i like to think when annabeth and percy get married percy takes annabeths last name

i feel like the name “percy jackson” has so much history connected to so much trauma and it’s known by so many monsters/gods alike that he’s just done with it he just wants a new beginning and takes annabeths last name to symbolize that

maybe they name their first kid jackson giving that name a new meaning

instead of jackson the name following destroyer attached to a killer of thousands of monsters a hero of olympus twice over its jackson, maybe just jack for short, a baby something of life a kid who gets to grow up a kid rather then a soldier someone meant to live not told to die

i like the idea that no one really thinks that’s gonna happen maybe sally jokes with annabeth that she’ll be the new mrs jackson maybe people even talk about the power that name holds (literally lmao)

then during one of the nights their planning their wedding they’re curled up together percy’s head against her chest getting ready for bed and percy confesses how much that name has haunted him

maybe annabeth confesses that she’s always liked her last name and though she didn’t care enough to fight against the name change but she’s more then happy to keep it

maybe she’s the first person to call percy by that new name that night, whispering it against the top of his head

I have been thinking of darker sides of demigods

A child of Hermes, looking in your eyes while making a promise they don't plan to keep. You don't even feel their hand on you, and they already have what they wanted.

A party with a child of Dionysus gets too intense. You try to tell them it's too much, but the only thing that comes out of your mouth is a laugh. You're feeling thrown apart by too many emotions at once. Next morning you feel terrible, barely alive, and they smile and tell you they're so excited to do it again.

A child of Demeter watches you leaving your garbage on the forest floor as you leave your hangout spot. One moment later, roots are holding your ankle and the ground open underneath you. They will eventually leave you go, they just pass the message "hurt the nature and i'll hurt you back."

A child of Aphrodite will look at you like you're their whole world, laugh like they're in love, hold your hand tight... And once they got what they wanted, they say it's over, but offers you stay on good terms. You'll never properly move on. For the rest of your life, you will miss and mourn them.

What top tier hilarious revenge that would be. Just Frank at the altar of Mars at the weirdest hours of the day being so fucking annoying in his prayers. Like to the point where the god can’t even ignore him. Frank also goes to Camp Half Blood JUST to visit the Ares temple and bother him more.

Does anyone ever think about how Leo Valdez was probably the worst to get posessed by those wind spirits to attack New Rome? Like he said himself he could only watch himself do it and he was very aware that it was "him" who fired the canons but it was entirely out of his control. He probably felt like he was back at 8 years old, seeing his home burn, not being able to do anything about it. This was the second time he felt like it was his fault but at the same time entirely out of his control that a home was burned down/fired at. First the home of him and his mom, then the home to his friend.

And what I also think about is how, with his aunt calling him a demon or a devil or smth, he must've had enough religious trauma and questions about his back then unexplained fire-abilities that at some point, that little traumatized boy went "what if I am posessed by a demon?"

And then he does get posessed by malevolent spirits. And attacks his friend's home.

And all he can do is watch.

i've always been confused about how the curse of hazel's gems affected sammy--or rather, didn't affect him. like he lived to be old enough to meet his great grandson, and that was decades after he sold hazel's diamond. that shouldn't have been possible. he shouldn't have been able to live such a long and happy life. which is why, when gaea told hazel in son that he died in the 60s, it's no surprise. he would have been in his late 20s-30s, could have suffered for a few years after setting up his machine shop before dying at what would be a tragically young age.

it's assumed, when we find out in moa, that sammy did live a long life, that gaea had just been lying for the sake of lying, trying to drag hazel's morale down. but what if she didn't know she was lying?

we know that hera had more than a small hand in leo's life. we know that sammy talked to her under the guise of callida before leo was even born. she knew about hazel and sammy's past and about the role she needed leo to play in the future. she knew that if sammy had succumbed to the curse of selling the diamond, it was very likely leo never would have been born.. so what if she somehow played the curse, wove a story where it took sammy's life, while she let him live under the shroud of that lie.

but the thing about curses is... you can't just take them away with no consequences, that's not how that works. at some point someone is going to have to pay up, something hera would be more than aware of. so she (or pluto or whoever would have control over the parameters of this curse) kept shifting the curse onto the next generation, until they got to leo. until hera had the valdez she needed. and then she let her grasp on the curse go..

and you know who died tragically in her late 20s-30s? esperanza valdez.

heroes of olympus au where esperanza ends up living (either the fire never happened or she ends up surviving). leo enjoys his quiet life with his mother until, one day, she mentions she’s been seeing someone recently, and that they’ve been getting serious. leo is happy for his mother, but he can’t help being a little jealous that he has to share his mom with someone else.

he’s quite shocked when he finds out his mom’s new boyfriend is none other than famous actor tristan mclean. he’s even more shocked to find out the man has a daughter around his age.

esperanza and tristan were worried about how to bring their two families together, worried their children, despite being the same age as each other, wouldn’t get along. turns out, what they had to worry about wasn’t them not getting along, but instead them getting along way too well.

at first, the two were tense and suspicious around each other. however, after learning about leo’s knack for inventing and piper’s ability to persuade people, they became a chaotic, unstoppable duo. after that day, the two became inseparable, determined to always be there for each other and to leave chaos in their wake, wherever they may go.

Esperanza never spoke bad about Hephaestus, and she knew he was going to come back, if not for her, just for kid + Hephaestus admitting he's always liked her and Leo is his favorite + Leo always missing her + negative childhood interactions with gods (tía callida/gaea) → Leo constantly faced with the cons of being a demigod but always trying to find a good solution for everyone

vs Piper never liking her mom and everything about Aphrodite's claiming causing more issues, there is never any benefit + Tristan breaking when knowing the Gods are real, and it ruins his life repeatedly, being left ignorant of it all as the better option after all this ruin + Piper always wanting to go back to him + her only godliness pre-claiming was charmspeak she hated → Piper seeing all the terrifying parts of being a demigod, and eventually going back to her mortal life

vs Beryl who obsesses over Jupiter, only caring about herself, neglecting her kids + Zeus never acknowledging his kid even when he dies + Jason shunning her and claiming he's not her son anymore + hera intervention and favoritism → Jason being a demigod all his life and desiring to just be a kid

I do think that Apollo, Hermes and Dionysus are the chaos trio of Mount Olympus and that Apollo and Hermes have been trying to figure out elaborate ways to sneak D some wine without Zeus finding out for the past hundred years that all get progressively more stupid.

I feel like for a demigod of any pantheon the highest form of bond possible is comfortability with each other's weapons. Annabeth has found herself holding riptide on occasion and making good use of it, Leo's held katopris before a monster etc. This bond however is not expected between demigods and their parents. This wouldn't however stop Percy from finding his father's trident in his hands when battling a giant alongside him.

It’s definitely been mentioned before but I love the idea of the 7 + Nico on the Argo II just doing dumb kid/ teenager stuff??? Like yes they’re all powerful demigods on a dangerous quest but they’re also a group of teenagers (some as young as 14) with ADHD and minimal adult supervision.

You’re telling me during a quiet shift on night-watch Leo and Frank didn’t snicker whilst daring each other to spit off the side of the boat?? Like imagine Percy and Jason having a game of ‘who can yell this dumb phrase the loudest without laughing’, or Piper and Annabeth borrowing Hazel’s drawing equipment to do ‘portraits’ of each other, or Hazel and Nico both awake at 3am making crazy concoctions with the unlimited food in the ship’s cafeteria. Meanwhile Coach Hedge is running around yelling stop it shut up don’t waste perfectly good pancakes building a food castle

You’re telling me no one packed a deck of cards for this journey? They didn’t have a single UNO tournament?? They didn’t all set up their sleeping equipment in the mess hall for a sleepover one night???
