do you guys remember the Old Guard. remember when there was a major mainstream hollywood action scifi motion picture starring hot women with guns where gay people kissed on the mouth passionately. and the movie was both critically and financially successful. that movie feels like a fucking fever dream. i'll never achieve the high i got when that movie came out ever again

I don’t know enough about languages to know if this particular miscommunication would even happen but I love the idea of Yusuf causally mentioning that he’s a good artist like one time and Nicolo automatically assuming he means painting and drawing and such, so when they start trying to find the women in their dreams Nicolo is like “You should draw them. So we can ask others if they look familiar.” Meanwhile Yusuf, who mostly did pottery work featuring very intricate patterns and geometric designs, is like. Uh. I can try I guess? I don’t know how much it’ll help

I love Booker's introduction because it is a villain's introduction. We see him from behind, and there's a shot where his shirt lifts and we see the gun in his waistband so we know he's armed. There's such cinematic tension. He's on a motorbike, and it feels like he's chasing Andy. She's looking over her shoulder. The bike is loud, it's fast. But when he stops in front of her, she smiles. The nuance, the thought behind it. It really sets up his arc in the first shot. He will betray her, and she will forgive him anyway.

One of the things I like about kaysanova is that I think Nicky is the one who's least resistant to the modern changes (is a sniper, had guns as his first choice for the mission while Joe used his sword), but out of the two of them Nicky is undeniably the one who looks like he doesn't know how to turn his phone on and Joe is the one who looks like he's about to casually drop a meme reference that will make Nile choke
