4 Playstation Titles that need PS4 Remasters

Playstation fans have been served a good fill of nostalgia over the last year with The Crash N-Sane Trilogy and Spyro Reignited especially, and, who can forget when Capcom pulled off one of E3s biggest surprises this year with the reveal of a Resident Evil 2 remake? Not to mention the Playstation Classic line-up that’s recently been unveiled. Despite the amount of remakes we’ve been supplied with, there could always be more, so here’s 4 Playstation games that would be wonderful to see remastered.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King

Dragon Quest Journey of the Cursed King was the title that broke the turn-based JRPG into mainstream Western media and remains one of the most beloved games in the series today. The eighth instalment weaves the tale of an evil wizard’s curse and your quest to reverse the spell. With a over sixty hours of gameplay, unforgettable characters and hundreds of monster battles to grind through, fans had a lot to sink their teeth into back in the day. While a 3DS port was released early last year, revisiting a reimagined Todrian Kingdom on the PS4 would be magical.

Croc: Legend of the Gobbos

Ahead of the Playstation classics lineup reveal earlier this month, there’s one game’s absence that’s been hitting fans hard. Dragon’s and Bandicoot’s have been celebrated so where’s the love for our favourite green reptile? Croc: Legend of the Gobbos debuted on the PS1 in 1997 and is renowned for being an early example of 3D platforming. You take control of the adorable Croc as he sets out on a quest to free the gobbos and defeat the evil Baron Dante. So, if we can’t ’t save the gobbos in classic fashion this December, how about a fresh remaster for the PS4 in the future?

Metal Gear Solid

Metal Gear Solid’s twentieth anniversary was celebrated earlier this year when art director Erasmus Brosdau, best known for his work on Crysis, Ryse, and Star Citizen, recreated the famous game intro in Epic’s Unreal Engine 4. The result was huge amount of excitement and enthusiasm from fans. If so much hype can be generated from a three minute cinematic, surely that means there’s enough demand out there for a full blown remake of Hideo Kojima’s stealth classic? Delving back into Snake’s expedition through shadow moses in glorious HD, with updated graphic’s would bring delight to veteran metal gear fans and open up a new exciting world for players who haven’t yet had the chance.

Sly Cooper and the Thieves Raccoonus

Out of all Playstation’s mascots, Sly Cooper is seemingly one of the most underrated. The first instalment in the series was released for the PS2 in 2002, and, saw players step into the shoes of master thief, Sly Cooper. Sly’s story is one of revenge as he attempts to track down the fiendish five and restore his family’s legacy. Although presented as a platformer, it’s a stealth game at heart and players are activity encouraged to cleverly manoeuvre through each environment to avoid one-to-one combat (Sly could only take one hit then it was game over.) While it wasn’t ever a groundbreaking hit, the game was incredibly stylish for it’s time and a lot of fun.
