Honestly, i always love myself a good messed up slasher. Especially when they work in pairs (Scream, anyone?)
But when it gets to the story of Killer Frequency, I always just keep wanting to pull Marie aside and go "Yoooooou! Put that boy through so much trauma! And then JUMPED?!"
And like in your art, I doubt this is just a spur of the moment thing, like she's been training for this! Imagine as a young child waking up and your mother teaches you to whistle, not because it's a fun little skill but bc you're gonna use it to terrorize then murder people with.
You are compared to a father you've never even met and somewhat care but also don't care for because it's an image presented to you via your mother who you love so much you'd do anything for.
You are taught to use a knife, probably. Something just tells me this isn't their first instance of killing someone, especially Marie. I mean do you remember Mrs. Loomis in Scream 2 when Randy is talking shit and she MAIMS him? That's Marie all the way.
There's just... so much to say about Marie. Like what was she even planning to do after this fact?
THISSS!!! ALL OF THIS!!!!
I don’t think this was the intention, but her jumping off Whistling Point at the end seemed to me like it was something she’d planned the entire time, like she’d planned it to be a murder-suicide from the get go. I think in reality it was probably just a very serendipitous coincidence that’s where her running from the cops took her and she took the easy way out due to the convenience. I’m just a sucker for drama and having her basically planning a 20-year long suicide plan is pretty dark.
But either way, she completely threw Henry to the wolves. Obviously she told him to run but what parent wouldn’t be like “don’t go after him he had nothing to do with it it’s me you want”??? Like girl you’re just gonna orphan your son?? Who looked up to you so?
I do not doubt for a single second that she raised Henry for that night and that night alone. Literally nothing else mattered. She absolutely screwed him over and let herself believe she was doing the right thing. If you think about the game for more than five seconds the real tragedy becomes obvious.
I totally agree with you that Henry did it less because he loved his father and wanted revenge for his death but more because he loved his mother who loved his father and wanted to do right by her. Like some of my own relatives passed away before I was born, and I was told stories about them, but I don’t feel a connection to them at all. I feel connected to how my parents felt about them. Like one of my parents lost their brother (my uncle) but i feel worse for them losing their sibling than i do for myself losing an uncle, if that makes sense. I can definitely see Henry thinking something along the lines of “yeah my dad was killed and it sucks and it’s not fair I never got to meet him, but look what his death did to my mom, it destroyed her, and it’s all their fault she’s been miserable for 19 years”
Yeah, Marie taught him, raised him, to be this. It should be a parent’s worst nightmare for their kid to turn into a monster, but she encouraged it. Completely unfair. And yeah I mean we know from Clive’s tapes that Whistling Night wasn’t their first foray into murder. They’d been chasing down stragglers for a while before then, could have been anywhere from months to weeks to days before.
As for what her plan was after the fact… I don’t think she had one, to be perfectly honest. This was all that mattered. I mean like- she even revealed her identity and the identity of her son ON AIR, so it would be way harder to go into hiding anyway. To me that says she didn’t really plan ahead. Just be perpetually on the run?

Every time I go into the “followed tags” section and I see yet another post from like July or September of 2023 talking about how HOT and SEXY and ATTRACTIVE Henry is and it has like 1,000 notes, I wanna take off my nonexistent hat and stomp on it like I’m in a looney tunes cartoon
Is that really all anyone has to say about him? Does no one want to psychoanalyze his body language with me? Does no one else lay awake at night tearfully pondering the cycle of hurt and violence he’s forced into perpetuating? Does no one want to discuss the real-world realities of living with parents who are completely unfit to raise children??? Is no one going to offer him a gentle pat on the head and a glass of chocolate milk?? What is this world coming to?????
Like he’s 18 it’s all kosher and whatnot and I’m a rabid simp for Marie so I can’t judge that hard and it honestly doesn’t make that big of a difference to me I’m kinda overreacting lol but like-

See I could add to my headcanon that ‘Henry looks exactly like Marie but Marie always says he looks like George’ and say that ‘she says this because she can’t remember what George looked like anymore, having no pictures of him for reference, and refuses to believe she forgot so she just forces herself to believe he looked like Henry, which is wrong’
But we’re not ready to have that conversation

Does Forrest give anyone else less alcoholic Bojack Horseman vibes
Like he’s not a complete asshole but he is kinda… arrogant? In like an endearing way? Idk he gives me a bojack kinda vibe sans the uh alcohol and drugs and partying and shenanigans. But the regret, the jaded attitude, the arrogance, the dry but also funny entertainer type personality, I can see all that 😂😂😂

I always headcanoned her in the graveyard at this scene. It’s literally right next to the murder house. She definitely could’ve walked off into the woods and then circled around to the back of the cemetery. She had to have visited George at least ONCE right?

Lmao when Marie calls up the second time like “hi yes it’s me play song pls” Forrest hits her with the sassiest “idk why you are asking for that song when you KNOW we don’t have it.” And obviously she’s trying to act all sweet n suave and trying to fake being helpful and nice like “oh but you do have it! It’s outside the window!”
But like, if she wasn’t trying to put one over on them, I feel like Forrest’s reply would be met with something more along the lines of
“The fuck did you just say to me??”
Cuz holy shit he hit her with so much attitude

Y’Know those “scary dog privilege” videos where it shows a woman unafraid to walk outside alone because she has a large dog? Marie had that but it was “scary son privilege”
Like no need for a Doberman when she could just sic her Attack Child on em
Like shes walking at night and some creep starts following her when Henry walks out of the shadows like fucking Batman

Just announcing to the rest of the KF fandom that as the self appointed fandom ceo, the ship naming convention will be cute, cheesy puns.
The lovely @mighty-meerkat suggested Livewire for Forrest and Sandra and seeing as that’s absolutely GENIUS, it is hereby entered into fandom law.
Thank you.

The criminology major part of my brain: the real tragedy of the game is that throughout us history but especially through the Reagan Era up to today, the United States fundamentally lacks access to mental healthcare which has prevented so many from recieving treatment and stopping them from committing horrible acts. The game makes it obvious that Marie had severe mental health issues to the point she saw extreme violence as a necessary solution to end the pain and injustice she was feeling. If she had received mental health support and perhaps medication, so many lives could have been saved. We need to shift the perspective regarding those suffering from mental health issues and illnesses to ensure that they get the treatment and support they need to live comfortable, healthy lives which will be beneficial both for their safety and the safety of others.
The fandom rat part of my brain: oh queen? So valid. I support women’s rights and women’s wrongs. If bad guy why sexy

Ugh because apparently George and Marie had such a reputation for being little turtle doves to the point it’s basically the only thing Marie is remembered for despite being active in the school’s extracurriculars, I can’t help but imagine them to be the most saccharine, gooey, romantic couple on the planet.
Going to drive-in black and white movies, sneaking out at night to walk in the park/go on a drive/make out in a corn field somewhere lol, hopping on the train to go who knows where over the summer weekends, kissing in the hallways at school, George picking her up and carrying her bride-style to bed when she spends the night at his house (I get the sneaking suspicion he didn’t spend the night at her place that much lol, her parents don’t seem too chill about that), writing each other songs/poetry/love letters and slipping them in each others lockers, passing notes in class, just being so head over heels it’s almost sickening to watch. They’d definitely be the couple at the war protests (if GC was even important enough to DO protests lol) with the ‘make love not war’ sign hahaha
Boy I bet it sure hurt Marie to think about all that after he died tho :P

So if you fuck up and taunt Henry before Maurice can hide, you have the option to just call him a jackass and I think it’s just the greatest thing ever.
Forrest is like “heeeeeeeeeeeeeeey whistling man! Jackass.” And Henry is just like

So I spent like 2 hours on this
Anyways, let me explain:
Methodology: to make this map I watched an unedited playthrough of the game and marked down how long it took to get from one scripted event to the next. I then inserted in the known times/save points the game gives you at certain intervals. I then calculated at what time each event would take place given how long the game takes to actually play, and then put those numbers to correspond with the actual in- game clock. All times marked with a ~ are approximate.
What I found:
The game is actually pretty much in real time, with some exceptions. There are some timeskips. If you’re playing a speedrun, you’re gonna come in at like 3:30, and the game ends roughly at 4 am ish. This means that if you do everything super fast and don’t waste any time, the game timeskips about half an hour here and there. I tried to account for these timeskips where they occur in my map like adding two minutes when Roddy’s song is skipped. Some sections also take a bit longer than the in-game time. For example, the time from Maurice to Virginia to Eugene to Murphy is much longer irl than it is in-universe, meaning no matter who is doing what kill, they are BOOKING IT from victim to victim.
Who did what: so my choices of who did what kill rely on two things: one, proximity to the confirmed kills/scripted events, and two, my own personal headcanons for who did which. I will now put the game’s timeline in order as well as who did what. Please keep in mind anything happening within KFAM like ponty’s calls or the little Peggy q and an after Maurice or Forrest being the rizz king to Sandra are not included.
~11:40 pm: sheriff Matthews is killed (Marie) (I didn’t put an actual time on the map for this because i don’t know if it’s right or not but in my HEAD, Marie started her attack at George’s TOD)
~11:55 pm: whatever the opening cutscene is (Henry)
~12:04 am: Leslie is attacked (Marie)
-Marie recovers from being shot at by the Sherriff and tased by leslie
~12:25 am: Sandra is attacked (Marie) (Sandra’s excact location is unknown but I put her by what is presumably a parking lot by the football field near the river running route.) (Sandra is not seen getting into her car because Marie takes a longer time to actually get into the parking lot due to being injured)
~12:25 am: Henry slashes the fire engine tires and makes his way up to Maurice.
~12:47 am: Maurice reports a break in (Henry)
-Henry is locked in the archive for like 10 minutes
-Marie drops off the tape on her way to get Henry
-when she breaks him out, they hear Murphy acting a fool, but Marie tells henry to stick to his current target before going up to the maze.
~1:20 am: Marie calls Virginia because she has the phone and sends Henry on his way (Virginia’s location is also unknown so I just guessed)
~1:35 am: Henry goes to attack Virginia but is scared off by the frat. Immediately books it to Murphy.
~1:40 am: Eugene is attacked (Marie)
-marie, on her way to the graveyard, sees the teens going to the murder house and watches
~1:53 am: Murphy is attacked (Henry)
-Marie sees the prank unfolding and slips into the group
~2:15 am: the teens are attacked (Marie)
-Marie spends a few minutes at the graveyard visiting George and recovering from getting a bookshelf tipped over on top of her
~2:32 am: Forrest spots the whistling man outside KFAM when going to retrieve LRH (Henry)
~2:43 am: Marie and Henry meet outside the gas station to regroup (optional? Idk)
~2:45 am: the bomb is detonated (Marie)
-Henry goes back to KFAM to hang out outside as the last victims are personal to his mother.
~3:10 am: Ricky is attacked (Marie)
~3:18 am: Jason is stabbed in the woods (Marie)
~3:25 am: Casey calls KFAM now inside her house
-Marie kidnaps Teddy on her way to the school gym
~3:45 am: Henry enters KFAM and locks Forrest in the producer booth
~3:46 am: Interview with Teddy begins (Marie)
~3:58 am: Peggy confronts Marie
Thoughts? Do you agree or disagree? What would you change? Do you think this was a complete waste of my Sunday evening? I’d love to hear your thoughts!!
*edited to add: I changed Virginias location to make at least a little more sense lol

Pov: Peggy adopts Henry
(when he got bailed out ig- I think it'd be cool if he'll work in the KFAM studio once taken in by his aunt hehehehehehehehe)
I think this would be a really cute idea if Henry was a little younger. Unfortunately cuz he’s an adult I don’t think he’s gonna get a second chance at life to walk away permanently : (. ESPECIALLY if he actually killed people. (The only Peggy dies ending doesn’t make it clear if every murder before GC plus the sheriff and Clive were all Marie or not, but seems to imply Henry had nothing to do with those.) The poor baby. At the very most he might be able to get some leniency on his sentence for being coerced from a young age. I also wonder about if they’d actually let him go on bail or if they would think he’s enough of a threat to keep in jail until his sentencing.
It would be so nice if Peggy could spend a few months (maybe even a few years. The Justice system is SLOW YALL) with Henry, taking care of him and helping him undo the damage his mother did to him before he’s sentenced. She would be the best aunt. Though helping Henry get work at the studio is absolutely PRECIOUS and it shows just how gentle and forgiving Peggy is. To give him that kind of a second chance.
