I think it's logical to have at the very least one big port town, and they have to have marines. Having a coast is a big strategic asset for a kingdom, both militarily and commercially, so it can't be left alone. There probably are a lot of fishermen villages as well.

It's canon that South Jade has a tropical weather, so I believe some beaches may be very very nice.

That map is a good reminder that Jade has a coast. It's not talked about in game, but it must be beautiful and I'm sure Keith and Maeve love it.

Yes, if could write Maeve and Keith's story I would probably develop it a little more, but all I have so far is more subjective, sorry.

But I know no big kingdom would be homogeneous, and the neighbor kingdoms sure have their influences, at least next to the frontiers. This is why I believe North Jade resembles more Rhodolite and Benitoite (maybe even with something of Obsidian?), while South would share some similarities with Tanzanite, even with what appears to be mountains separating the two kingdoms. There's still a way in, right? And if they already shared some aspects in their beliefs, even if they use different names to call it or different methods to achieve it, it only deepens their exchange.

Oh, and the map also has a part on it, since they show the South as an area with a lot more forests than the North.

Anyways, in the AU I was writing there was something about the South having to approve the King, and they only do that if the crown prince can prove his value in a sort of ritual that would show his connection to the Horned One (the consort to Mother Nature - Jade). This is something that I would probably keep outside the AU as well, since 1) this is how Keith and Maeve met and 2) having religion validating the monarchy is a big deal historically, so why not have another kingdom doing that?

here ill start: celestite empire is where tala is from (still under works but the big inspiration is iran, secondary being iraq, syria, lebanon, turkiye). on the other side of the sea from the continent we know (where all the canon countries are), stretching far and wide towards the warmer zones of the earth (since the canon countries seem to have both summer and winter -besides acroite and obsidian possibly-, spring and autumn).

and the jasper republic (the equivalent of greece remixed with italy if you will), which is an island in the sea between benitoite and celestite, with a history of amicable relations with its neighbours, but harbouring heavy revolts and civil wars on its territories.

So, a little Modern AU Keith and Maeve as parents to cheer me up. They won't have as many kids as "in universe" Keith and Maeve because it's a different context, but they're definitely having babies.

Alright! Jade is a canon kingdom, but we don't know too much about it, so, with Mimi's permission, let me share my thoughts about it, specifically about paganism.

First, one canon* information: they have a flower festival in the summer, when people gather up to make a traditional dance and ask for blessings.

The fact that Keith's crest is a stag and that Jade is heavily agricultural and connected with nature are also some big indicators of a pagan kingdom to me, and this is how my OCverse headcanons started.

*It's from the 3rd Election event that will be available in English later on this year.

OCverse headcanons under the cut ⬇️

First, in my OCverse I separated Jade in North and South. It's a huge kingdom, so it seems normal to me that it would have cultural differences within its territory.

The capital of Jade is located in the North (it makes more sense to me since whenever someone travels from Rhodolite to the Jadean palace it doesn't seem to take too long). I see this region as a little more... Metropolitan? It has bigger, more organized towns, and science and culture are more "advanced". They keep some traditions from the "old religion", such as the flower festival, but the newer the generation, the farthest it gets from the meaning of it. Not that North Jade has replaced the old religion with a new one or become completely agnostic, but it is growing apart, especially when compared to South Jade.

South Jade is the keeper of the old religion. It's more agricultural than the North and organized in small villages. A big part of it is under a duchess that also happens to be a high priestess. In my OCverse, certain positions within the old religion currently are only achieved by members of nobility (is it a good thing? Idk 😶). But they keep traditions, festivals, and even rituals as part of their daily lives, and their bond with Mother Nature is very strong. Tanzanite was only revealed after I've thought about these headcanons, but I wonder if maybe the proximity has had some kind of influence either on their faith or on the way they keep practicing it.

I still haven't thought of specific deities for this religion other than Mother Nature herself, the Horned God as her consort, and fairies as Nature's spirits that cannot be seen (some claim to have met them, tho, and some say they can hear them too).
