Listen, I hate to be the one to have to tell you guys this but if you have trust issues, anxiety, or rejection sensitivity, it is not up to others to know that or try and help you around that by modifying their behavior to suit your mental health needs. Sure, it’s basic courtesy to be honest and forthcoming since that’s just part of basic communication in a hobby where that’s critical. But beyond that, if you come into this expecting others to simply know about your issues or even worse, expect them to accommodate for you automatically, then you have much bigger problems than just “trust issues” or “anxiety.”

Muns that annoy me the most are the type who absolutely HAVE to let you know just how fucking woke and sensitive they are. “Look at how I’ve recasted my muse to be this alternate FC because the original FC said (1) rude thing at 23:04, 14 February 2007, thank you for bringing that to my attention tumblr user @ (insert username here)!!” They also have to show you how much better they are than the actual author or actor or whatever and go to great lengths to keep bringing it up, whilst also censoring perfectly normal words like there’s something wrong with those words and wording their rules like they’re God’s gift to everyone and you’d better fucking remember it. Look at how I rescued this poor character from the nasty author. Look at how much better MY interpretation is and also It’s Canon Now Because I Said So!! Look at how Woke I am by refusing to write this fictional plot that is wrong Because I Said It Is despite it being completely fictional!! Please please please go outside. Just once in your life.

Because I’ve seen some pretty concerning things happening in fandom lately, here is a gentle reminder that:

if someone tells you that you need to cut off contact with your friends to prove your morality,

if someone tells you that you need to publicly announce your stances on fandom issues to prove your morality,

if someone tells you that you need to harass people they disagree with to prove your morality,

if someone threatens you with public shame, harassment, and exile from the social group if you don’t comply with the above demands,

that is abuse

Hello RPC, here’s a friendly reminder to not use serious buzzwords such as “grooming/groomer” and “pedophilia” over ships for your callouts! As a CSA victim, it’s absolutely disgusting to conflate a real, significant trauma and compare it to a bunch of drawings. It’s not supportive in any way. The characters will never feel pain, but actual human beings do. Do better.
