Another rewrite of an older fic! Time to put everyone through hell!!!

Title: "Cold Eyes."

Category: Angst.

Warnings: Blood and character death.

Summary: With Aiden having turned, Lawan is faced with having to end him.

Lawan placed back and fourth, her lungs ached as she took a deep breath, she had been resisting the urge to cry this whole time but, her eyes stung and fought against her wishes; gritting her teeth, she squeezed her crossbow and spun to face the man behind her.

Aiden growled at her, cold, blue eyes devoid of humanity as he snarled and bit at the air in front of him, fighting the restraints; she knew this day would come, when he spent a little too long in a dark zone, when he got a little too carried away, she knew it would happen but..not so soon.

"Aiden." Lawan whispered, choking on her words, aiming her crossbow towards his face with trembling hands, her eyes met Aiden's glassy ones and she felt tears begin streaming down her cheeks, "Fuck! Fuck! I can't do this to you- I can't do this to you!" she screamed, throat hoarse.

Looking into those eyes pained her the most, they were icy and cold, the joy and mischief that had once glittered in them had been snuffed out, his pupils were small and focused directly on her, he looked so..dead; he was dead, she had to remind herself that.

Aiden's teeth gnashed together and spit flew onto the floor, sharp canines glistening, Lawan sobbed softly and squeezed the crossbow close, "Aiden- I can't do this to you. I didn't- I didn't think it would come to this." she whispered brokenly.

She wanted to reach out to him, to slap him and drag him in front of a UV lamp until it burnt his skin, she wanted to hold him, part of her screamed that it wasn't too late, that it would fix it; but, those eyes, those cold, empty eyes, that stared with nothing but rage and hunger at her said otherwise.

Aiden lunged at her but he didn't get far due to being tied up so tightly, rope creaking with his effort, his mouth open wide as he bit at the air, with full intent to sink his teeth into her skin; Lawan stumbled backwards just incase, pointing the crossbow with shaking hands at his head.

"I thought you'd be fine. That- you'd snap out of it." she hissed, "That you'd bounce back, again- and again! And- you'd wake up! And apologise, and hug me.", her tears dripped onto the floor and she squeezed the crossbow tightly; her heart ached with each word.

Lawan bit her inner cheek and sobbed loudly, ugly sobs that she hoped Aiden would never have to see, well...not like he could care now; "I thought- you'd be fixed! But, I was wrong. I was wrong again. Stupid, stupid, stupid Lawan!" she screamed, "You'd be- you'd be telling me not to call myself that, wouldn't you? You would." her voice was strained and she stared at Aiden with blurry eyes.

Aiden snarled and glared daggers in her direction with those glassy eyes, drool dripping down his chin, "You know- I love you, yeah? You- know I do- you-" Lawan choked on her words and stepped forward ever so slightly.

"We'll see eachother again. Right? I don- I don't believe in that shit. But- I'll- I will see you again! Promise me? We'll see eachother again?" Lawan sobbed, her sobs turning into bitter laughter as she remembered she was talking to a fucking corpse but, that corpse looked like Aiden.

She kept the crossbow pointed at his head and narrowed her eyes, "I'll make it quick, okay? I won't hurt you. I won't hurt you, Aiden." Lawan grit her teeth and spoke through sobs; firing a bolt straight at his head, Aiden's snarls and lunges ceased as soon as the bolt made contact with his head, and Lawan finally let the crossbow clatter to the floor.
