I don’t know if this is just a me thing but im very picky about tone inflections in film, but specifically Vulcan tone inflections as it serves their emotionless nature but not in a manner that’s completely monotone and I feel like too many background Vulcans do not have the tone right.
Although they are less important and therefore do not need hours of voice coaches, I feel like it’s not hard to understand the inflections and apply them to your voice to be a more convincing Vulcan. Many actors just use a more serious or lower register of their own voice, but there’s a lot more complexity to it that just that. Obviously Nimoy did it amazingly, and in rewatching AOS movies, Quinto did it quite well. However, Sarek in the AOS did not follow the voice as well (in my opinion) and it stuck out quite a lot. Nonetheless, I love all Vulcans and it’s just a small hiccup that bugs me now and then
I’ll be so honest if u have a Star Trek pfp I will assume u look like the character. I hope y’all picture me as TAS Spock cause I’m assuming u look like data’s blown up face, or Spock’s cunty pose, or the inside of the enterprise or whatever have you
inspired by boop day, reblog this post if its ok for people to send you random asks and interact on your posts with no judgement. i want to talk to people.
yeah lower decks is funny, yes there are humorous moments in TOS, but NOTHING will beat the episode in TNG where the landing party had Riker go seduce the leader of the planet in order to negotiate a peaceful solution (“Angel One” E14, S1)
look at him. they sent him into bed with his chest bare and his heart full. and they succeeded. nothing will be how hilarious it was to watch this for the first time.
the Trekkie artists on here are so good at their art, one second I’ll be admiring cool character design concepts, next second I’ll be crying to some sad “Spock death” comic, then I’ll see two characters kissing each other!! keep up the great work team
i can’t watch any Star Trek till my dad comes back in a week and it’s actually the most torturous thing a father could do to his nerdy son (besides actual torture)
@stellarbluegalaxy @onwhatcaptain @outerspacedunce I’m rebloging this in hopes of clarifying things so that the Star Trek fandom does not kill me.
I regret what I said simply because I didn’t mean to offend the entirely of the fandom, and I understand (now, after all ur reblogs) where I misunderstood the depth of which pon farr and similar concepts around spirk matter to the queer community and others.
thank you to the ppl who genuinely broke down its historical and cultural significance and a lesser extent thank you to the ppl who were a little mean but still informative.
ive learned a lot now and im glad to return back to being happy with the fandom like usual :) I also want to clarify that my intentions were never to be rude or even homophobic as I do like spirk as much as the next guy, I hope u guys know that. please forgive me if I’ve caused hatefulness or sourness in ur hearts, that is never ever my intention.
to all: message me if u want to say something but refrain from reblogging continuously saying the same thing, I love u but it’s a little much rn
what is it with spirk shippers and their obsession with pon farr?? like feel free to draw ur cute little spirk couple moments but i don’t need to see Spock going absolutely nuts for Jim because it’s mating season. some of y’all need horny jail for the horrendous things I’ve seen…
