hot artists don't gatekeep
I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard
Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.
Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.
Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.
Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.
SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.
SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.
Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.
Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.
Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.
Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.
Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

If anyone ever mean or nasty to you one of the kindest things you can do is make the charitable assumption that they’re acting this way because they’ve been treated this way. You don’t have to put up with that treatment either, but if you hit it back with equal vitriol you’re only creating more anger in the world and likely confirming in their mind the negative biases they have towards people.
It takes a lot of strength to be kind, to be gentle, try to be an example to others and maybe they’ll learn from you.

anyway the actual point of fandom is to inspire each other. reading each other's fics and admiring each other's art and saying wow i love this and i feel something and i want to invoke this in other people, i want to write a sentence that feels like a meteor shower, i want to paint a kiss with such tenderness it makes you ache, i want to create something that someone else somewhere will see it and think oh, i need to do that too, right now. i am embracing being a corny cunt on main to say inspiring each other is one of the things humanity is best at and one of the things fandom is built for and i think that's beautiful

Chilling Afterschool
The Lyoko Gang hanging together after school!
I love it when stories go for the 'show, don't tell' approach. It provides a lot more depth to a scene when the characters don't spell out every emotional beat that is currently happenning.
So when Jeremie, arguably the smartest kid in the entire school is worrying about his future, his friends are there for him. They don't have to tell him, they don't have to say it... they just are.
I love these guys.
(Also I have a soft spot for sunsets, so this scene kind of just elevates itself in my mind by mere aesthetics alone.)

i saw a few tiktok videos that was very concerning to me and i decided to share some of the knowledge i got because as a community of people who freely write things about characters, we need to protect our work. i have sadly forgotten the name of the tiktok users but if you guys scroll upon it, please let me know so i can properly credit the people.
GOOGLE DOCS IS NOT SAFE❗️apparently google created this AI that allows them to see your google docs documents, fics, works, whatever is in there, let an actual human read it and have it used in an AI without crediting the original writer. so if you use google docs, please watch out for any suspicious new buttons or notifications asking you about allowing access to your documents
THEY GOT THE AO3 WRITERS AS WELL❗️apparently some thieves i am NOT calling them people because who with moral compass would do this shit? are copying, pasting and printing out popular fanfictions on AO3, binding them, turning them into actual books and selling them on places like Etsy WITHOUT crediting the original authors. which is why we can’t find some certain popular fics or authors on AO3 (credit to tiktok user sakuradarling)
