Once they were wed, Anthony and Kate could not seem to get enough of each other. They made an art form of sneaking little touches and caresses any time they were together but were not alone.

Even years into their marriage, Anthony would claim he needed to fix a lock of Kate’s hair just to brush his fingers against her neck in a feather light touch that sent shivers down her spine before placing the softest of kisses on the sensitive spot below her earlobe. Even when they were old and gray, they nearly always held hands in the drawing room as they had tea with their family, or under the table at informal meals. And they could often be found hidden in the corner of ballrooms laughing and smiling sweetly at each other when they thought nobody was looking.

Anthony made a tradition of always picking one perfect flower for Kate whenever they walked through the garden at Aubrey Hall where they became betrothed, both of them grateful every day for the buzzing twist of fate that brought them together as man and wife. It was after all, the greatest blessing and the simplest of pleasures to be so blissfully in love with one’s best friend.
