Moving our blog
So, after some consideration I've decided to move our blog. The biggest reason is that that damn photo is ALL OVER THE PLACE and there's no way to make it go away. I've got it so that I no longer get notifications about it, but now thousands of people have our url just chilling on their dash and I'm not cool with that. There have been a few things recently that I've wanted to share/vent about/etc that I decided not to publish for that reason. So....
I'm going to create a new blog then inbox the new url to the peeps I regularly interact with. This blog is going to stay intact for 2 reasons A) F/UnschoolFamilyForum is attached to it and B) I want to keep the picture stating my cousin has been found up and visible so that if any of the thousands of people who are reblogging it think to check to see if there are updates, they can plainly see that the pic is outdated.

And just because they did that doesn't make it "right" either. Even loving, devoted parents can be uninformed and make poor choices. The good news is, you survived, possibly even unscathed despite your parents following outdated, potentially harmful advice. The even better news is that now we know the danger and can change our parenting accordingly.
Generally speaking, I don't think people who are against cio are inherently against parents who have implemented it. I'm not against my grandma, but you'd better believe her kids didn't sit in car seats and had cribs painted with lead-based paint, both of which I now know to be dangerous- and even illegal! We learn new things everyday and as result we have the opportunity to grow everyday. A dangerous practice done out of ignorance, while still dangerous, is forgivable and certainly doesn't equate bad parenting in generally.
So because my parents let me cry it out when I was a baby that means they're neglectful and abusive? No I have amazing parents who love me very much. Just because you don't agree with someone's parenting style, does not make it "wrong"
My blog my opinion :) I think it is neglectful and wrong. I would never ignore my baby’s needs

With my oldest, 1/2 way thru every feed I'd say that this would be the last one- I was opening the formula the next time she got hungry. But by the time the next feed came I felt too guilty to give her less than what I knew was best. I had set myself a goal (6 months) and I wanted to reach it. There were so many things I couldn't give her and had to rely on other people for- but this was the ONE thing ONLY I could do for her. And I didn't want to give up so quickly.
When she was about 3 weeks old, I read a book called So That's What They're There For. It had funny stories different women shared, encouragement and TONS of info/advise. I finally figured out why it was hurting so much and how to fix it (for us it was bad placement on my part- I wasn't putting her head into position. I'd just hold her and aim my boob at her mouth. Lol. But when I read a little part by a nurse saying "They can't hold their head up on their own, so of course they can't get it into position on their own," I was like DUH! I have to put her there.) I ended up meeting my 6 month goal, then my 1 year goal, and going all the way up until 22 months! Looking back I'm so proud of myself for "just one last feed."
Breastfeeding is HARD. It's exhausting, it hurts, and it can be so frustrating. But it DOES get better. And every feed you do make it through is such a benefit to your little one. You're doing great, Mama.
Crying
Breast feeding is killing me. I feel like he eats constantly and through the night it’s like he has the worst latch and it kills me.

There are approximately 5bazillion (4) phone calls I've put off as absolutely long as possible and need to just suck it up and make.
Why? Why are phone calls a part of adulthood? So much anxious. RAWR!

quixoticandbarefoot said: Unfortunately deleting your blog won’t delete the post. :-/ But if it’s the notifications you’re looking to get away from, it’s a good idea. Please tell me your new name if you end up making a new blog. I definitely want to keep following you.
Tumblr finally emailed me back, so hopefully they will have a solution for this. If I do end up moving accounts, I'll definitely keep you informed!

I've been tagged.
By my dearest Emmett. So....I shall answer the questioned bestowed upon me, then I will make a new list and tag some of you. Or something like that. We'll see. I'm not good at following the rules.
And so....
1) What is your favorite sensation? Well, other than the (probably) most obvious....removing my pants, removing a ponytail after a long day, sunshine on my skin, and the sweet touch of your baby reaching up to touch your cheek with their soft little hand (usually while they nurse).
2) If you could change one thing about your physical self, what would it be? I would gain about 15lbs.
3) What is one skill you’ve always wished you had, but never had the time/diligence/ability to learn? The ability to play piano. My hands trying to play two different lines are just LOL NOPE. It's frustrating.
4) What is your favorite food to eat when you’re sick? I like to eat uncooked ramen noodles.
5) If you could visit anywhere in the world completely for free for one week, where would you go? Oh gosh. This is tricky. So many foreign adventures are jumping through my head like The Galapagos, New Zealand, ITALY, Bolivia....but then I think of all the people I could see if I went home for a week....Hmmm. I think I'm going to go with The Galapagos but I might change my mind before I finish this thing. LOL.
6) Do you collect any weird things? If so, what? If not, do you wish you collected anything? I had a collection once of items that reminded me of people who had impacted me at one point or another. Unfortunately, when a person leaves an abusive relationship in a hurry, they don't generally have the luxury of resources like time to pack all their things, or the money to move/store any of it. So I no longer have that collection. On a less depressing note, I have a small gaggle of gnomes who make me very, very happy and creep out my family for the most part.
7) If you could enter the world of any television show/ book series/ movie etc., what world would you choose to enter? Damn you, Emmett, and your difficult questions! I think I'm going to have to go with the world of Harry Potter. The Whovian and Jedi in me are not pleased with this decision. But while those world (upon worlds, upon worlds) are entertaining and thrilling the world of Harry Potter is so much richer.
8)  If you could make everyone in the world read one book, what book would you have them read? I really want to say the Bible because if more people realized how fucked up it is they might stop fighting over who's right and who's wrong and just agree that that shit is crazy and we should just be nice to each other. But the way things work out in my head is not generally accurate in any realistic way at all.
9) What is your favorite material object you own? My guitar.
10) What is one modern comfort you feel you couldn’t live without, and why? This is a toss-up between toilet paper and recorded music. Because sore butts are no fun and neither is washing poo cloths, and I'm honestly not sure how I would function without being able to listen to music.
11) Will you recommend your favorite tumblog/YouTuber/musician you feel doesn’t get enough attention and publicity? The Bloggess. Knock knock, motherfucker.
Yeah, I'm sticking with the Galapagos. I'd love for the opportunity to remove myself from people and just appreciate the beauty and delicacy and wonder of Creation for a week.
OK.....now to come up with some questions......
1). If you were given $10,000 which you could only donate, what organizations would you donate to, how much (if not the entire amount) and why?
2). If you were told that you could have 2 homes wherever you wanted but you could ONLY switch from one to the other exactly every 6 months (say, April 1st and Oct 1st) where would you live and why?
3). What is your most random, useless talent?
4). If you could ban an entire genre of music, what would it be?
5). Aside from the obvious (ie. words in which their sole purpose is to cause damage), what are your least favorite words?
6). Pinpoint what one emotion your life is most influenced by.
Ok, that's all I've got. If you want to answer any of Emmett's questions for me, go for it. Those's mofo's are crazy tough and I'd love to see someone else get stumped. LOL.
And my tags are.....Jessica, Brittney, Kellie, Emmett (Can I do that? Too bad, just did :-P), and Jessica.
Yay!

So, there may be a chance I have to delete our blog and start a new one. I cannot put out the fire that is my formerly missing cousin's pic. I've deleted it, I've messaged literally hundreds of people asking them to remove it so it is seen/reblogged by less people, I've emailed tumblr directly asking if there's anything we can do (never got a response)...... It still gets roughly 500-1000 reblogs a day.
My poor family just wants to recover and put this behind them. Idk what to do.

She is safe and well, thank you! We can't give out too much details to the public, as it is still an open case. But yes, she is home!!!!

What's that I'm doing, you ask?
Why, I'm just using up all of my asks and submits allowed in one hour in an attempt to stop the spread of this picture of my cousin because SHE IS FOUND.
And because I can't reach into my computer and hug each one of you for your love and help and hope. Seriously. Thank you. Thank you thank you thank you.
