So here is the story for this picture lol 😂 First night at camping when we all went to bed and slowly started to realize that I was not prepared properly for sleeping in a tent… I largely underestimated how cold it can get at night in a tent lol 😂. So here I am laying in a air mattress on top and single sized sleeping bag next to my 3 year old girl that is also underdressed, and with only a thin blanket on top of us both. My daughter is sleeping but I know she must be cold so I cuddle close to her to make sure she is warm. I forgot my sleeping pills back at home so I already know I won’t be able to sleep…. So I am laying there ice cold and shivering wide awake keeping my daughter warm with what body heat I have, until around 3:00am before I really can’t take it anymore. At this point I have taken the sleeping bag under me and wrapped up my daughter to keep her warm while I figure out how to warm myself…. My first thought was to go sleep in the car but realized that wouldn’t make a difference, my second thought was to go have a hot shower but realized I had no change for the shower, my third thought was to go cuddle close on the other mattress where my husband “the heater” was but realized the air mattress would not be able to hold both of our weight and didn’t want to risk his lack of sleep do to no mattress to sleep on…. So finally I got out of the tent to cold to care about how long it would take to make a fire and got to work on making a fire to warm up. Finally got a good fire going at 4am completely exhausted and frozen and sore all over my back and neck due to that air mattress and laying in one position for hours just to keep my daughter warm… I figured why not capture this picture since it’s a part of my camping experience 😂🤣😂🤣 It took me two hours right beside the fire to warm myself up enough not to shiver anymore and to get feeling back to my outer layer in skin… at around 6 or 7 my husband and girls wake up and I went straight to the tent with my husbands big jacket and gathered up all the blankets and went to sleep for a few hours lol 😂 worst night ever but all other camping experiences were perfect. https://www.instagram.com/p/CRISsH3DJhM/?utm_medium=tumblr
