really wish we got the tomgreg prison season , where everything at waystar is like going along just fine , people barely notice they’re gone, but every once in awhile it cuts to them in their cell and it goes between scenes of them trying to read the law textbooks in the library (greg with a legal dictionary and tom holding back tears as he reads the same sentence for the eighth time) and talking eachother down from panic attacks when the other inmates say something mundane that they mistake for a murder threat , i want them both to ask for gang tattoos to fit in but not specify that to the artist so they just get regular matching tattoos and spend a whole arc trying to find the gang they’ve supposedly “joined”,  i want Tom to cry writing a letter home to Shiv and when it arrives she skims it and goes “aw… :) …….. anyway” and doesn’t write back for a few weeks

Every time I have to see yet another advertisement for Men’s Hairy Genital problems, I remember the time Tumblr flagged this post as violating Community Guidelines. Knitting gaugeless = indecent. Ball shaving = A-OK.

I was excited to make these socks, and jumped right in. WAAAAAAAAAAY too big (”Cause gauges are for squares” I mumble to myself as I cast on and throw myself into yet another new project.) so I’m going to start over when I get home tonight. Let this be a lesson to all who mock the gauge square.

History of how the family became royal

Kind of succession (hereditary reign, elective reign, …)

Line of succession

Members of the inner royal family

Official positions and titles of the members

Duties of the members

Rules the members have to follow

Distant family with unlikely claim to the throne

Their titles and duties

Specific ceremonial clothing and jewels

Specific national traditions that involve the royal family (celebration days?)

Living arrangements (same palace, somewhere else)

Palace staff and confidants

Members that married into the family (commoners or other royals)

Their roles and duties

Rules regarding marriage

Relations to other monarchies

Relations to other countries (still being the monarch of an independent country because of colonialism)

Finances (paid by the state, being property owners or work outside of royal duties)

Reputation of the monarchy amongst their subjects (how secure is the reign?)

Reputation of the monarchy amongst other countries

Research

research a real monarchy that fits your fictional one best

look at different forms of monarchies (there are a lot more than the most researched European ones)

look at historic monarchies and find out why they ended if you need drama for your story
