Child’s Pose

Place a bolster or a pillow  vertically on your mat. Position your     legs at the end��of the bolster. Your legs are on the mat, not the     bolster. 
Fold forward slowly, covering your torso over the     bolster. 
Your arms in front of you, resting gently on the floor.
Then rest your belly and chest on the bolster, and change     the direction of your head so that you don't get a stiff neck. 
Bridge Pose    
Bridge pose or Setu Bandhasana stretches and strengthens the back an dhamstrings. This asana is good for reducing stress and mild depression. It improves circulation of blood and digestion. But there are people who should not perform the pose is people who have recently undergone brain, back, neck, spinal and shoulder surgery. This asana is also beneficial for strengthening core muscles, thereby reducing belly fat.
1.     Lie on the mat with your back and your hands on the floor, palms down and feet kept together
2.     Lift your hips off the ground
3.     Tuck your chin.
4.   Keep your thighs parallel and push your buttocks and back of your thighs even higher by pressing down strongly through your heels.
5.      Exhale, let go of your hands, and lower yourself to the ground to complete
Corpse Pose
 The corpse pose or Savasana is the most relaxing pose of all. It is the final resting pose where you are having total relaxation after stretching and opening. It releases any tension that might have been present in your body and stress that builds during a workout. Corpse Pose is relaxing, it lowers blood pressure and reduces headaches and fatigue.
1.     Place a bolster under your knees and a blanket under your head.
2.     Lie on your back, and place your arms on the floor.
3.     Stretch your legs and slightly spread apart from each other.
4.     Eyes closed and you should let go of any distractions or disturbances of the body
5.     Allow your body to sink into the floor.
6.     Savasana can be held between 5 to 10 minutes.

What is Hatha Yoga?
Hatha in Sanskrit means stubborn and Hatha Yoga means the stubborn practice of yoga. Maharishi Patanjali in his book Yoga Sutra, described Raja Yoga which is also known as Ashtanga Yoga or Eight limbs of Yoga . ‘Asht’ which means eight in Sanskrit and ‘Anga’ which means limbs or parts in Sanskrit forms the meaning of eight limbs of Raja Yoga or teachings of Patanjali consists of eight parts. Asana
Asana simply means pose or position and it is a common term we usually hear in a yoga class. Asana is the physical practice of yoga and it means ‘a steady and comfortable state of body and mind’. There are 84 classic asanas in yoga and even more variations of it. The main functions of asanas are toning muscles and developing flexibility, balance and strength etc. Asanas were claimed to provide both physical, mental and spiritual benefits.
Pranayama
All diseases can be removed by proper practice of pranayama and all sort of diseases can arise from improper practice" - Hatha Yoga Pradipika (2:16)
The above lines describe the importance of pranayama. Pranayama or in layman’s language, breathing exercise. In Sanskrit, prana means "vital life force", and Yama means to gain control. Pranayama is the practice of expanding the capacity of the body to retain prana. By practicing various breathing techniques, one can control prana.  Pranayama evokes our inner energy and the regular and sustained practice of Pranayama helps to lead a healthy life.
Pratyahara
The  Sanskrit term Pratyahara is a combination of two words, prati, which means ‘to withdraw,’ and ‘ahara,’ which means ‘food’. Here food refers to any external stimuli that you consume with your mind. So the meaning of Pratyahara is "withdrawal of the senses. Pratyahara is the practice of restricting senses from objects. When the senses are in control or don’t receive any inputs, you begin to focus and achieve concentration.  Pratyahara practice starts with pranayama, when you control and retain prana. Pranayama helps the mind focus inward so that desires can be managed. It is through the practice of asana and pranayama that pratyahara is achieved.
Dharana
Dharana in the Sanskrit language means ‘concentration.’ Dharana is the practice to bring the mind to one single point of focus. The main goal of Dharana is also to lock consciousness to a single object. It can be an internal thought or an external thing.  Breath awareness, mindfulness, tratak, are some methods to train one’s mind in Dharana. You can practice Dharana during your yoga practice by sitting in a calm place without any distractions. In order to concentrate focus on your breath or a mantra. Dharana improves yoga practice by enhancing the practitioner's ability to remain calm and focused.  
Dhyana
Dhyana the word in Sanskrit means meditation is the state of connection with the ‘Self.’ Dhyana requires complete surrender to one's own self-awareness or soul. Dhyana is a deep meditative state and builds upon the dedicated practices of asana, pranayama, pratyahara and Dharana.
Samadhi
Samadhi is enlightenment. It is the deeper state of meditation where you are in the super conscious state and connect with your soul and disconnect with Maya. Samadhi is the highest state of consciousness achieved through the practice of dharana and dhyana.
Raja Yoga consists of eight limbs in which Yam and Niyam also include: Yamas Yamasa are qualities such as social restraints such as : Ahimsa: non-violence, Satya: truthfulness, Asteya: non-stealing, Brahmacharya: non-indulgence, Aparigraha: non-collection Niyam Niyamas are habits , rules, and guidelines such as :Shauch: purification, Santosh: contentment, Tapas: austerity, Swadhyaya: self-study, Ishwar pranidhana: connection with god

   What are the Yoga Poses for Beginners  
The Cobra- Bhujangasana
Bhujangasana is a backward bending pose. It promotes the flexibility and strength of the lower back in particular. The gentle pressure that the pose brings to the abdominal region also has a beneficial massaging effect on the internal organs.
Lie down on your abdomen, with your legs and feet together, forehead on the floor. Keep your hands beside your ribs.  Position your palms on the floor, next to your chest. Elbows are tucked in toward your body and pointing upward.
Breathe in, push your navel into the floor and slowly press down your hands and raise your head and chest off the floor. Roll your shoulders back.  Keep the back of your neck long and straighten your arms and keep a slight bend in your elbows. Take easy, relaxed breaths as you hold the pose 30 – 60 seconds. Exhale and slowly release the pose. Regular practice balances the functions of your stomach, gallbladder, liver, spleen, and pancreas. It also regulates blood sugar levels, tones the lower back muscles and inner thighs and tones your ovaries and uterus and can reduce menstruation problems.
Triangle Pose – Trilokasana
Trikonasana is a standing asana that engages your core muscles. This asana gives very good lateral movements to the spine.
Stand straight, with your feet shoulder-width apart. Make sure that your feet are pressing the ground and the weight of your body is equally distributed on both of your feet.
Now take a deep breath, as you inhale bring your arms up next to your ears and reach upward, extending and lengthening your spine.
Place your palms together, making sure that your hands stay in a straight line above your forehead.
As you exhale, press your right heel into the floor and reach up and out to your left side.
Extend your entire torso to the left, starting at the base of your spine and maintaining elongation on both sides of your torso.
The benefits of this pose are, it balances the functions of your urinary tract, kidneys and liver, realigns your spine, relieves and corrects scoliosis, increases the blood flow, tones and strengthens your abdominals and back muscles and also improves poise and concentration.
Tree Pose or Vrikshasana
Vrikshasana is a popular yoga pose. This is a balancing asana and a standing pose. The pose which improves balance, and strengthens your core resembles a tree, that’s why they named it after the pose like this.
To practice the pose,
Stand straight, with your feet together. Your weight is equally distributed so that you can have balance.  Raise your hands above your head and place your palms together, ( Anjali Mudra) keeping them in line with your forehead. Here, your head, shoulders, pelvis, and left foot should align vertically. Inhale, and raise your right foot and place it against your left, inner thigh while you place your left foot grounded on the floor. Keep your focus on a point slightly above eye level (approximately two meters away) and breathe evenly. You can hold the pose for three to eight breaths with regular practice, you can go up to one although you breathe properly. When you’re ready to switch legs, exhale, and repeat the process.  
The benefits include strengthening of your spine, knees, legs and buttocks, improving balance and concentration, it also builds the tendons and the ligaments of your feet, loosens the hip joints, groins and inner thighs, It has a grounding and calming effect as it improves physical and mental balance.
Nadi Shodhana Pranayama
Pranayama is an ancient breath technique in yoga. The Sanskrit word Nadi literally means channel or flow of energy and Shodhana means purification, therefore Nadi Shodhana is the purification of pranic channels. Nadi Shodhana is the practice of purification of nadis. Nadi Shodhana Pranayama is practiced by controlling the inhalation, exhalation, retention, and the direction of the breath. So our breath is inhaled, retained, and exhaled in a particular ratio here.
 Sit in a comfortable position shoulders and hips loose, spine and neck straight, head erect and eyes closed
  Keep the left hand on your left knee. Open your palms upward or in Chin Mudra (tip of the index finger and thump touches whereas the rest of the fingers are extended)
Bring your right hand in Vishnu Mudra (bending the index finger and the middle finger) Use the right thumb to close the right nostril and the right ring finger and pinky fingers (together) to close the left nostril.
Exhale completely
Close the right nostril with right thumb and inhale through left nostril
Now using the ring and pinky fingers  close the left nostril and release the right     nostril
Keep the left nostril closed, inhale through the right nostril
Now close the right nostril with a right thumb and simultaneously release the left nostril and  exhale through the left nostril
One round is completed. Now breath like this with alternate nostrils
At least perform five to nine full cycles of this breath between the nostrils. Make sure you always inhale through the same nostril you exhaled through.

If you create difficult transitions and come with a lot of stress, it may result in injuries. Also, know that some students cannot practice some techniques due to certain factors. Learn how to make every student change techniques without causing injury or discomfort.  
Respect Boundaries: Harassment is a common case in yoga classes, especially for those who do not appreciate sensitive touching. It would help if you recognized individual differences, build mutual respect, and respect boundaries. Where touch is necessary, you can politely if it's okay or instructs the student to do it by themself.

Understanding The Four Bandhas In Yoga
Bandhas are a popular term in yoga classes. You must have heard them during practice. They are often used to interpret the internal energy locks in yoga. However, not many understand what bandhas really are. This article will discuss bandhas, their purpose, and how to activate them during yoga practice.  
In Sanskrit, bandhas, which is the plural form, means "locks." Three of these locks are created through contraction by three of the six sphincters in the digestive system. The locks or bandhas are listed as follows:
Anal Sphincter: This sphincter is contracted to create Mula Bandha.
Sphincter Of Oddi: contracted to create Uddiyana Bandha.
Upper Esophageal Sphincter: contracted to create Jalandhara bandha
The fourth bandha, Maha Bandha, can only be created when all three locks have been formed. In essence, the application of the first three bandhas will build the fourth bandha. In applying the bandhas, you must exercise some level of physical and mental control.

Applying the bandhas in yoga has both physical and astral benefits. These two categories of bandhas benefits will ultimately result in the physical and mental wellbeing that you enjoy through yoga. When it comes to the physical benefit, bandhas will help you activate the muscles. They can also stimulate the organs and the glands. One way to look at this is the activation of the muscles in the pelvic floor whenever Mula bandha is activated. Additionally, the reproductive organs are stimulated. The Mula bandha tones these muscles and increases their level of functioning and performance.  
The astral benefit of bandhas has to with the stimulation the chakras experience when the energies around them are locked. For instance, the bandha increases flow around the chakras as the prana moves. The stimulation of the chakras is what helps in the buildup of mental and physical wellbeing.  
However, understanding how bandhas bring out these physical and astral effects, understanding what constitutes the pranas is crucial. You should note that prana means “vital energy” or “life force.” These pranas are what we need to perform our life activities like breathing, speaking, and moving efficiently. Therefore, to do these activities, we need different energies, which we call pranas. Here are the major pranas that give energies for the major life activities.
Apana: The energy that aids excretion like urinating and sweating.
Samana: The force that functions for digestion and metabolism.
Prana: The force whose function is for the heart to work.
Vyana: The energy that aids movement and circulation.
Udana: The energy required for body actions like eye movement and talking.  
The proper application of these energies in the body will help you build a functioning body system while also aiding the body's healing and regeneration.

About Strength  
You will easily observe physical strength in yoga practitioners. Yoga is not all about the mind and mental awareness. But how does yoga help build strength? First, it must be noted that there are various types of strengths, according to use and purpose. In the same way, there are different elements of strengths, like endurance and stamina. For instance, gymnasts practice a series of athletic moves for a long duration, while weightlifters only require a single attempt to display their physical strength.  
There is what we call muscle contraction. A muscle fiber usually contracts completely. Muscle fibers do not vary in contraction intensity compared to the load against which they act. However, the force of a muscle contraction can still determine the varying strengths between the strong and the weak. During the period of contraction, more muscle fibers are formed to perform the job. Thus as the central nervous system produces more muscle fibers, the muscular contraction generates more force. This is why different people perform varying exercises. Some people require exercises that supply many muscle fibers to build strength over a short period. Others only need few muscle fibers to make the contraction offer longer strength.
On Flexibility
Flexibility is when you practice a free range of motion without pain and discomfort. The joints are built up by soft tissues of muscles, tendons, ligaments, joint capsules, and skin. But since musculoskeletal structures are different, so flexibility varies in individuals. You should note that the elasticity and mobility of the soft tissues are the elements that affect the range of motion. Therefore, lack of stretching can result in a shortening of soft tissues.  
The primary aim of the muscles is to ensure movement. The movement is only made possible by muscle fibers, as we can see in creating strength. A muscle fiber consists of actin and myosin as proteins that attract and contract toward each other whenever the body releases calcium. The coming together of these proteins is the basis of muscular contractions that the body experience.

Now you can see the impact of yoga exercise in the body system, particularly in the formation of contractions that provide physical strength and flexibility. One of the popular yoga exercises that offer these two qualities is hatha yoga, where the body is warmed-up with back-bends. This chakra is in your lower abdomen near the root chakra. The chakra relates to creativity, personal expansion, sexuality, and sexual desires. Understanding how the svadhishthana chakra functions will help you realize a lot of things about yourself. For instance, your sexual orientation, personal transformation, and some physical components of your body are all related to this second chakra.

Balancing The Chakra
Meditation
This is one of the best methods to balance the sacral chakra. Chakra meditation practices help you remove the negative thought patterns and declutter your mind.

Since the chakra possesses the element of water, it will be an effective way to open and balance the chakra by connecting with the water and the flow. You can sit near a river or a lake to help you balance and regulate your emotions. You can also drink water and shower. It all works the svadhishthana chakra.
