How to Style My Aesthetic!
When it comes to styling an aesthetic it can be so hard/overwhelming, but don’t worry I can help fix that with just ONE simple step.
Be Yourself
Tumblr media
*cricket sounds* 👁👄👁 BITC-
It’s cheesy I know an easier said then done, but very much the truth! I don’t know you personally, so I’m just going to give you the basic into making this process less overwhelming. What you’re going to want to do first is define the difference between Aesthetic and Style.
Aesthetic : concerned with beauty or the appreciation of beauty.
Tumblr media
Style : a distinctive appearance, typically determine by the principle according to which something is designed.
Think of an aesthetic as a theme to which you would style accordingly. I’m not going to list all of the aesthetics, so have a aesthetic you want or want to try in mind ( it’s really okay to have more then one.)
Now that you have your aesthetic or aesthetics in mind let’s get into the part that is overwhelming, styling clothes that go with your aesthetic. When looking for clothes your going to want to buy something that gives off the same beauty as your aesthetic. For example, In Mean Girls, The Plastics have a rule that is “on Wednesday we wear pink” Pink being the aesthetic/theme, looking at Regina an Gretchen’s Wednesday look they are wearing hints of the actual color pink with Gretchen wearing a pink sweater and Regina wearing a pink cardigan but they also have the Beauty of pink. Pink is always being associated with being girly and/or sweet. You can see this aesthetic come to light with the styling of the typical girly clothing and accessories both wearing short skirts and having purses.
Then you have Karen’s outfit with it just being monochromatic which is literally taking the pink aesthetic literal. There is nothing wrong with going exactly on “Theme” pink on pink is aesthetically pleasing. Now you have Cady, Cady is not aesthetically pleasing in any way yes she is wearing pink but there is no beauty in Cady’s outfit. She is wearing a shirt that doesn’t fit, Jeans that can easily be over look and just overall not comfortable an you can see it.
Tumblr media
You don’t want to be a Cady on a Wednesday okay, so the most important thing is finding clothes that YOU are actually comfortable with and that fits you well and please take your time in finding pieces to put in your wardrobe to help style your aesthetic better. There is literally no need to rush, rushing cause stress, stress cause wrinkles and wrinkles cause aging, okay? okay! Xoxo 💋
✨✨✨
If you don’t have or know your aesthetic but really want one I can’t help you. There are people who can but I believe that this is a trial and error experience you need to have on your own an allow yourself to try new “themes” I understand the fear because people love to add rules on what makes your aesthetic acceptable in the aesthetic community but it’s a bunch of bullshit we’re not meant to just be one thing your mood changes, things you experience in life can change you, you grow up an start learning from past mistakes so how you dress an style your clothes will always change but your beauty is what will last forever and that’s something no one other than yourself can teach you.
✨✨✨
This one was pretty short. Hope this made sense an a easier process for you I also hope I didn’t leave you more confused the you were before. Thank You for reading 💋🖤💋

Y2K vs Early 2000s pt 1.2
Here’s a video I found on TikTok that really resembles the Early 2000s for people who aren’t Paris Hilton.
Here a YouTuber that I found that style is based on the Early 2000s.

Y2K vs Early 2000s
It really hurts my soul that y’all don’t know or even think there’s a difference between Y2K and the Early 2000s aesthetics.
Y2K
Y2K = Year 2 Thousand. It’s the 90s and the internet is getting better an fast by the year people thought by the time they reach the Year 2000 internet an the world we know would be like the Jetson’s. The music and outfit of the late 90s became more futuristic and cyber. So when I see Cyber Y2K I literally get this sharp headache because you’re literally saying Cyber Cyber because Y2K stands for Technology then you see the look at the outfit photos for this “Cyber Y2K” and it’s just Urban early 2000s street wear 🙄🤦‍♀️. (Urban is just a political correct way of saying Black People). When wanting to dress Y2K think of Zenon, TLC, Apple, an The Matrix just to name a few inspo.
Tumblr media
Fabric Texture: Metallic, Spandex, Holographic, Latex, Vinyl, Leather, Mesh
Colors : Neon, Sliver, Black, green, red, Hot pink, The more glitter the better, iridescent
Patterns: Marble, Swirls, Zebra, illusion
Y2K looks in the 2000s were mostly worn when you went out to a party/club that night or was on stage performing as a musician.
Tumblr media
Early 2000s
The Early 2000s to explain this style in a nutshell I would have to say Chic Casual.
Tumblr media
How to dress like the early 2000s isn’t copying what Paris Hilton wore most likely you can’t afford it an they no longer make it an resale is a bitch. So when looking to dress for this aesthetic tap in to your inner Pre teen, you think everything goes to together an 80% of your wardrobe is pink. Don’t be afraid to mixed patterns and make sure to pick out clothes you actually like an would wear because your accessories would usually make your outfit feel the most 2000s. It really didn’t matter what you wore as long as your bag was in the silhouette of baguette or pouchette, silver jewelry, ski like ombre sunglasses, and to top it off a Headband/Trucker Hat.
Basic Must Have : Tank Top, Tube Top, slogan Tees, velvet tracksuit.
Shoes: Kitten Heels, Sandals/FlipFlop, and Ugg’s.
Makeup: very light, girl next door an don’t forget blush.
Low rise Jeans
Heey ...... Heeyy How y’all doing??
👁👄👁
I admit I did have seat on the hate train for low rise jeans because I wasn’t my ideal of “skinny” but one day I look in mirror an then pulled my shorts down to my hips an realize — Damn this is kinda HOT! Being “skinny” in the 2000s was hard. I can’t nor do I have the interest or correct information to dive in an talk about Body Dysmorphia. ( if interested do your own research an dont self diagnose yourself). You believe that Low Rise can only be worn if your “skinny”. Which is not true. They’re like any other jeans the difference is that they just sit at the hip. You see people wear the jeans but only in a crop top so it’s understandable to see why you think only “skinny” people can wear them but you can pair Low Rise with anything, get this like it just a regular pair of jeans wow who would of thunk it . Like I wrote earlier your accessories matter the most.
Look 1: Black hoodie, midnight blue jeans, white bag, 4in Platform sandals white of course to match the bag, colorful toy rings, rainbow tennis necklace layered with your gold name plate necklaces, fur black bucket hat.
Look 2: Okay so you know the Blumarine Fall 2021 show okay so this dress
Tumblr media
With classic blue low rise blue jeans, ( I’m not the one for dress over jeans but this is the 2000s you’re looking for so) I like the red boot that they got going on so a red cowboy boot, hair like the model half up half down, ( or feeling adventurous red knitted cowboy hat) Sliver name plate necklace layered with a sliver playboy bunny necklace, sliver bracelets, red ombré ski glasses.
Since you now realize that they are normal jeans an nothing to be scared of, let’s remember what makes a Jean a good Jean, how they fit! so please if you never try a pair on try a pair on you can’t knock it before you try it who knows it might become a fav in your wardrobe, and if it doesn’t that okay at least you tried and now your reason on why you don’t like the jeans can finally add up.
TW ‼️⚠️‼️
Now I will say this their is a special place in hell for people who use these pair of jeans or people who wear this pair of jeans to feed off other people insecurities or help feed your own it’s not okay (in my opinion) to help people make their mental illness worst. I’m all here for expressing on how YOU feel during YOUR fasting and how excited YOU are to see YOUR collarbones or how disappointed YOU are that YOU binge. But when you take advantage of this community an feel like it’s necessary to tell them what makes their disorders real or not is disgusting and making a pair of fucking jeans a propaganda poster for it is even worst.
It’s okay to call The early 2000s Y2K it’s not that deep an sounds better. ;) just now you know that it doesn’t mean what you think. 💋

Four inches Below the Butt
Tumblr media
What qualifies a skirt to become Mini majority will say above the knees, Paris Hilton would say a belt but I say four inches below the butt— well at least that’s how I like my Mini’s 🤪. The 60s were all about the youth aka the Baby Boomers of the post-war in the 50s, they have now become teens/young adults. Baby Boomers now wanted nothing to do with their parents generational way of traditional living which included everything to Religion, Work, Sex and yup you guess it FASHION. Sound familiar ( Gen Z ) history does this weird thing where it repeats itself, an to understand why the Mini is still a iconic piece of wardrobe till this day is because every generation pushes for change an what’s the best way to show change — well through your clothing of course.
Tumblr media
🎶If you wanna get technical clap ya hands🎶 Mary Quant wasn’t the inventor of the short skirt however she did name it after her car Mini — Mini is a car brand in the UK that kinda looks like a KIA you know the one those Guinea Pigs drive, anyways Mary Q. is from London UK an was already a well know designer with her shop called Bazaar locate on Kings Road at just the age of 21. Mary being young an seeing the clothes people were producing didn’t really line up with what she felt the youth wanted which led her into designing her own clothes for her store. Bazaar was a store where you can go an hear loud music, have free drinks, see fun creative window display and it stay open later then most store — this doesn’t really sound as ground breaking but in the late 50s an early 60s that wasn’t the norm, your brand is to reflect you as a designer an many stores at the time sold mature clothing she was young an just wanting to have fun. You can definitely till that was her agenda with the Bazaar Shop. Mary has worn Short skirt for herself stating the reason for a shorter hemline is so she can run/move better in them. To give you a clear insight of what push for this sudden change in fashion was the fact of Rock n Roll and Birth Control. Women become more freeing with there sexuality — can you imagine the shock of the older Women an Men of the 60s seeing women young women take control of their body’s🤭 what I wouldn’t give to be a fly on the wall in 60s chileeee you don’t even know.
Tumblr media
Mary Q. Introduction the Mini Skirt to the London consumer in 1964 seen on the likes of the iconic Twiggy. Mary’s Mini came in different colors, shapes, and silhouette which what really made her stand out gaining more popularity. Mary Q. credits her customers for making the Mini so popular because they would come in request them in the different colors an sometimes ask for the skirt to be even shorter. It didn’t make its way to the US until 1966 when high end designer’s like André Courrèges and YSL (Yves Saint Laurent) would show them on their runway, Dior however wasn’t very fond of the trend. All Fashion an Vintage lovers have heard of or seen photos of the Iconic Mini Skirt Forever sign outside of Dior (shown in the photo up above in the left hand corner), Dior did not shown mini skirts that summer (most likely because every fashion house at the time only showed haute couture and had customers who were old) on the runway causing the woman of the “British Society for the Protection of Mini Skirts” to protest outside of Dior. I don’t know if Dior added Miniskirts next season but highly doubt it being that High end fashion houses started doing Ready to Wear in 70s and by the time we reach the 70s the skirts were back to maxi. Reading article after article on how the Miniskirt became a way for women to express their sexuality is so weird to me because it only seemed like if you wore a miniskirt you must be sex crazy. Sometimes people can confuse femininity with being sexual, sexuality or being sexual is an action where femininity is a feeling, you can easily show your feelings in your clothing. (not factual just my opinion on how I see it do as you wish) Miniskirt I believe are for any an everyone! If you don’t mind the shortness of it wear it — size truly doesn’t matter if you too love this style of skirt especially since it comes in different silhouettes you can find what makes you comfortable and have it look good on your body. Mini’s became more then just a trend it became TIMELESS!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I hope you enjoy reading an hope it all made sense I feel I was all over the place and never really got to the point it’s just Miniskirt rule and I love them.
Thank You 💋 Peace ✌️!

JuniorPlastic Column
Writing about my love for fashion and how fashion an lifestyle go hand an hand. Not a professional writer, honestly not a professional anything. I’m very much inspired by Sex and the City, Carrie Bradshaw and her column.
