Skip Google for Research
As Google has worked to overtake the internet, its search algorithm has not just gotten worse.  It has been designed to prioritize advertisers and popular pages often times excluding pages and content that better matches your search terms
As a writer in need of information for my stories, I find this unacceptable.  As a proponent of availability of information so the populace can actually educate itself, it is unforgivable.
Below is a concise list of useful research sites compiled by Edward Clark over on Facebook. I was familiar with some, but not all of these.
Google is so powerful that it “hides” other search systems from us. We just don’t know the existence of most of them. Meanwhile, there are still a huge number of excellent searchers in the world who specialize in books, science, other smart information. Keep a list of sites you never heard of.
www.refseek.com - Academic Resource Search. More than a billion sources: encyclopedia, monographies, magazines.
www.worldcat.org - a search for the contents of 20 thousand worldwide libraries. Find out where lies the nearest rare book you need.
https://link.springer.com - access to more than 10 million scientific documents: books, articles, research protocols.
www.bioline.org.br is a library of scientific bioscience journals published in developing countries.
http://repec.org - volunteers from 102 countries have collected almost 4 million publications on economics and related science.
www.science.gov is an American state search engine on 2200+ scientific sites. More than 200 million articles are indexed.
www.pdfdrive.com is the largest website for free download of books in PDF format. Claiming over 225 million names.
www.base-search.net is one of the most powerful researches on academic studies texts. More than 100 million scientific documents, 70% of them are free

Ahhh the romance of two researchers furthering each others mutual dissent into obsession. They feed off the other, whenever one feels like this has gone too far the other fuels them to go further. It's a death spiral and they both are holding on too tight to let the other break free

My toxic trait is disappearing for a little while and then coming back like hiii this is blorbo from my 1818(or 1831 if you prefer that version, I haven't read it yet but I listened to an hour long lecture on the differences between it And the og version also the stuff Percy Shelley added etc) novel he literally has no canon name lmao,,,
Tumblr media
I'll probably change Victor's design later because this is more like the version that got ingrained in my brain after looking at a lot of fanart(why does everyone draw him with the gray/white/light blue hair streak??? Is it because of Varian ? It reminds me of Varian and I haven't even seen tangled the series) and I haven't done any actual design here I just needed to scribble something quick because I'm obsessed. I'll also edit Creature's design and draw more detailed mold/small references to rot but considering the simplistic unfinished style these are in I'm more or less glad with how I pulled it of :)

There are a few myths I'd like to dispel about mad scientist husbandry. If you want to keep a mad scientist as a pet, trust the experts (such as me) and listen: it's not easy. Here are the guidelines:
Don't get too close to your pet. You never know what he'll try to eat next.
Don't give him any treats or food. He might be hungry for more than just dinner.
Never let him out of his cage when he gets excited. This could lead to something terrible happening. Such as murder, etc.
Do not allow anyone else to see your mad scientist pet unless they have an extreme phobia of spiders, snakes, and/or large rodents. Also, make sure that person has been checked for any medical conditions that would prevent them from properly caring for a creature such as yourself. I mean, it.
Try to keep him away from water at all times, especially if there is a chance he may be able to breathe underwater.
Make sure your pet is always wearing a muzzle. Just in case.
Don't forget to feed him twice daily. Unless he can fly, he will need to eat.
Keep his cage clean, but don't let him lick the walls. It's better if he doesn't touch anything.
Always wear gloves when handling your pet. You never know what he might try to bite off.
Do not let your pet play with matches. Even if you think he won't hurt himself, he still might. And then there's the fire.
Do not ever let your pet sleep on top of your bed. EVER.
Keep a very close eye on your pet at all times. Because sometimes he tries to escape by jumping out of his cage.
Your pet might be a murderer. Keep that in mind.
