Release Control - A Spiritual Story

There have been more times than I can count on all my fingers and toes, that individuals have shown up through my spiritual guidance, who at the very least, believed they had to be in control. It’s a very interesting subject, because we only have a certain amount of control in this vulnerable life that we are living. There are more unknowns over the span of a lifetime, than there are known. Here is a story of someone who kept changing until he found his own unique vulnerable self.

George was a kind and loving boy, who spent his young life pleasing others. He was really good at it, and to some extent, the way he grew up with his talents, was that he had control over his own existence, by managing the calendars of well known people all over the world. He loved what he did and was highly respected and in demand, for his efficiency and ability to calmly organize and maintain order in a slightly crazy world. Then one day he became so tired, as he’d been working for years and years without a break. He had no choice but to rest and take a few days off.

He used the time to do his organizing over the phone with younger people that he mentored and guided. He felt terribly insecure doing this, as if he did a great job, he would make his own existence less necessary. Massive questioning followed this growing insecurity, and he was forced to reflect on his own life, rather than the work he had poured himself into. Realization began to flood his whole being, that he had this opportunity to continue to create and generate income as a consultant and guide, while having the freedom to explore his own life and options. It was time for him to release control and jump at the adventure of a lifetime. He took it and traveled, fell in love, laughed and stayed up giggling under the stars, while continuing to feel his value without being glued to the driver’s seat of his working life.

Releasing control was the ultimate freedom he could not have imagined better and the joy that flooded his daily life was outrageous in its magnetizing. More offers, greater work, even greater freedom followed his joy. Life was filled with his desires that he hadn’t even considered until he let go.

A Perfect Fit - A Spiritual Story

If I had to narrate a sweet story, not necessarily a true one, and instead more of a tale that reaches in and touches the heart, makes the mind consider a variation of perspective, and sends a message that can deepen the soul connection, this would be the perfect subject matter. So, here goes….are we sitting comfortably, then let the story begin…………….

Once upon a day in time, a lovely young woman stood in her home, wishing she had a mirror to check her appearance. It wasn’t as though she couldn’t find a mirror, she simply didn’t get around to purchasing one. She was very busy with caring for other people in her life, and although they truly and deeply appreciated all that she did, there was literally no time or opportunity for her to stop and take a look, a glance or even a quick peek at herself. She could only know who she was simply by the comments made about her by all the other people she met.

She wore loose and comfy clothes, had tumbled and quickly brushed hair, sensible shoes and a simple bag thrown together with all that she could possibly need for all that she accomplished in a given day. She figured she was quite happy but honestly didn’t know that for sure, and based her happiness on how happy those were that she spent time with. She lived in a very simple small home, with very little that was special, because in fairness, she was out a great deal in the homes of other people, and she really enjoyed all that they showed her about their homes, that nobody ever came to hers and they were so pleased that she was so interested in their lives. She felt that her bubble of life was good enough and that she was fortunate to be doing what she did.

The people weren’t hers but she was glad she was theirs, and knew her blessings were good because when she left them after her visits, they were smiling more, and waved her farewell, speaking to how much they looked forward to her next visit. The years grew and the people changed very little, other than growing older, and some of them had children, grandchildren and one or two of them moved away or grew ill or left the world. She laughed and cried and shared with them.

One day a large, handsome man, in a hat and sunglasses, came across her path and literally bumped into her. In such a surprising way, she dropped her bag of food that she was taking home to eat. She was a bit cross, and told him he needed to look where he was going. The very next day he walked right up to her with a new shiny bag of all that she had lost the day before, and walked her to her home. He began doing that every day. He asked her about her, told her she looked pretty, and she saw her reflection in his glasses. Every day, she looked at the reflection and saw him as a perfect fit for her. She saw herself for the first time and she began to look forward to seeing him, and also really enjoyed seeing herself.

She became a perfect fit for herself and got more beautiful in the reflection she saw through his glasses.

We all deserve to find our perfect fit here on earth, and not only invest in others. We must invest in ourselves.

Natural Wisdom - A Spiritual Story

We are all blessed with natural wisdom, and while I’ve thoroughly enjoyed receiving such powerful guidance for so many years, I have also learned so much from each and every one of you, with the wisdom you have shared with me. Life is an adventure in growing who we are and how we are showing up is a strong component of that.

I remember being in the UK when Princess Diana died so suddenly. The whole country was in shock, and it was obvious how loved her persona and character was. Around that time a client came to me for a reading, at the salon I was working part-time at. She was an older woman and had seen me before. I had been guided to help her with her pathway in lifestyle and choices she was making, at one of those major crossroads we all bump into, at various stages of our lives.

She was a loving “Royalist” as she called herself, and was pretty devastated with a loss she felt so personally about. With guided words of comfort toward her, the reading lit up her next steps and more, and our session began to conclude. She was calm, smiling and anticipating her next steps with more joy and less concern.

She looked at me, and it felt as though she were the one being channeled, as she told me that life was like a magical night of being on our small boat on sometimes calm and other times rough waters, with our fellow beings on their small boats. We had the great good fortune of nodding acknowledgment to one another, exchanging lanterns for a moment or a long breath of time, while we kept sailing our own boat into the passages of this life. It was a really beautiful vision. I even saw us getting into each other’s boats and sharing information on how our journey was moving forward. I loved the visual of this, it felt natural and kind.

My client’s great wisdom stayed with me all these years, and here I am sharing it with you to then be able to exchange it as a lantern with someone else. When we share our natural wisdom it’s a beautiful thing.

Making A Difference - A Spiritual Story

I have a couple of completely alternative realities when it comes to making a difference. One of them was a story of assumptions, and both embarrassing and perhaps could hit your funny bone, while the other is more heartwarming and perhaps inspirational.

The first one occurred when I was living on Maui, and I frequently went to a gym to workout. They sometimes provided sponsored snacks at that gym like a slice of pizza and other similar yummy temptations. On this day, I’d completed my workout and there was a table filled with boxes of bagels and tubs of cream cheese, with plastic knives to spread that deliciousness. I grabbed a couple of bagels and a dollop of cheese, leaving the gym.

I immediately saw what seemed to be a homeless, scruffy, long haired, sad eyed man sitting on the bench outside, and feeling compassionate, imagining his plight, I offered him one of the bagels. He looked up at me standing in front of him, and politely shook his head, telling me he was about to step into the gym, to claim his own bagel if he wished. I felt really silly and quite embarrassed, that I’d assumed based on his look, that he was in need, when actually he was just your average surfing dude, who was going to step into his own workout space and stay in shape. I got in the car, where I busted up laughing at my own assumption, and my not well thought out attempt to make a difference.

A sweet story came about with a lady I had gone to visit to massage and pamper her, on several occasions, who was wheelchair bound. She finally fell out of bed, while trying to make her home lovely for a daughter that was due to visit her, after several years of estranged behavior. The daughter came to the door when I showed up, and she was wearing her mother’s jewelry, and wouldn’t let me in, telling me her mother was in the hospital. I visited her there and she was truly tearful, letting me know that her daughter was leaving and had made sure she stayed in hospital so that she could take what she wanted. I felt so sad and knew I had to help get her help.

My darling mum and I found a sweet, small care home that had one space just for her. She stepped into a welcome party, where they celebrated her with a meal of all her favorite foods. They had done their homework and treated her with the love her daughter had not provided. It was heartwarming and they were going to make a difference to her life for the remaining time she had.

Life Projects - A Spiritual Story

Life really is one big project, or at the very least a whole bunch of small ones squished together over a period of time. Not only is life a project, we are an unfinished masterpiece, an incomplete symphony, and I’m not sure when and where, or even how we actually complete this plane of existence at all. Perhaps we don’t, and that’s why we return to this level of illustration again and again.

I have found over the years that there is a real truth to that, with stories that have literally collapsed the timeline of the here and now, into the continuum of forever, because of the connection between friends, family and soul partners across all of time and space, who came together to work things out. It’s been really special.

In all cases it has proved to me the existence of life projects that can span several lifetimes to heal and complete circles. It’s too easy to become caught up in drama, interpersonal relationships, where we don’t understand the fullness of their story and impacts. It’s easy to imagine they are only about the here and now, yet they are often working out the energetic across several layers and fields of reality that are in the unseen as well as the seen. Sometimes we can see the fullness of a relationship and can easily grasp the reason, season and literally the projects involved and included. At other times we are way too close to the project to see its wholeness and that’s when we need each other, and especially those of us who have the gift of vision and ability to witness what is truly going on from a slightly less attached viewpoint.

I remember many years ago, a very wise fellow healer, reminded me to take on project relationships in my practice as a guide, and not to bring them home in my personal life. That was wonderful advice for any healer, sensitive empath. Projects can be fabulous when they are a choice that we can put down and pick up at our leisure. They’re less fun when we live with a massive challenge that is ours to keep, all the time, without a break. Let’s choose our life projects wisely.

Integrity - A Spiritual Story

There have been many, many beautiful stories of enlightenment that have shown up in my life and practice over the years. The truth of those stories of human growth, love, endurance and significance, hold a massive thread of integrity in my personal journey. One theme that has come about in various forms, has included shifting the perspective of suffering into the heroes’ pathway of self mastery and personal discovery.

One example of this came in the form of individuals bringing their challenges, asking me and the guidance that flows through me for them, how to manage the energy of a spouse or partner. In many cases the person was ill or addicted in ways that were hard to manage for the individual who sat before me and all the guides.

To help them we first had to move away from their partner’s issues, and change the focus to them, empowering their own energetic field, to discover what they needed and what was missing in them, that their focus was on who they were living with. It became clear that their truth was covered in layers of concern, frustration or misunderstanding of the person’s truth or lack of that they were becoming consumed with.

We first had to take the time to find out who the person was with or without their partner. It was vital to discover what granted them the best joy, the most incentive to live and thrive, regardless of who they shared time with. In some cases, especially with long term relationships, one person became lost in another, and didn’t actually know how they felt, who they were, or what made them happy any longer. They had misplaced their truth, their integrity. It was the job of the guides and me as a conduit, to help them relocate what mattered to them, where they could feel their value, their grace and all the qualities that form a person’s true essence. Sometimes it happened quickly with loads of willingness and a spoonful of courage, while others took weeks, months and very rarely, years to uncover their true calling to this world.

When I’ve witnessed the opening of an individual’s truth, massive and sweet integrity and unique qualities, it’s been breathtakingly beautiful to witness. I highly recommend constantly peeling away any layers, especially those that aren’t our own, and uncovering our true selves every single day.
