Welcome!
Tumblr media
Thank you for visiting, I’m glad to have you here! My ability to create stories was born from my love of reading. When I was a young pre-teen with nothing to do, I’d ride my bike to the local library and check out colossal stacks of books. The librarians would exclaim, “Why, you can’t possibly finish all of those!” They couldn’t have been more wrong. I had a goal that summer to read every single R.L. Stine (Fear Street Series) and Christopher Pike book I could get my hands on. After many trips to indulge in more reading material, they suggested I check out the Book It! Summer Reading Challenge. For every 10 or 20 books read, you could earn a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut. That summer I earned so many pizza coupons, that I couldn’t eat another slice for months!
As I grew, my taste for reading did too. I moved on from pre-teen fiction to more mature selections, usually titles from Oprah’s Book Club. Two of my all-time favorite books include: She’s Come Undone by Wally Lamb, and Voyager by Diana Gabaldon.
In the 8th grade, I wrote my first short story. It was a poignant tale of a couple who lived in a house with a weed that grew in between them until it took over their lives. It was a story with psychological roots way beyond my years, but it garnered some attention from my English teacher. She asked me to read it in front of the class and told me that I had talent.
Since that time I’ve written about a dozen stories, but I’ve never had the courage to share them with anyone until now. I’ve been on a personal journey of discovery that has re-awakened my love of telling stories. You see, I believe that everyone is born with a natural talent or gifts inside of themselves, and mine happens to be writing stories. I am a word slayer, a proprietor of words.
Join me on a journey of sharing my gifts with the world.
