His parents were unsure of how to help him, so he’s felt alone and very… outcast be his nonmagic family and friends. He spent most of his middle and high school life afraid of his natural talents, which most of the time manifest in strong breezes (which often upset peoples’ clothes, especially shirts) and especially in his loud voice and laugh. He’s been looking forward to going to Corvus’ Schools of Magic so he can meet and greet other magical people! Headcanons:

-Loves the feeling of air on his skin, so hates wearing clothing. Will absolutely strip anywhere, anytime. The best compromise he can get is crop tops and open button-ups, so he wears those often.

-Loves love, and will share it with absolutely anyone he can. Has a hard time settling down, but it’s not impossible.

-Master at the pocky game.

-Doesn’t consider anyone an easy one night stand. Instead, he thinks of them as one night lovers.

-Decent tarot card reader, and is trying to learn how to read palms. He just keeps getting distracted because ‘Whoa, their hands are so warm~“

-Is super smart, but has ADHD.

Since their first meeting their friendship grew and grew until Mattsun was able to learn of Hanamaki’s shapeshifting ability. He learned of the school and the path Makki was setting off to and every inch of it screamed at him. So he took to asking all sorts of questions, finding out what he could, how to apply, what he could do. Alchemy seemed like the most obvious choice to him. Not only to appeal to his naturally nonmagic nature but being able to deconstruct and reconstruct within law and build from seemingly thin air seemed to prove the most useful to him. So he worked and learned and begged his mother to let him go and study at the school for the magically gifted. And eventually, she caved, and allowed Issei to pursue what he had been quietly studying for for ages. And off her only son went, to learn more about the path he chose and the wizard he wanted to become. Headcanons (at least 3): - Mattsun loves to transmute ridiculous things. When you think he’ll form a radio, you’ll get a spring toy instead. He can always (and usually does) revert these back but its always something new each time.

- He had a really rough first year because magic never came easy to him. Even down the path of less resistance held some barriers that he had to struggle to overcome just so he could continue there. Mattsun pushed through because learning alchemy was something he truly wanted to do.

- Makes delicious messes of the kitchen. When hes not floating around the campus you might find him humming away in the kitchen, attempting to transmute literally everything before giving up and doing it the old fashioned way. He’s mastered forming a few things but its not that easy. Either way, he enjoys the cooking process even if its not his original plan.

Specifically a shapeshifting one. His parents always thought he would never be able to learn magic, but due to his mother being half, he wound up learning how to transform into very few creatures at the age of 10, such as a cat, a dog and an owl. As he grew older he learned to transform into more things, keeping to memory such things. He promised to his parents he would become one of the greatest shapeshifting wizards of all time.

Headcanons

-REALLY hates being called short…. Gets very defensive about being called short to the point of threatening others to kick them.

-he doesn’t really like to shapeshift into smaller creatures, it makes him feel more weak and small, and he already hates being short as is.

-He has a little bit of an anger problem. Not a big one, but just enough to throw him over the edge quickly and attack the other person talking to him.

- His favorite thing to transform into, ironically is big cats, such as lynxes, snow leopards and lions.

As Akaashi was growing up, his dad tried to see if there was even an ounce of elemental in him, and he worked Akaashi to death over trying to get him to work with water. Akaashi would never really spend time with kids his age, and it stressed him out, but he learned to observe. One day, out of frustration and pure disappointment, his dad scarred his right shoulder with fire. Then, his dad accused his mom of cheating on him and that Akaashi was not actually his son, and she declined. Things got worse from there, to the point where Akaashi’s mom kicked his dad out. Then his dad tried coming back to them, and each time Akaashi’s mom wouldn’t let him. Akaashi still has faint scarring from the fire on his shoulder. Headcanons• —Akaashi can play some piano. He’s decent enough to know what he’s doing, but not enough to play professionally. He learned it from his mom. —He can’t cook meals for shit. He always ends up burning pancakes, or burning lasagna, or burning..well, everything. Except desserts. He is a boss(tm) with desserts. —When Akaashi gets stressed out, he’ll make himself as alone as possible before crying. He carries an owl keychain for if people get overwhelming and he can’t escape yet.

Lore

Corvus' Schools of Witchcraft are a cluster of schools for the different magic types and abilities. Corvus, a student of Merlin, started these schools back when witches started gathering to hone their skills. The schools are hidden to the naked eye and can only be found with a map on the back of scholarship invitations. These schools are year round and have student housing with four students per house. The halls are bustling with magic and adventure just waiting to be uncovered!

School of Elements The school where elemental witches go to master the ways of fire, earth, water, air, and all of their derivatives. School of Alchemy Welcome to the brotherhood (jk). This is where you learn transmutation of all kinds!   School of Balance The magic of balance is still a mysterious one. The ability of light and dark, yin and yang, the sun and moon.   School of Transformation For the lucky souls who were born with the magic of changing shape in many forms. 

Witches are born with one specific ability and grow to hone that skill and master its abilities. Though all witches can use minimal magic abilities like levitation and short distance transportation. Of course these abilities still take practice and learning. 

A lot of times a witch will be born with one specific ability. Maybe an affinity with fire or light magic. But with practice and training they can learn to tap into other sides of their magical ability. 

Magic in this world is all nonverbal. Potions are a common occurrence and so are wands but wands are not necessary. Familiars are also common but normally they are small pets or animals.
