First flight

Okie dokie, time for our first ever story, This will also act as a reboot to one of my stories on my main blog. But nevertheless I hope you enjoy :D Warning: Slight angst but ends with fluff. Word count:1.3K

You watched it all, Houses on fire. Fear and panic from the people, the village that you grew up in, was now in turmoil. A rival clan has been plotting a raid for many months, and they were now enacting on there plans. Your dad saw you in the midst of the fear and got you to safety.

"Dad" You looked at him with fear.

"Y/n, I know your scared, but I promise you your going to be safe, follow me and just focus on me" He gently cupped your cheeks before guiding you to the pier away from prying eyes. He planned for the worst if it was to happen, By building a raft with supplies to help you last. "I want you to go, Now before they find you."

"But what about you ??" You looked up at him with worry. "Dad... Please..." Tears filling up your eyes.

He looked at you with much sadness and then began to push you out to sea, pulling up the sail. He was going to protect you no matter what, even if it meant the worst. "I love you my child"

"DAD !!!" You tried to turn the boat around but the winds have started to pick up, it was no use.

You watched in the distance as your home, was now perished... everything you loved was no more...

But you then began to feel droplets of water on your head. You looked up and saw the night stary sky began to turn cloudy as rain started to fall... beginning to storm up. You tried to quickly do everything in your power to steer out of the storm. But your eyes went wide as you saw a massive tidal wave, the wave then knocked the boat over, knocking you over and into the water, one of the heavier crates on the ship fell onto your head and knocked you out.

You woke up to the sound of the waves of the ocean crashing onto the shoreline, You must've been dragged to some island nearby. You blinked hard and groaned in pain, Slowly rising off the ground, wiping the sand off your face. "Ow...."

You looked around as your eyes adjusted to the light, seeing your boat in pieces... You were now stranded in the middle of nowhere. You then looked around the wreckage, Only finding a dagger that had survived the shipwreck.

But now if it couldn't get any worse, you then looked up in the sky, hearing a mighty roar. "Dragon..." You shudder as you then ran into the forest for safety.

But in the sky, There was more than meets the eye, That dragon you saw, it had a rider. His name was Hiccup Haddock the III, son of Stoick the Vast, Chief of the Isle of berk. He was riding a night fury dragon which he named Toothless.

"What is it bud ??" He gently petted toothless's side. He picked up a scent from nearby, gurgling softly. "Let's take a look" They then began to venture below, Seeing the shipwreck. "What happened here ??" He frowned a little.

They landed and Hiccup investigated the shipwreck as Toothless stayed close by until he picked up a scent coming from the forest. He then began to sprint into the forest.

"Toothless, wait up bud !!" Hiccup called out and ran to him.

You hid behind a boulder, Holding your breath. Holding the dagger in your hand full tight. Hearing the footsteps of the dragon approaching you.

"What is it ??" Hiccup asked as Toothless sniffed the air, trying to pick up the scent, then walking to the boulder, You closed your eyes as you heard the footsteps, You jumped as you felt the sniff on your hand. launching back, you held up your dagger. "GET BACK !!!" You yelled, shaking.

Toothless growled and his pupils dilated sharply in a protective manner, Hiccup gently rubbed his head and slowly moved forward. "Woah woah... Easy now, It's ok..." Hiccup reassured you as he approached. You remained on guard.

"You one of them ?? *Rival clan name*" You kept the dagger in your hand.

"What ?? No no, absolutely not, I don't even know about *Rival clan name*" He slowly moved to his utility belt and removed his sword that he had, gently tossing it aside. "See ?? I'm not here to hurt you" He smiled softly.

You looked at him briefly before lowering your arm and dropping the dagger.

"Can you tell me your name ??"

"Y...Y/n..." You said softly.

"My name is Hiccup, Are you hurt ??"

You looked up at him and tried to stand up straight, Before hissing in pain, Looking over at your side, you were injured, the adrenaline must've overpowered the pain.

"It's ok, It's ok. I got stuff to help with that back at the island. Can you come with me ??" He looked at you.

Nodding, you followed hiccup to toothless. Looking at him briefly. "This is toothless, Don't worry, he's like a giant puppy" He chuckled, Trying to lighten the mood, To which Toothless playfully rolled his eyes.

He helped you up, Helping you harness up to the makeshift saddle. "Did... you make this ??" You looked at the saddle.

"I did, It's one of my many inventions that I made" He smiled softly and hopped on, harnessing himself in. "OK, Hold on tight. Toothless, Slowly ok ??"

He nodded and spread his wings, slowly fluttering his wings and beginning to fly, You held onto Hiccup's shoulder, watching as the land flew by. It was... an extraordinary experience.

Soon you then saw an island approaching, Hiccup smiled as he turned to you. "This y/n is berk" Toothless began to lower down to the ground, just near his house. Helping you off as you followed him inside.

"Sit here, I'll go find the stuff to tend your wound, Toothless can keep you company" He smiled softly as he climbed up the ladder. Toothless slowly walked over to you, gently placing his head on your thigh, making a small noise, as if to comfort you. You smiled and gently began to pat his head softly. "Hello there" You smiled softly as he began to make a purring noise.

Hiccup finally came back to you and began to tend to your injury, You tensed up a bit before relaxing as he continued to help.

"Thank you...."

"It's the least I can do..."

Before he could finish the sentence, you then heard booming footsteps as the door burst open to reveal a burly man.

"Ahh, my boy, was beginning to wonder where you we..." He then saw you, looking at him before down at the ground. "Hiccup ??"

Hiccup gave your shoulder a reassuring squeeze as he then got up and walked to his dad, bringing him to the other room to explain what happened.

After a bit, you began to smell something delicious, Stoick brought out a bowl of his famous stew and placed it in front of you. "You hungry ??" He then took off his helmet and sat down, hearing the wooden chair creak.

"Thank you..." You nodded and taken a few mouthfuls of his stew.

After a little bit, he spoke up again. "So y/n... Can you explain how Hiccup found you ??" He looked at you softly.

You slowly nodded and began to speak, Explaining what had happened to your island, Stoick, Hiccup and Toothless's hearts broke hearing this, you could feel Toothless nudge his head against you to comfort you. You wiped away a few tears as you finished the story.

"Well, If it's ok with you y/n, I as the chief of berk, would be glad to take you in as one of us" He smiled.

You looked up at him and then at Hiccup, who smiled and nodded.

"I... I would love that" You started to smile.

Toothless was happy too, he then began to lick your face, which made you laugh. "Oh yeah, That doesn't wash out" Hiccup chuckled.

Whatever the new life on Berk will be like, it will be good.

Hiii!! Could I please get a little one shot of reader (gn if possible) who is kinda like Valka but has more rare dragons, like skrills, light furies etc? Maybe what the reactions of the riders would be? If not all the riders then maybe hiccup

Rarity

Ooooh very very interesting, I like this idea, a nice one too kick us off

Like anything, in this world there were uncommon and common dragons.

And there were the rarer ones, ones that hiccup thought were wiped off on the face of the earth.

It would’ve been so cool to add rare species into the encyclopaedia and learn about there behaviours.

But he didn’t have to wait long, while our riding with toothless, his ears perked up, he could sense another dragon.

“What is it bud ??”

They then flew to a nearby deserted island, hoping off and inspecting the entire place.

But one wrong step he was snagged into a trap, being whisked off the ground and hung upside down.

A mysterious figure then appeared, uniting him.

“Sorry sorry, I thought you were raiders” the person helped him down.

“Sorry for intruding….”

But that wasn’t your attention now.

“By the gods…. Is that a night fury ??” You beamed.

“How did you know ??” The curiosity picked up in him.

“I’ve been studying rare dragons all my life”

Soon you had to show him, bringing him along to a nearby village you created, fostering rare one of a kind dragons.

Red deaths, skrill’s, buffalords, flightmares, and one that looked like a night fury, but its scales was white.

“I call this one a light fury”

“This…. This is unbelievable” he beamed brightly.

He then quickly pulled out his book and drew the designs in, meanwhile toothless began to play with the other dragons.

“You have to bring them back to Berk, they’ll have much more room, food…”

“I understand your enthusiasm, but these creatures are one of last kinds of there species… I can’t put them at risk, but you can feel free to visit at any time” you smiled.

“Thank you…. Oh I’m a bit rude, I didn’t introduce myself, my name is hiccup”

“I’m y/n”

Whenever he got the chance, hiccup would visit your island, being able to study the dragons, while you helped as well with what you knew.

It was a good time
