Kung fu Panda 4 being announced reminded me of how much I love this entire franchise!

I really hope that with the old villains returning we get to see them in their full/semi-full glory and not just like the jade warriors Kai used where yes they can fight but are pretty much just hollow husks. I feel there is way too much comedy to be had with Tai Lung, Lord Shen and General Kai all in a room together trying to plan evil scheme #152

I can just see poor Tai Lung screwing up a mission and Shen threatens to turn him into a fur rug😭😭😭

missed opportunity to let Gary Oldman bitch about being stuck in a room full of kung fu masters. the very thing he wanted to destroy. additional missed opportunity to let Shen show up and have the chameleon fucking fail to take his kung fu. he doesn’t have any kung fu abilities mf fights with a sword and daggers and a fucking cannon he would be like “bitch you WISH”

I needed Kung Fu Panda 4 to be a lot of things and it was not those lot of things I needed it to be...

I don't think that makes it an irredeemably bad movie nor would I call it a straight up bad movie (especially since I know and can see how the crew really did their best to hold it together with some of the behind the scenes things I'm hearing...🥲) but it just feels very bland? Which makes me sad because the movie has some good ideas that could have been explored if the team was given the chance to do so and while it's a bit over the place I think Chameleon's motives are interesting as a concept but it just needed to be built upon.

However in an odd way Kung Fu Panda 4 has inspired me to think up of all the alternative directions the story and characters could have been taken in so maybe I may doodle up some of those ideas soon or never.
