What do you do when you give a character extreme vision problems but hate the headcanon that he’s illiterate?

Solution: comically large cartoony glasses

Even non romantically I love there character dynamic, the way the writers make there relationship (even as friends), like how Kai genuinely trust Cole with his life, how funny it is that animators and some writers (including from the books/comics) keep putting next to each other or having a sub polt together while the others are doing other things (like in seabound and prime empire) or Kai yelling out for Cole in sesson 13 and later saying "kick his butt, Cole!", or in season 10 Kai is visibly distressed and wanting to go back to get Cole.
