It’s getting very close to the day, and so we offer you a link to a little classic from Bryan Konefsky (aka Basement Films and Experiments in Cinema Film Festival head honcho) to take you through. In Konefsky’s A Junky’s Christmas, Frank Capra’s It’s A Wonderful Life is hijacked by William S. Burroughs’ reading of his story “The Junkie’s Christmas”. The American dream becomes the American nightmare. vimeo.com/13391728

We had a very busy day and night on Saturday with the giant film gear garage sale followed by our Holiday Super 8 Party featuring insanely good cake by @sydney_southam_art and a great roster of films and friends—a lovely farewell to the fieldhouse that has served us so well over the last four years. Thanks Burrard View, we will miss you and the neighbours, all the screening events, workshops, darkroom time, and that crazy view of The Lions. Keep your eyes on the space as VUFFF (https://vufff.org/fieldhouse/) brings it to life in the new year!

THIS IS IT! Our FINAL PARTY at the Burrard View Fieldhouse as we wrap up our residency and have a well-deserved holiday hangout after the Garage Sale earlier in the day (see earlier listing).
Feel free to bring along some easy-serve potluck goodies, watch some Super 8 films (yes, we promise to screen the weirdly abridged STAR WARS Super 8 film, it has become a tradition after all) and enjoy some hot apple cider with us.  See you there!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN FROM IRIS FILM COLLECTIVE!
We have two online and FREE recommendations for you to scare it up with after the candy runs out at the door.
Le Cinema Club brings us the online premiere of Nadja, Michael Almereyda’s vampire film executive-produced by David Lynch. A work awaiting cult status like no other, Nadja weaves a dream-like tapestry of images (black-and-white 35mm meets PixelVision) and allusions (Ceaușescu as much as Lugosi) anchored by pitch-perfect turns from Elina Löwensohn, Martin Donovan, Jared Harris, Galaxy Craze, and — animating Dr. Van Helsing in consummate form — Peter Fonda.

PLUS: The NFB has put together a collection of films that will definitely spook you!
