A/N: There isn't any content for Garm and that makes me sad because I really do like his character but I hope these were okay! The Reader's gender, sex, pronouns, ethnicity, race, etc.. are not specified so I think everyone should be free to read.

The first time you brought up your concerns, he laughed it off thinking that you were joking.

But when he realized that you weren’t laughing with him, he knew it was serious.

Garm always reassures you that he’s strong enough to come back alive when he goes out on missions or picks a fight with someone.

Granted he’s stronger than a majority of the fighters out there but that doesn’t stop you from worrying, especially if he were to fight someone as strong as Thorfinn or stronger.

He never had anyone fret over him before so he’s not sure how to handle it at first and may have walked off the first few times.

But when he came back covered in bruises and dirt, he could see the fear and sadness in your eyes as you helped clean him up.

Your reactions slowly chipped away at something inside of him before he started to feel pangs of guilt at how many times you had to help him because he couldn’t feel his arms or legs from how sore they were.

Admittedly, he’s not the most careful when he’s out and can be reckless but with the image of your upset face in mind, he makes him slightly more mindful about the fights he’s getting himself into.

Whenever he holds back from fighting, he gets fidgety and goes to find other methods to help him get his energy out.

Once he returns to you, the first thing he tells you is how he held back from fighting this one other guy just so that he can see how much more at ease you are knowing that before a smile breaks out.

Your smile is contagious to him as he’s giving you a big hug, hoping that you’ll praise him for it.

Garm won’t stop fighting all together but he will go out of his way to train harder so that he’ll become stronger and it can guarantee him that he’ll almost always win whenever he does get into fights to come back home to you.

Canute with a Cunning S/O

A/N: I had no idea who Margaery was until I did some research and honestly, I didn't think I'd find a new kin today but here we are, hm? I wrote about both Canute when he was a teen and after he became King. There are slight manga spoilers but nothing super deep. I did not give the Reader a specific gender, pronouns, ethnicity, race, etc.. so I think everyone should be free to read. Thank you for your request!

Young Canute

Canute thought that the idea of arranged marriages were sad since they usually weren’t out of love but since his father had arranged his, he had no choice but to grin and bear it.

Upon your first meeting, he had a feeling there was more to you than you were letting on as his father forced him to greet you.

You intimidated him which only added on to his natural timidness and once he saw you in action, he knew just how dangerous you could really be.

His father was so pleased with you that he joked about wedding you off to Canute’s brother instead but you insisted on staying with the younger prince.

As your fiance/husband, Canute has witnessed many different facades that you express to gain the favor of others.

Admittedly, he both respects and envies your skills and wishes he could be mentally stronger and more charismatic like you but there were other times where it really frightened him.

If you genuinely love him and show him, then he’ll let his guard down and will slowly come to love you back when he understands your good-heart and true loyalty to your family and country.

Ragnar was wary and suspicious at first and it took Canute a lot of convincing for him to get him to like you; he’s extremely protective of Canute but once he opens his eyes to your true nature, he treats you just as he would the young prince.

He’s shocked at how well you plan out schemes and events and hopes that you can give Canute enough courage and motivation to be a stronger person.

It’s a thorfinn x fem black reader in a modernish? Au where they are very much like mortica and Gomez Adams from the Adams family with askeladd,Bjorn, and thorkell being the uncles ragnar and Canute being the uncles/grandpa and of course thorfinns and y/n’s family is included in the bunch as grandparents as aunts/uncles and grandparents. And they are ready to have their 6th child being twins two little boys and thorfinn is trying to hold back tears but can’t help be so grateful for his family and friends he has and y/n of course being the loving wife she is takes pictures and makes sure to put it in the family photo book and tells them she wants to have more kids while they all sweatdrop at how she wants more kids after just having twins:3

A/N: I actually had no clue on what the Addams family was about until I did some research for this request and watched one episode of the original run. It's so cute and I love it. I really have to thank you for sending this request, otherwise I wouldn't have known how adorable the franchise/series is. This was so much fun to write so I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I based it off of Thorfinn once he's grown up in the manga and the The Addams Family show in 1964. Their speech is more traditional to try and fit that sort of Victorian feel but I hope that's alright. The Reader's gender, ethnicity, race, etc.. honestly was not specified the entire time I was writing this so I think everyone should be free to read.

Carefully holding a weighted camera in one hand, Thorfinn fogged up the lens with his hot breath and cleaned it with a rag.

Eyeing the dark lens, he searched for any signs of scratches and smiled to himself upon discovering none.

Behind him sat Uncle Thorkell and Grandpa Ragnar on the couch, one twin boy in each of their laps.

A string of surprised yelps were pulled from Ragnar as the infant in his lap tugged at his beard, laughing at his reactions.

“Now not too harshly, lad. I would like to keep the hair on my face, thank you,” he tried to explain but was only cut off with another sharp howl of pain at a particularly strong yank.

Across the room laughed Uncle Bjorn and Askeladd while they secured a clean fabric over an empty wall as the backdrop for the photoshoot.

The latter briefly glanced over towards the couch, wearing a playful smile, “It seems like we’ve discovered which one has Thorfinn’s strength.”

“Thorfinn,” Bjorn called, catching the attention of the younger man as he turned to face them, “How does this look?”

Smiling, Thorfinn nodded, “Yes! That looks wonderful! Y/N will surely be pleased.”

Turning his head towards the stairs, he called out to you, “Darling? Are you almost ready?”

“Be right down in a minute,” you replied while you straightened out your son’s button down shirt and spoke in a softer tone, “There. You look amazing. Go down and show your father, hm?”

He beamed up at you, nodding enthusiastically before he disappeared down the steps.

A small hand gently tugged on your hand causing you to turn to face your young daughter, an excited smile adorning her face.

“How do I look?” spinning around, she showed off her outfit to you as you clapped, a grin breaking out on your face.

“You look absolutely perfect, sweetheart,” you complimented, patting her head once she stopped to hug your waist.

Running towards you from down the hall were your last two children with Uncle Canute trailing behind him.

“I hope these clothes are alright. They insisted on wearing them since they’re your favorite, Y/N,” he explained, his eyes focusing down on them as they formed a small group hug around you.

Your hand made their way to their faces, eyeing their appearance and nodding in approval, “Of course. They all look perfect, thank you.”

“Darling?” your husband called out to you once more from downstairs while you ushered your kids to go.

Looking over at Canute, you smiled, “Ready?” In response, he mimicked your expression and nodded before you descended the steps together to meet with the sight of Thorfinn taking a photo of Askeladd and Bjorn.

A flash of light flickered from the camera then Thorfinn stood straight back up, ignoring the groans of the pair in front of him.

“Has the flash always been so bright?” Askeladd grumbled, asking no one in particular while rubbing his eyes as your children gathered around your husband, wanting to look at the pretty camera.

Thorfinn laughed and held it up higher so they couldn’t reach, “Careful now, children. Don’t want to break the camera before we’ve taken the good pictures.”

Together, Bjorn and Askeladd made sounds of protest, offended by the younger man’s comment who only laughed it off.

From his spot on the couch, Thorkell hollered with laughter as you made your way over to take your twin from his lap.

Looking down, you cooed at him causing him to smile and take his mittened hand into his mouth.

Noticing his absence, his brother looked around, tears slowly forming in his eyes.

A panicked call of your name turned your attention towards Ragnar who has his eyes widening at your other son.

Swiftly, you picked him up so both of them were in your arms before walking to Thorfinn and smiling, “Ready, darling?”

Beaming at you, he nodded, “Ready as I’ll ever be. Bjorn, could you help Y/N with the kids?”

The brunette extended his arms out to help take the boys from you and brought them over to the backdrop against the wall.

Your husband carefully handed the camera over to you, chuckling and patting the heads of the rest of the children around him then helped Bjorn with the twins.

Uncle Ragnar and Thorkell stood from the couch, gesturing their nieces and nephews to step away from you as you got into position to take the photos of your newborns once they were in position.

Askeladd came to stand next to you, making funny faces at your infant sons, causing them to giggle, smiling perfectly for the camera.

Moments later, you were satisfied with your work and looked at your boys, dreamily sighing, “I want another one.”

In a split second, all eyes were on you before Thorkell broke out in boisterous laughter.

Askeladd stepped aside, allowing room for the rest of your children to huddle around you, excited responses adding onto the noise made by their loud uncle.

They bickered amongst each other on what they wanted their next sibling to be while Thorfinn ran a hand down his face, looking between your little group and the duo against the backdrop.

“You know what?” he began, making everyone stop to turn their attention towards him while a smile broke out on his face, “Why not?”

Flufftober Day 1: Attraction

A/N: When I ran @iwritesinsandsins I did Kinktober last year but since Tumblr silenced me, I will be writing for Flufftober this year on this blog. I have requests still in my inbox that I am working on and will be sure to get to them once I catch up on assignments for my classes. Once again, the reader’s sex, gender, nationality and ethnicity are unspecified so everyone should be free to read.

You were absolutely captivating to him despite there not being anything special about doing your homework.

Despite the ordinary task, you were anything but.

On your end, though, you were unable to concentrate with his gaze fixed on you.

Twice within the half hour had you glanced up at him from across the table, only to find him looking down, pretending to focus on his own assignment.

By the third time you caught him, the subtle loving smile on his face quickly dropped and he wore a stunned expression instead.

Despite the pink hue growing on his face, he couldn’t tear his eyes away from yours as you asked why he had been staring.

Miyamura blinked at you while allowing the question to sink in until he moved to rub his neck sheepishly, a bashful smile playing along his lips.

His gaze casted over to the side as he admitted quietly, “You look amazing today,”

“I look the same as any other day,” you shrugged, not thinking much of it.

Whether it was his own response or yours, he didn’t seem satisfied with it before a sigh escaped him, “No, I mean..”

Pressing his lips together, he turned back to face you and dropped his hands in his lap before slowly picking out his next words, “You’re so radiant. I don’t know how to explain it exactly but you’re stunning. You look amazing everyday but what I mean is that you have this beautiful energy around you. In the way you hold yourself or whenever you’re telling me about that one show you’re into lately, it really shows. It’s comforting.. It makes me feel safe and I want to be that kind of person for you, too! I don’t know how but if there’s a way then please let me know. I want you to feel as happy and loved as I do when I’m with you..”

Finishing up the last of his thoughts, his voice trailed off when the realization dawned on him at his own words.

Neither of you spoke for a moment before he nervously called out your name.

The warmth in your heart spread to the rest of your being as embarrassed laughter escaped you, causing Izumi to hide his face in his hands.

“D-Don’t laugh!” he groaned until he felt your hands gently pull his own away.

Your laughs gradually died down as you regained your breath, staring back at each other and soon brushing your thumbs against his face.

Being sure to hold him in place so he couldn’t look away, you reassured him, “You don’t have to do anything else but be yourself because I already love you the way that you are,”

His heart fluttered at your words and despite his insecurities trying to convince him that you’re lying, there’s another part of him that diminishes those negative beliefs.

A relieved smile was inevitable while his eyes became thinly glossed over with tears, “You do?”

Moving down to press a kiss to his nose, Miyamura felt his own eyes close at your affection and fully allowed the shared love between the two of you to envelope his heart and soul.

Just as gentle as your actions, your words came to,

“I do.”

I am honored to be tagged! I’m a little late since I did not get the notification because my blog has been silenced. Anywho, I’ve gone through the others’ advice so I hope I don’t end up repeating their words too much. There’s no particular order in which these are going in so I’m just going to throw down my thoughts.

Like the others have said before, I would also advise to avoid repetition in your works unless they're serving a purpose and/or you’re trying to bring more attention to them. To help, you can highlight or bold words to see how many times you’ve used them in your piece and go back to change them later. If you struggle with finding substitutes, you can use a thesaurus to help broaden your vocabulary.

Think of what sort of writing format you want to write such as one-shots, headcanons, short stories, etc.. I personally prefer headcanons because they’re quick and easy to get ideas down and there’s no specific order you have to put them in. There are works with headcanons where they do have a certain plot and that’s totally okay because there are no rules to writing. One-shots and stories usually have more descriptive words and follow a storyline compared to headcanons where the thoughts can jump around.

If you’re doing Character x Reader works, you may want to consider the Reader’s gender, personality, ethnicity, etc.. Say you claim the story is for everyone but you use “She/Her” pronouns for the Reader; that would exclude Readers who go by other pronouns which is why I always use “They/Them” unless I specify beforehand. I know a few people who get aggravated when the Reader’s “cheeks flushed a bright pink” but they have darker skin tones. Therefore instead of aiming to describe the colors I switch to describing the rise of temperature or their physical reaction like with their eyes or body motions. Admittedly, it’s a little difficult to keep a blank canvas for the Reader but it can force yourself to become more creative and think outside the box with your descriptions.

How They Are as Parents

Part One | Part Two

A/N: Garm is 17 or 18 years old canonically so I wrote this with an aged up version of him in mind. I apologize for his in advance but I’m trying to stick to his character the best that I can. These are longer and more wholesome than Part One because we know the traumas of those guys so.. No Reader Insert but feel free to read these as if you are their child(ren).

Einar

Einar is the type that values his family above all else, cherishing every moment he has with them and loving them unconditionally so it’s no surprise to find his child(ren) hanging around him while he works and are either playing a couple yards away or eagerly insisting that they want to help him.

As his child(ren) grow(s) up, he would want to teach them everything he knows and is willing to drop anything just to spend time with them, which is his way of letting them know that he will always be there for them no matter what.

Whatever his child(ren) want(s) to do with their life/lives, he’ll be there to support them 110% because no matter what they choose, it won’t make him love them any less.

Overall, Einar may struggle in parenting at first but he’s patient and willing to understand how their mind(s) work so that he can help them grow and flourish to become who they want to be.

Snake

Snake is awkward in the beginning and it takes him a while to figure out how to adjust to being a parent but it gives him a different sense of responsibility that he’s used to which makes him a bit protective over them; he starts to learn how to do basic domestic tasks like cooking for them or helping them wash themselves.

Most of the time, he lets them do their own thing as long as it’s not dangerous and asks Fox and/or Badger to watch them when he needs to deal with other matters on the farm.

When they’re not out and about, his child(ren) can usually be found in Snake’s arms, soundlessly sleeping together before his nightly patrol.

Overall, Snake may have been hesitant at first but everyone else can see how they grow on him, making him notably happier and more playful and wishing that he can help let them live a happy and content life.

Thorgil

Thorgil is conflicted on the idea of parenting; while he does want his own child(ren), he’s unsure if he’s fit to take care of them and is unsure aside from the vague memory of his mother taking care of him and Olmar when they were younger.

He won’t admit it but looking after his child(ren) is harder than it looks so he mostly lets them run wild as long as it makes them happy and will occasionally play with them but when he has to leave the farm, he never fails to bring back a gift for them.

As they grow up, he’ll teach them how to defend and stand up for themselves so that they can be strong and knowledgeable of people and the world around them.

Overall, Thorgil is actually a fun parent but knows when to put his foot down and just wants his child(ren) to succeed and make something of themselves so he won’t have to worry about them too much when he’s gone.

Wulf

Wulf is both thrilled and anxious when it comes to parenting and will either ask experienced parents for their advice or he’ll try to figure out how to handle situations on his own.

He is already protective over them at the beginning and it only grows with time as they get older and become more exposed to the not-so-nice world and people around them.

As the King’s Thane, he’s often gone and can’t spend as much time with his child(ren) as much as he’d like but he often thinks about them, hoping that they’re safe.

Overall, Wulf misses his child(ren) all the time so he’ll make it up to them when he returns home and stays up to make them something special so by the time he’s gone and they wake up in the morning, they have a little gift from him.

Garm (18+ Years Old)

Garm has no knowledge on parenting whatsoever and admittedly, didn’t want to be one in the first place whether the child(ren) is/are biologically his or not.

Once he learns that they can basically become a mini version of him, he reconsiders his opinions and wonders how strong they’d become in the future so he’ll try to train them but someone has to remind him that there are things children at their age cannot do until they’re older.

He likes to think otherwise but when he realizes that they actually can’t, he gets disappointed but will try to find alternatives for now until they’re older if he’s patient enough.

Overall, Garm severely lacks any domestic skills or knowledge about that life and has a hard time with parenting his child(ren) but if he’s patient and stays open-minded, they’ll slowly grow on him and he’ll show [what others would guess is] love in odd ways that only someone who truly understands his mind would recognize as an act of affection.

How They Are As Parents

A/N: My motivation gave out maybe 1/3 of the way into writing this so I hope these headcanons are still decent enough. I plan on making a Part 2 with Einar, Snake, and the others eventually when my head doesn’t want to explode. There are no Reader-inserts! These headcanons only talk about the characters and their children who’s appearance, gender, and sex are unspecified. Feel free to put yourself in the position of their children, though if you’d like.

Thorfinn (19+ Years Old)

If Thorfinn continued to carry his younger mindset and grudge against Askeladd into his adult years, he would’ve been a very awkward parent who begrudgingly shows his child(ren) affection on a good day.

Admittedly, he does actually love them but at times wishes that they were born to someone else that’s more suitable and fitting for the role of a parent than he is because he’s so focused on defeating Askeladd but now he’s conflicted on what he really wants with the child(ren) around.

Canonically as an adult, Thorfinn would try to raise his child(ren) in a similar fashion to how his own father taught him and to live a peaceful life away from the traumas of war.

Overall, he’d be a gentle father who teaches his child(ren) to be respectful, strong, and appreciative of what they have while also teaching them that situations do not have to be settled using violence.

Askeladd

Looking at his own childhood, Askeladd does not want to turn out like his father and would actively look out for his child(ren), making sure that they’re not in harm’s way as much as he can given what he does for a living.

He’s torn between wanting to shield them from the flaws of humanity but also expose them to it so that they can toughen up rather than go into the world blindly.

Instead, he’ll settle on subtly teaching them lessons through other people from afar, asking them questions to get them to think on their own instead of him directly telling them the answers.

Overall, Askeladd would still be playful with his child(ren), often teasing them while letting them grow to be more knowledgeable about people and the world around them.

King Canute

Canute understood familial love when Ragnar treated him like his own son instead of Sweyn so he’d want to treat his child(ren) like how Ragnar had raised him.

The main issue with being King is that he’s swamped with royal duties to please the people and nations, and has to be extremely cautious of those that’d want to target him and his child(ren) so it can be hard for him to actually spend time with them.

He feels guilty for having Estrid look after them all the time despite his sister’s reassurance so at the end of the day when he can finally rest, he takes his child(ren) in his arms either his bedroom chambers or theirs and holds them close.

Overall, Canute is a loving father despite his absence but he makes sure to check in with them every day and silently swears to himself that he’ll do his best to make enough time to do whatever his child(ren) wants.

Thorkell

Thorkell is thrilled at the idea of being a father because he wants to teach them so many things but someone has to remind him that child(ren) can’t do what he does, nor can they reach his level at such a young age.

It makes him pouty and leads him to being bored most of the time so he’ll try to find activities that are both fun for him and the child.

As they grow up, Thorkell will slowly incorporate more of his interests onto his child(ren), occasionally praising them when they do something he hadn’t expected of them.

Overall, Thorkell can come off as a little overbearing if his child(ren) isn’t/aren’t used to it or share the same interests but he means well and just wants to have fun with them and have them grow up to be strong like their dad.

Bjorn

Bjorn is the kind of father that would get mad if any of the crewmates hands his child(ren) a weapon and they sometimes like to do it for fun.

He just doesn’t want them to get hurt nor does he want them to fight or even know about the horrors of war and the sorts of missions he goes on with Askeladd’s crew.

They’re not exactly the ideal role models he wants for his child(ren) and genuinely rather have them grow up to live a peaceful life but he will teach them self-defense for when they need it as long as he or Askeladd is the one teaching them.

Overall, Bjorn sometimes lets his paranoia get the best of him when it comes to his child(ren) but he wouldn’t give them up for anything else and wants them to know that they have a dad to rely on.

A/N: I know Lua and Baileys are canonically in a relationship. Either think of this as they’re not, make it polyamorous, or ignore it. The lack of Coffee Talk content on here makes me sad so I’ll contribute to it despite the little information to go off of from everyone but I did my best to keep them in character. If the creators of the game doesn’t want me to write about them, just let me know because.. Yeah. Once again, the Reader’s gender, sex, nationality, ethnicity, and species/race are unspecified so I think everyone should be free to read.

Gently sliding the paper over the smooth counter, the barista dodges questions that could reveal your identity as you had requested, leaving the sender of the note anonymous. Instead, they encourage the recipient to read it, carefully observing their reaction to the love letter.

Freya

Freya thought it was a prank at first but as a writer, she can recognize genuine words and raw emotion when she sees it so she knows that the love letter is real.

She phrases her questions towards the barista in a certain way that’s meant to get them to unintentionally leak information, hoping that her skill would help her figure out the sender.

Unfortunately, the barista is all too familiar with how Freya works and not even a hint is given aside from the note itself which leads her to go into a detective mode.

Whenever she’s free, she tries to visit Coffee Talk as soon as they open and will stay until closing, analyzing and talking to each patron.

When she narrows down everyone else, her mind is certain that it’s you.

She’s pretty bold and may oh so casually mention a letter that was given to her by an anonymous writer.

Once she is able to confirm that it’s you, laughter shakes her body but she’s not laughing at you; she’s laughing because it was fun for her to try and figure out which patron did it like a detective.

Freya genuinely thinks that the love letter is sweet and compliments your writing, going into depth about the aspects that she loves about it and may nonchalantly slip in a compliment or two about you.

With a giddy grin, she’ll invite you to meet up at Coffee Talk tomorrow night - it’s a date.

Lua

The corner of Lua’s lips pulled up into a bashful smile while she reads the letter but is disappointed when the barista won’t tell her who wrote it

She can respect that, though once she learns that the writer wished for their identity to remain anonymous.

While she doesn’t push for more information, she does ask the barista to give them her thanks whenever they see them again.

Lua keeps the note safe at home in a secret little compartment and sometimes looks back on it and lets herself feel that warmth inside of her as she rereads it over and over again.

Admittedly, there’s a part of her that is nervous about the whole thing; she has a fear that her secret admirer is actually just someone toying with or making fun of her.

Though just as she has her doubts, she also carries hope in the emotions expressed in the love letters as she slowly grows to reciprocate the same feelings.

To keep her interest, you must continue to leave her letters to the point where she begins to prolong her visits at the shop in hopes to catch whoever has been sending her these sweet messages.

One night, she overheard you talking with the barista and recognized the familiar speech pattern and your choice of words before she carefully approached you and ended up being pulled into the conversation.

Lua isn’t completely sure if it was you or not but with time, she slowly confirms her suspicions and knows that it was really you that captured her heart.

Baileys

Baileys’ got a playful smile on his face once he finishes reading the note and asks the barista if they were the one that wrote it to which they deny.

When he learns that the writer wishes to keep their identity a secret, he sighs, “Guess it can’t be helped, huh?” but he’s not disappointed in the slightest.

He keeps the note in his pocket and whenever he can, he’ll pull it out to analyze the writing to see if he can recognize it as anyone that he knows.

The barista will begin to see him around the shop more often and he makes it blatantly obvious; it’s clear that he wants to find the person.

Whenever he’s there, he’ll chat up the barista or will subtly manage to slip into conversations with other patrons, trying to pull out hints from them since he naturally has a way with words.

Baileys thrives off the mystery and the barista has told you about how excited he gets upon receiving another letter despite his cool exterior.

At this point, he’s really hoping that this isn’t just someone toying with him and that these words of confession are real because now he’s fallen for this anonymous person, too.

It isn’t until he finds himself talking to you that he’s certain you’re his secret admirer and is trying to impress you with his skills and knowledge and maybe cracking a few jokes.

Baileys is obvious about his interest and will offer to help you with anything, even if it’s not in his field or he’ll invite you out somewhere next time you’re both free.

Aaaaahhh I need to know who is your top three characters from Vinland saga and if you had to choose between these two thorfinn and Canute who would you pick as your husband/lover and why???

My top three favorite characters in Vinland Saga in this specific order would have to be:

Canute

Snake

Askeladd (Aske-Chad, as my brother likes to call him)

With that being said, I'd definitely pick Canute to be my husband. It's not that Thorfinn isn't good; he'd be an outstanding lover, especially from what we've seen in the manga so far. My preference just falls with Canute but more so King Canute because that man is fine. His character development was so sudden and slapped me in the face when I first experienced it. I genuinely thought that was the most "Chad" moment with his character and became mesmerized with him. Then I read the manga and was floored because he didn't stop growing there and flourished into this manipulative and perseverant person compared to how he was originally written. He's a complex yet simple man and those sorts of characters usually stand out to me than the others. I also greatly admire those who stay determined to reach their goal no matter what difficulties they face. I love how crafty Canute is with how he goes through with his plans and personally despite all he's done, I still like to think he's got a soft side in him that his loved ones, like Ragnar, was able to experience. With all the trauma with Sweyn, I just want to give Canute a hug and play with his hair. Gods, his hair. The facial hair was another part that got me if we're discussing his physical features. I could go on for hours talking about why I love Canute. He's actually one of my S+ tier top favorites of mine that I absolutely simp for.

Short Version:

Top three favs in Vinland Saga are Canute, Snake, and Askeladd.

Between Thorfinn and Canute, I'd rather pick Canute to be my husband.

Izumi Miyamura

Miyamura will make pinky promises to you whenever you have doubts plaguing your mind and little hope that something will happen.

He crouches down in front of you while gently linking your pinkies together as he swears with a gentle smile that he will do whatever he can to turn the odds in your favor.

Call him goofy all you want because in the end, he just wants to see his darling happy and content; he takes the weight of a pinky promise very seriously.

Toru Ishikawa

Ishikawa will guide you through crowds whether it’s in the school hallways, around the town, or at a local event.

He doesn’t mind if you want to take the lead but it’s reassuring for him to feel your hand in his while he makes way for the both of you.

If he’s not gently pulling you along with him, he’s got his hand on your back as he walks with you as a silent reminder to let you know that he’s there with you no matter what.

Kakeru Sengoku

Sengoku checks in with you so you’ll find him walking you to the entrance of your home and makes sure you lock it before he leaves.

Whenever he knows that he’ll be busy later, he’ll ask you to send him a message to let him know that you got home safely.

While he’s at it, he’ll ask if you’ve eaten or drank anything that day as an indirect reminder to take care of yourself.

Syu Iura

Iura listens to your favorite songs; he has an entire playlist of them or at least collects physical copies of the albums of your favorite artists.

They remind him of you whenever he hears them and it can also open his eyes (or rather, his ears) to new music.

On the chance that he’s spacing out or pulls you in for a dance, you’ll catch him humming a familiar tune without him realizing it unless you point it out.

Akane Yanagi

Yanagi subconsciously massages your hands with his own a couple minutes into holding them.

He won’t be looking at them but you can feel how firm yet gently he works into the muscles going from your palms to each finger pad at a steady pace.

If you get him to notice, he’ll give out a breathy bashful laugh before bringing your knuckles up to his lip, placing a kiss on each one.

Kouichi Shindo

Shindo loves to listen to you talk about anything and everything no matter when or where you guys are.

He’s actually sly enough to get to talk more by asking open-ended questions so you can’t answer with only a  “yes” or “no”.

Whatever ideas or opinions you have, he wants to hear them; never would he belittle you for them so your thoughts are always safe with him no matter how silly you think they are.

Makio Tanihara

Tanihara walks side by side with you but will always put himself on the busier side of the sidewalk to keep you away from traffic whether it’s busy or not.

Sometimes he subtly moves to that side and other times he ends up awkwardly nudging you away.

While this gesture may seem rude to others, you know him better than they do and understand that he means well.
