SYNOPSIS: what happens when you hold the wanderer’s hand?

“Hey, Wanderer, can I ask you something?” This piques his interest, making him turn to you with a raised eyebrow.

“Can I hold your hand?”

He raises his eyebrow again, as if he’s going to question you again, but with a sigh, he speaks.

“If that would make you happy.” And it does. You turn to him, with a smile.

“Does this make you happy, Wanderer?”

He doesn’t say a word. However, when he thinks you’re not looking, he’s celebrating, with a small smile thinking how he’ll definitely tell Nahida of his success.

“It was bitter, so, bitter. When we first met, everything about our interactions was so bitter..”

“But regardless, I kept going back for more. Each time. Because I wanted you, just you.”

He lets out a weak-hearted laugh, “It’s funny, isn’t it? The puppet who always wanted a heart, falling for you.”

“If it’s selfish, I hope the universe will allow me just this once, to be selfish.”

PLAYING THE PART. — xavier.

synopsis: you both want to apply for this new job in jericho. problem? they’re only accepting couples.

warnings: enemies to lovers, made up shop and job requirements so very unrealistic, xavier has a bit of an attitude so not very close to canon but for plot, let me know if i missed anything else!

You considered yourself to be pretty reasonable. Anything that didn’t seem too outrageous, morally incorrect or illegal, you’d pretty much do.

But this? This was bullshit on the highest degree.

About 5 hours ago, you walked into this cute bakery, submitting your job application. And at the same time, you hear a cocky voice. One you hated that you could recognize.

“Good morning, sunshine.” Xavier spoke, giving you a signature smirk of his.

Before you can answer (most likely, with a certain finger, or certain 2 words) the shop owner speaks. “Oh, are you two together?” She asks. Which stops you both in your tracks.

“Ha—I’m sorry?” Xavier starts, giving a confused face.

“Didn’t you both see? We only hire couples.” She smiles at you both, pointing to it on the application.

“Uh, excuse us for a minute!” You speak, for the first time today, gesturing Xavier to follow you: away from the shop owner.

“So, what now?” He questions, raising his eyebrow. He was right, though. What now?

“I guess we fake till we make it,” You suggest, shrugging. You needed the money, and he wanted a job. It seemed like a win for everybody.

“HA! I’d rather be caught dead, rather to date you.”

“We aren’t even gonna seriously date! It’s just to get us this job.” You remind him. He sighs, rolls his eyes before he speaks again.

“Just until the semester starts up again, deal?”

“Deal.” You both shake on it, and walk back up to the shop owner.

He decides to speak first, “Yes, we are dating. Sorry, my lovely partner wasn’t sure if we should reveal it so soon.”

“Aw, aren’t you two the cutest!”

Xavier adores calling you nicknames. Of course he has his favorites, though.

He loves adding “my” in front of nicknames. My sweet, my love, my dear are his absolute favorites for “my” nicknames.

He adores other nicknames, though. He loves calling you “baby”, or “angel”. Out of the two, he definitely (unintentionally) uses angel more because that’s how he sees you.

Or, he’ll get creative and use something only you two know of.

PALM TRACING. — xavier.

prompt: “I like tracing your palm, it’s distracting.”

warnings: implied that you two are dating, dorm sneaking but you haven’t gotten caught, angst, reverse hurt/comfort, mentions of death but nobody dies

Xavier hated the dreams he had, he hated the fact he could see into the future.

He knows it sounds like a dream. Literally. To see into the future, be able to predict when you’d, perhaps, win the lottery.

That’s not the dreams Xavier had though. His were more of nightmares. Constantly seeing the monster, and this was about his 3rd? Maybe 4th, time seeing the monster in his “dreams” (if you could call them that).

And even worse, it kept coming after you. Everytime. And no matter how earlier he got there, no matter what he did, he still lost you.

His breath gets heavier as he awakens from another one of these nightmares, unsure what to do. He really just needed to make sure you were fine.

So he took a small bag to last him a night or two with all his essentials, headed towards your dorm that you somehow managed to have alone, arriving there rather fast.

He then takes his phone out his bag, dialing your number. He puts the phone close to his ear before he begins to speak: “Y/N, hey, it’s me. Could you open up?”

The door opens, and there you are. He’s so, relieved. He wasn’t sure if you’d open, or if his dream came true. He unintentional, let’s his bag fall to pull you into a hug.

“Baby, you okay?” You ask, growing very concerned. It’s not that him hugging is unusual, quite the opposite, it’s just that it’s 2AM and you both have class in the morning.

“Yeah, I just,” He lets you go, picking up his bag and locking the door behind him. “Had a nightmare, is all.”

“Do you wanna talk about it?”

You both move closer to your bed, sitting down next to each other. He begins to trace your palm.

“I like tracing your palm, it’s distracting.” He admits, continuing to do it. Taking a deep breath, he begins to explain.

“It’s been happening for a bit but,” He takes another deep breath, his voice getting more shaky. “I just have been having these more often, and they involve you.”

You give him a look to let him know you’re listening, and that he has your full attention.

“Yeah. Weird.. I know. You’re free to kick me out if you think so, I’d under—“

“Shut up, please.”

He laughs, which you are grateful for, not continuing any further about his nightmare.

“Listen to me, please,” You plead, letting your boyfriend continue to trace your palm.

“I’m not going anywhere. Okay? Not now, not ever. I’m here for you as long as you need me. Which I hope, is forever.”

“I love you, you know? Thank you. Thank you so much.” Xavier smiles at you, before proceeding to speak again.

“You mind if I crash here for the night?”

“Wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Xavier strikes me as the type to adore cuddles. He usually doesn’t care if you’d like to be the big or small spoon, but if possible, he’d prefer to be the big spoon.

His reasoning is always changing but he always says something cheesy like “So you can hear my heart that only beats for you~.”

That doesn’t mean he doesn’t like being the little spoon! He likes that too. He loves to be held by you.

In all honesty, he just adores any physical contact. To be reminded you’re here, a reminder you’ve could’ve been with anyone else but chose him. He feels grateful for this everyday.

On the giving end, Xavier dearly loves giving back hugs. This way, he can quickly give you a kiss. Or just whisper sweet nothings in your ear.

That doesn’t mean he doesn’t like other forms of hugs, whether receiving or giving!

His second favorite is hugging you from the waist, and pulling you closer to him.

He’s still fine with regular hugs though! He just likes physical contact coming from you.

On the receiving end, he prefers bear hugs. Or cuddles. He just appreciates the warm embrace he felt was missing.

He happens to also like heart to hearts. Just to feel a heartbeat other than his own makes him feel so warm inside, it melts him every time.

-> GIVING

forehead kisses are his favorite. he loves giving you forehead kisses, he usually does it because he thinks it’s cute, but also so you two will be more connected. he refuses to explain the logic behind this one, cause he thinks it’s fun.

lips are a close second. he loves a good quick kiss on the lips. or when you two (mostly him) sneak into each other’s dorm.

cheeks are cute, but not his favorite. he still adores it, however. he thinks anywhere or any day he can kiss you is a blessing.

nose is cute as well, but again, he still thinks nothing will top forehead kisses. he usually does it quick, and then proceeds to ‘bop!’ your nose.

-> RECEIVING

receiving, he thinks lip kisses are the cutest. though, to be fair, he thinks anything is the cutest when it comes to you.

that doesn’t mean he doesn’t like the rest! he absolutely adores receiving forehead kisses as well. he thinks it’s the sweetest thing ever.

in all honesty, he adores anything coming from you. but a quick cheek kiss while he's drawing will make him melt.

and nose kisses are the cutest too!! he think its cute when you give him a quick nose kisses and a quick "i love you." he just loves receiving kisses from you so much, no matter what.

synopsis: do they remember today is your anniversary?

ZHONGLI remembers, but he doesn’t immediately say something. Not because he doesn’t care, quite the opposite actually, he cares a lot. He cares so much that he wants it to be perfect. He’s been planning this for months; what the food will be, what you’ll do. Everything you can imagine.

CHILDE says something, almost the second he sees you awake. He’ll remind you every second of the day, he wants you to feel so loved on this day. He’ll take you around wherever you wish to go, making sure to do whatever you’d like. God; he just wants to you feel like you are so loved because you are.

XIAO is unsure of what to do. He’s seen many couples celebrate anniversaries but he’s worried if you’ll like it or not. He doesn’t want to overwhelm you and make it feel like as if you’re forced to celebrate with him. He puts you above all, after all. So he’ll give you a quick “Happy anniversary,” and ask if you’d like to do anything & explain how he feels.
