or another Harkonnen) angst to fluff or just angst, up to you!
Many thanks If you accept this! đ
Sinking Ship, Abandon Ship
Gurney Halleck x Atreides!reader
author's note: I really hope you enjoy this one, because writing it was incredibly fun and entertaining!
(not beta read, we die like feyd-rautha)
warnings: mentions of death, a lot of angst, duke leto being an awful brother, house harkonnen.
wc: 978
The romance between Gurney Halleck and the Dukeâs sister, (Y/N), developed slowly over time. The two who have been around each for decades, since before politics really mattered.
âYou wanted to see me brother?â Questioned (Y/N) as she walked into Letoâs office on Caladan.Â
âYes I did (Y/N), take a seat.â He said anxiously, like he didnât know what to say or expect.
âIs there something going on? You made this seem quite serious. Youâre even pacing now.â She said, worried about her older brother, âthis isnât going to affect us going to Arrakis, right?â
âThis isnât going to affect us going to Arrakis.â Leto said slowly.
âWell that's a good thing, isnât it? We leave in a few weeks and stay there to collect spice and try to converse with the Fremen.âÂ
The Duke interrupted her, â(Y/N) it affects you going.â
âWell tell me what's going on!â The sister retorted to her brother, annoyed that he wasnât telling her things.Â
âIn order for us to have a certain amount of âsafetyâ on Arrakis, I have decided it is best if you marry the Baronâs eldest nephew. In order for this to happen, you need to leave tomorrow.âÂ
âOh.â she whispered as a pinching feeling settled deep into her chest.Â
âOh!â he said, upset, âThat's all you're going to say!â
âI mean what else is there to say!â She said as the tears began to fall down her face, âIâm leaving my family! my home!â The person I love! She thought afterwards.Â
âI had no choice (Y/N)! It was this or the fact that Harkonnens may try to kill us on Arrakis!â He shouted
âSo youâre going to have me die at the hands of them!â She yelled back at him, âIâm just a sacrifice for you!âÂ
âYouâre not a sacrifice!â
âYouâre right!â she hysterically shouted back, âIâm a lamb to the slaughter! A sacrifice would have more honor!âÂ
â(Y/N) listen to me!â Leto shouted to her. But it was too late, she had turned her back and started walking away.Â
âFuck off, Leto!â
(Y/N) began to walk the expansive halls of Castle Caladan. Walking past the paintings of her ancestors who once ruled the same planet she is leaving. The ancestors who had their own problems when they were alive. But those problems were solved by means of negotiation, not marrying off their younger sister. She continued to aimlessly plod around with tears running down her face. But, any guards who passed her didnât say anything to her. Instead they went straight to Gurney Halleck. Â
After about half an hour of wandering, (Y/N) was leaning against the balcony railing; that gave a spectacular view of the setting sun and its light that reflected off the dazzling ocean waves. The tears in her eyes had subsided and were now replaced with untimed sniffles. She thought about the days that were easier. How she would frolic with her brother when they were younger, along the rolling hills. Her and Gurneyâs late night walks when they couldnât sleep from plagues infecting their dreams. The walks which ended with small, sweet kisses and long hugs goodbye, before they returned to their own quarters.Â
âThe guards told me you were crying.â Gurney deadpanned, âif I am correct you just had a meeting with the Duke, is everything alright?âÂ
He began walking to where (Y/N) was standing near the railing.Â
âEverything is fine, for everyone else,â said with a sad chuckle, âbut for us, itâs a boat that's sinking and we canât repair the hole.âÂ
He placed a hand on her back, âWhy, whatâs going on?â he said, concerned.Â
âThe Duke is sending me off to marry a count.â (Y/N) muttered.
âWhich count?â Gurney said, trying to figure out a way to mend the situation. Thinking that if it was one he knew, he could make a compromise.Â
âCount Glossu Rabban, of House Harkonnen.â
Gurneyâs vision turned red. He could not believe the duke, the man who knew that the Harkonnens do not like the Atreides, would marry off his sister to a husband who would be cruel.Â
âWhy!â He said, before calming down so as to not yell at her, âWhy is he doing this?âÂ
âSomething to do with the safety of everyone else on Arrakis, Iâm a form of collateral.âÂ
âSo he's shipping you off to Harkonnen bastards!â He asserted, âMen who would kill you if you stepped out of line.âÂ
âI didnât have a choice, GurneyâŠâ She disclosed as more tears started to roll down her cheeks.
âWell I have something to say, (Y/N), Iâm not letting them take you away from me.â He said with venom in his voice. Before shifting to a softer tone, âIâm not letting them take anything else from meâŠâÂ
âThereâs nothing you can do, my dear.â (Y/N) commented, finally realizing what was going to happen to her.Â
âThen, when do you leave?â Gurney responded as he turned around.
âTomorrow morning.â
âThen I still have a night with you, we still have a couple of hours.â Gurney proposed, âYouâre not gone yet.â
âNo, Iâm not.â
The final hours Gurney and (Y/N) had very little talking. Moving into her bedroom to cry more and reminisce about what they had. How they had taken their freedom for granted.Â
âYears ago, If you asked me to marry you, then we wouldnât be here right.â (Y/N) whispered as she laid on her bed with her head on Gurneyâs chest.Â
âYears ago, if I knew you wanted to get married, I wouldâve bought a ring.â Gurney added.Â
That would be the last thing they said to each other before (Y/N) had to leave. Both of them too hurt by the Dukeâs actions to say anything else. And a mutual feeling of betrayal by him too.
