Kurogane closed his eyes at the soothing way Fai's voice surrounded him, but then he opened them again and let out another wheezy sigh. "I'm sorry." This wasn't what he wanted. He never wanted to leave Fai behind, but they both knew it was inevitable, and they both had been tiptoeing around the subject for years. It wasn't until Kurogane's body started to fail him that they really had to address it.

And it became even more prevalent when Kurogane no longer had the strength for an artificial arm. Even a simple one. It was much more comfortable without it. And so it was his only hand that Fai was burying his face in, and his wrinkled, bony hands twitched against that soft, smooth cheek. "Forgive me..."

Fai swallowed around the sour lump that was forming in the back of his throat. "Kurosama." Fai playfully allowed those bright clear eyes to poke through his ashen fingers. "Remember what I said." He shifted himself so he could crook his other arm down and allow his fingers to play with Kurogane's salted hair.

"Don't ask for forgiveness when you've given me a lifetime." Fai's jaw tensed when he met his lover's ruby eyes. They were barely dulled by age and gods they were still so strong! They sparkled with so much of the life he'd lived, and Fai wanted to make sure Kurogane knew there was not a damn thing he should regret.

"You showed me how to live. Please, don't ask me to forgive that."

Fic help!

What: A post-series fic where the gang end up in a new world where a festival is being held. The festival is bombed by a kurogane look-a-like and said look-a-like takes a huge interest in fai because he looks like his dead wife!

When: It was pre-2020 and post 2016 if I remember correctly. Not sure.

Where: Either A03 or dreamwidth! I can’t seem to remember

Genre(s): Drama and hurt/comfort possibly? 

Setting: It was set in a tribal village in what seemed to be either a jungle or forested area.

Point of View: Mostly Fai’s POV

Tropes/Kinks: It was SFW and unrequited love on the other kurogane’s part. 

Status: Complete

Other characters/pairings: Syaoran, mokona, and the fake kurogane. There was also that world’s version of Toya and Yukito.

Anything else: It got pretty violent towards the end and I think fai saved syaoran or kurogane’s life while receiving a pretty serious injury to the chest?

Hello! Searching hard for this fic that I think was on A03 but I can't quite find. It was long and complete.

It's an au with like, prince/assassin Kurogane and Prince/Priestess (I think) Fai. I think they're rival kingdoms but I could be wrong. Either way Kurogane is captured trying to kill Fai and they slowly fall in love and it's revealed that they're like, representative of a dragon and Phoenix gods that were lovers. At one point Kurogane is training for years in his powers but when he comes back no time has passed for Fai.

Would super appreciate any help finding this!

What: It started with Fai Kurogane as a married couple but Fai is dead. The rings they had were magic rings which the owner could feel the another’s pulse through the ring. Kurogane wore his and the ring was still after Fai died. Then one day he sensed something from the ring. Thinking someone dug the corpse up and stole the ring he rushed to the tombstone. But he found Yuui and Fai who was now resurrected because his twin was a vampire. Then they asked Kurogane to become one. The fic ended with something like Kurogane normally don’t give up on living, but willing to do so for Fai.

I’m looking for a fic on Ao3 that I forgot to bookmark. It takes place after the series in Sakura’s world while they recover. Fai discovers he’s still a vampire and while him and Kurogane learn to deal with it, Kamui and Subaru appear so Fai goes to them for advice on how to control his instincts. Kurogane and Touya have a horse race while Fai and Yukito watch them and Fai said he’ll give Kurogane a kiss if he wins. Thank you in advance for the help!

There was self-harm and Fai may or may not have been taken to a hospital. This was a lengthy, multi-chaptered work.
